Hey guys I recently received a old barn (30x20) for free. I had to tear it down and move it 25 miles to my property which was no big deal. In the process of putting it back up I made it 2 feet taller all the way around. I am wanting to make the new 2 foot space around the bottom white, while the rest of the barn is red. What I am wondering is what's the trim piece that I need for between te 2 different colors of metal.. I know I want white trim but I don't know if you just run J channel 1 direction or do you run 1 piece of J channel each way or if there's a special trim piece that already goes both ways and I just don't know the name lol. Thank you guys for the help I will try and get some pictures up too

I can look at my building in a little bit but I believe its a z metal not a J. The top of it goes under the upper metal and behind it. Then the upper metal sits on the horizontal part and the last lip goes over the lower metal. Not sure if that makes sense. I can take a picture later if you need.

I did a shop addition last year like that. He was planning for windows and died the bottom to match his existing building. 3' lower sheets, then z channel and upper sheets.

TheZ channel can be either the upper or the lower color I would think. Or for that matter, any color you'd like!

If the Z channel is the upper color, it helps hide any unevenness at the bottom of the upper panels. You can put Z channel at the very bottom to block the panel grooves and prevent rodent intrusion.
