Got my coupon book and 20% off sticker in the mail yesterday. Read the fine print on the coupon and from what I can see there's nothing in the store worth much more than 20 bucks that the coupon can be used on.

So the challenge is. What is the most expensive single item in harbor freight that the 20% off coupon can be used for?

Did you notice they now have vanity Daytona jacks in colors that match the new boxes?

They don't owe me anything. But at the same time I don't like my chain pulled either.

Don't tell me 20% off ANY single item. Then exclude 3/4 of the merchandise.

Sounds almost like bait and switch if you ask me.

That will be the next class action settlement

Check the HFQPDB. HFQPDB.com. Plug in the item number. Usually the stuff that’s excluded has item-specific coupons.

I bought a 60-gal vertical air compressor with a 20% off coupon, but that was before air compressors were excluded.

nothing has changed. there have been lots of exclusions for years and their marketing has always just been clickbait.

Life is so unfair.

I'm not a math wiz, but 20% off a $20 item, is 4 bucks, which seems like real money to me.

Regarding "exclusions", maybe they want to make a few bucks, on a floor jack, that costs a whopping $79.99

Stores should just put everything where they need to be price wise. HF is not alone with the perpetual sale and coupon game. It inspires people to go shopping as they think they may miss out on something. I shop HF but I would appreciate getting products at 20% off without fumbling with my phone at the register or using their printed media that cuts into the profit.

HF is the man’s version of a clothing department store. At one of those everything is always reportedly “on sale”, various coupons that exclude most of the stuff, etc.

Central machinery 1.5 hp milling machine 1200$

I purchased the 2hp dust collector when the 25% off coupon was valid. For as much as I use it they are not bad for the money after you upgraded a few things.

You could use the 20% off coupon on the new Icon breaker bar, and it would still be like $10 more expensive than a Proto USA. Oh wait, probably can't use the coupon on Icon...so it goes back to costing 2 Protos.

The 20% off coupon doesn't seem to work on floor jacks or jacks with wheels. Anyone know when they have sales on them? Thanks!

I very rarely shop at HF any more, especially after the increasing number of "exceptions". The one thing that I usually buy there is "silver" tarps for my boats and tractors. Generally I could get a couple of years out of them and could get them cheap with sales and coupons. The last one that I bought didn't last 6 months. A close inspection showed that it was really a cheaper level "blue" tarp with some sort of silver coating on it. I will be shopping somewhere else for my next tarp.

I really don't buy anything at Harbor Freight, i just go there for the smell.

However, there are still a bunch of tools with names like Quinn, Doyle, & Maddox that you can use the 20% off coupon on and there are also coupons in the current catalog on Icon breaker bars, and tool storage that are better than 20% off.

Yes, it does **** that you can't use the coupon on everything in the store but, it's no worse than the rat bastards here that see a bargain posted in the hot deals section and then buys 10 of it at once so, the deal gets nixed :wtf:

Maybe you guys should launch a petition or a email/letter writing campaign doing away with the selective 20% coupon and replacing it with a 10% good on everything coupon.:bounce:

Worked for me, back then, when I got my 44" set with the old sand finish. One of them was on sale but not a super coupon so I combined it with the 20% off. I had my wife buy the other box with another 20 off. Sadly, the days of stringing discounts together are gone or pretty rare.

I was there a few weeks ago buying some wood clamps. A guy was trying to use a coupon on one of the soldering iron "Plastic welders" and it would not work. Its considered a welder. LOL!!

I keep thinking about one of the really small bench top wood turning lathes. It is a Central Machinery item, so I guess a coupon would work. Normally $240 with $48 off. Might wait on one of the rare 25% coupons and get $60 off.

I got a few of those Braun LED lights some time ago with the coupons. IIRC they were only 19.99 then (as opposed to 39.99 now!) and I got them for around 16 bucks....man I should've bought 10 of them....they're great!
