I am trying to put together a shop plan. I have a 32' RV that I am trying to cover so my original plan was to build a 36x48 16' tall then adding a 14' x36' car port out the front then two 12' doors on the 48' side. Then I wondering if I can some how do a two story 36x36 with a full open upstairs and down stairs with some lvl or glue lams. Has anyone seen this or done this. I'm sure ill have to put some post inside. I would still do the carport

Most would go with a smaller loft 36x16 minimal obstruction below would be needed. However, the builder should be able to provide trusses to your specs.... for a price.

I could build just a loft I'm trying to see if its possible. I did see one on here he did a 30x60 with a full upstairs using trusses two foot on center the pole looked like 8 foot on center with 4 2x12 as beams and the trusses had floor joist built in.

Thanks for the pictures I haven't thought of that. What about attic trusses? I have seen a couple shops on hear that have done attic trusses. Do these add a lot o f cost to thebuild
