Hello. I am in the design process of my new house (and garage). The garage is mixed use: parking, wrenching, and other hobbies. It is ~1600 square feet, with 2 x 18x10 ft garage doors. I plan on installing a lift, and after much deliberation I think I am going for a 2-post. I would *really* like to not have floor mounted cables going between the posts. But I also am limited to a 11-foot ceiling. Is there a 2-post lift out there that can raise a car fairly high (like 6 feet). and does not have floor mounted cables, and fits under 11 foot ceiling? The only one I am aware of is Mohawk, but I don't think I am prepared to spend that kind of money. I am looking more in the $3-4k range.

Thanks!

Check out the benpac Gp7-lc total height is just under 10'. But with 11 ceilings i would take a good look at the floor joist above. If they are running left to right in relation to the bay you may be able to position the lift so that the lift fits between two rafters and use a standard height lift. Most range from 11'6"to just under 12'

I looked at the Gp7-lc. I guess that would limit my under car clearance but I suppose I can't have it both ways. Jking24, Your joist idea is a good one. I think they will be running in the right direction. Also, I suspect the actual height from the garage floor to the ceiling might be more like 11-4", and I think there's an Altas lift right around that height. Anyway, it sounds like I might have a couple options. Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you looked at the Triumph C7000? Clear floor, 6ft lifting height, plus it is movable and can be had for around $2500.

Thanks. I'll definitely have to take a close look at the C7000
