I agree. I am going to grab one. But most likely will not use the outlet, 18 gauge wont handle much else than a light.

Had retractable light just like it, and ex-wife said "just can't find it" when I was trying to get all my stuff out of garage. Her new schmuck likely using my light after she pulled back out hiding items that he wanted.

Why use an incandescent bulb work lamp which gets very hot and is not as bright as a good LED lamp? If you drop it the bulb may break or fail.

a good led lamp cost a small fortune. ive tried a few, maybe i didnt spend enough, but i dont like the color of most of them, no matter how bright it is. i have several 3500K fluorescent work lights and a couple old school drop lights. stubborn, i guess. i just been using them for years and i know what to expect when i use them.

I plan on replacing the bulb in mine with an LED bulb. Shouldnt cost more than $10-15. Last time I purchased LED bulbs was at Costco, and if I recall (a year ago), it was a 2 pack for $20. Both bulbs are still going.

Paint inside the reflector with matte white paint (heavy duty enamel, engine or wheel paint to handle the heat) and you'll get much better, richer tone and distrubition.
This tip works for pretty much any incandescent bulb lights, worklights, or stop/tail/turn lights etc

That extension and light is great for a soldering iron. I wouldn't use a sawzall to cut exhaust of course... I use it with a warm cfl bulb, less heat. Takes a little while to reach full brightness and less impact resistance but i usually just leave it on during a job anyways. I'm sure they makea impact resistant cfl bulbs...

Got mine today. Actually fairly impressed. Even though it is a thin cord as mentioned, the light reflector and handle appear pretty decent. Was a bit smaller than i expected, but that is good. The spring tension appears to be strong as well. The only bad thing that i noticed is the mounting for hanging it is a small plastic tang. I will be hanging it from the ceiling, so i guess time will tell. They also include mounting hardware.

I kinda wish i grabbed two.

Thats what I Noticed to, a little crappy plastic loop to hold that thing up is............. thankfully they included hardware that allows you to mount the reel more securely.
