thanks a ton! my dad asked for one of their ****** jacks for his birthday in a few weeks.

I have one of the cheap scissors type.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=39178

Works good on trans-axels from imports.
I have a hydraulic like in the previous post, another brand, but it's a bit big for under Honda/Toyota/Neon/Suzuki which is where all my ****** work is lately.

Got a couple small things in there today with the coupon, may go back Saturday.

One of my students bought that scissor jack to change the ****** in his Jeep. He said they had to drill two holes and run a bolt from one scissor leg to the other to keep them from spreading out and buckling. After that, he said it worked fine.

Wonder what the tranns weighed? With a transfer case, shield and ****** I've seen them over 450, the rating for the unit.
****** in my MH weighs something like 350 full, but most jobs the scissor works. Of course, I've never had more than a transaxle on it, maybe 150 lbs.

I stopped by tonight about 4 pm, 1 hr left on the 20% coupon, and the store was PACKED. Three ads are running concurrently right now too.

Once again I looked over the hose pliers and skipped them. Ended up buying a pair of 11" pliers, and the HF metal version of a mity vac for $22 incl tax. I would have bought more, but some items were OOS and I wasn't one of the old guys studying his coupon sheet and sales flyers. Maybe next time I'll be better prepared.

Yeah it helps to use the shopping list feature of harbofreightusa.com otherwise I always leave and remember that I forgot to get something on my way home. The shelves were pretty bare at the store I went to. A lot of the items I asked about and they had more in back. I picked up the swivel head ratchets, and I have to admit they seem REALLY nice.

Did this get emailed to you or?

I printed it but it says in fine print photo copies or computer copies are not accepted. Says no duplicates basically.

So, I wonder if this was a mailed only one or if they will honor it?

I was thinking of buying 4 of the nice wheel dollies they have. Me get 2 and wife get 2 since the coupon is only 20% off ONE ITEM unlike lasts weeks 20% off all order.

I just checked my junk e-mail account and I had the same coupon. Mine says "Just for you, our valued customer". I just compared the barcode numbers on mine and the one posted above and they are different. So I don't think you'll be able to use it more than once. :(

I received an email coupon. So the photo/computer copy is
I didn't notice the fine print on mine. Actually the fine print one mine came blurred beyond readable since my printer ran out of ink while printing, luckly the bar code was still usable.

The store I went too didn't say anything about it being printed out.

I ended up buying their seven drawer side cabinet which was already on sale for $180ish compared to the $270 price on their site. Saved about $100 after tax so I'm happy :bounce:

Is it me, or is HF pushing out a LOT of 20% off coupons lately? They seem to be arriving in my inbox at least once every 10 days or so. I'm not complaining, just curious. I remember when I could never find one of these anywhere.

I've used 10 or more of these, all printed and duplicated. No one ever asks or questions it.

Crappy economy=less spending=more incentives to bring in more spending

My barcode is different than the one that was posted too. Not sure how much sense it makes to send out a coupon via email and then say no printouts.:wtf:

It probably doesn't matter anyway. The resolution of the image isn't too good so it probably won't scan. Last coupon I used wouldn't scan so the guy just used a printout they already had at the register.

I am jealous of all the money off deals you guys in the States get.
In the UK we're lucky if we find ten per cent off for ordering via the net, but collect in store.

Is anything HF carries made in America?
I am kind of thinking it is the best thing to do for our economy right now.

I am definitely trying to avoid buying products made in China.

The money you send to china comes right back at ya. The Chinese are our governments main lenders. China, and the rest of the world, are in a slump too. If China goes broke, we go broke (if they need money, guess whose door they will come knocking on, and we don't have any money to give them). Also, patronizing the store provides those HF store workers with a job. So it doesn't really matter where you spend your money, as long as you keep spending. Everything will come back to us one way or another. If spending your dollar at a mom and pop store, or sears, or snap on, makes your conscious clear, go for it. But I believe that making your dollar go the farthest in these times is important.

Um, don't post correct economic information in here.;)
Lots of people don't like it.
They prefer simplified economics... not the real deal.

But for those 30 million Americans who make their living from exports, from Snap-On to Microsoft to Hollyweird, pray the Chinese and rest of the world economy stays at least functional.
If for no other reason, and there are a lot, then because when countries economy collapse, wars start.

I don't think they would even try to come knocking. We would never give or lend money to a communist government.

You’re kidding, right?
We propped up the Soviets for decades, look into the wheat deals, etc.
We lent communist governments many billions, gave them billions more in aid.

Not saying it was right or wrong, but we did do it.

We do it today, and the present administration feels we need to give far more to places like Cuba and North Korea than we ever have before.

This is not about whether it's a good idea to keep countries like China solvent, but just stating the unarguable fact that this country has helped support more of our enemies than our friends historically speaking.

And that is only going to increase.

China is America's largest debt holder. How do you think the government has been financing the war in Iraq? The US hasn't raised taxes to pay for the war, so the money had to come from somewhere -- in the form of US Treasury notes. Who buys more Treasury notes than anyone else -- China.

China does it because they have seen many other countries destroy their economies by not sending the money back to the USA. If they were to really help it would be in purchases.

Wheat deals to Russia kept many of our people in business since it was a product produced here, by US labor. Shipped on US railways, loaded out at US ports. As Earl Butz said every one has complained about these surpluses for years so, I sold it. He also was able to cut a very costly grain storage program.

Last year our Gov`t borrowed money from China (China bought our Gov`t bonds) Treasury sends out the $600 per person checks.
People run out spend money at Wally World on China goods.(large % of $600 was spent at Wally World
Wally Word orders more China goods.
We owe China prinicapl & interest on bonds and they have money from sale of goods.

Now back to tools
