Gray and Wright come to mind as makers of large industrial type tools. Probably Proto, as well.

Wright makes wrenched well past insane huge. Sk makes wrenches up to 2 1/2". There are some in the closeout section at Epsteins for great prices. The diffference between a import wrench that size and a USA one is amazing.

Proto is my favorite for larger wrenches around these sizes.

I been noticing a lot of wrench company's making their wrenches extra thick and bulky these days (prob cause they are using shittier metal), but Protos wrenches are sleek and comfortable.

Proto, Gray(Canadian), Wright, Williams, Caterpillar(Williams, Snap-On), quite a few out there you just have to look. SK made some big ones for a while too.

Thanks for so much information! I will look into Pronto and Wright. I just looked at Epsteins website and noticed that they have a set too. Very nice to know.

Thanks!

Just wondering what you are building. I work on ag equipment and some const equipment I next never used over 1 5/8". I slowly built my way up to 2" SK, but they are more for looks then ever really needed?

I have the Snap On 3/8'' CrowFoot Stock #226FC. It's a 26 piece kit from sizes 7/16" to 2". Anything over that, I'm limited.

Was working on a International and a Werner 52 Feet Big Rig. Was tightening a nut and bolt that was 2 3/4'' size. Took a while to find a wrench to get the job done.

Just tools to think and wonder about if the purchase is necessary to have the 2'' and above. I think Wrenches will suit better than 3/8'' Size Crowfoot.

I work on alot of heavy equipment and we carry 1 5/8 in the shop truck and never seem to need anything bigger than that. I would like to build the set up to 2 inches.

I don't blame 2JZGTESC300 for trying to be prepared for any future wrenching requirements he can foresee. I only work on cars & light trucks & recently had to remove the rear diff yoke nut on a '95 F-Super Duty P-U to replace the pinion seal. It was 1 7/8". This would involve a socket, not a wrench, but the gist of what I'm saying holds, I believe. You never know what's coming down the pike!

The northern set is a pretty good one, I own the 4 pc set 2 1/8 - 2 1/2 and theyve never failed me, the quality is pretty good for such a cheap set of wrenches.

I dont have a need for anything that size, but if I did Wright would be my choice.

I mentioned Proto earlier, but this guy is right. I use wrenches these size everyday and Wright probably is the most practical wrench to get in these sizes.

Proto is the most ideal wrench to have all the way up to about 1 5/8" - 1 13/16" range, but they don't tend to adjust the proportion of the wrench for the larger sizes as well as Wright does. The wright wrenches are more narrow and easier to grip.

The open-end and box ends on the Wright wrenches are a little more robust than the Proto's. (I admire Proto for not unnecessarily over-engineering their tools)

I think Grey wrenches are awkward and cheap looking. Williams are very nice, but awkward and not ergonomically friendly (in these sizes).
