Well I'm going to use my 20% off coupon for another air nailer....(desperately trying to get back on topic). :lol_hitti

Used three of mine this weekend, air nailer, nails, roller stand.
Since two of the three items were on sale I got them all for well under100 bucks.

On the other hand, even set down to 60 pounds the framing nailer seems to hit a little too hard, kind of splinters the two by fours. Well, still playing with it.

if you hold the nailer a little off the surface, the "smash factor" is reduced. I don't know how that specific nailer's form factor/packaging for the tip but a little yankee ingenuity to get it to sit proud might just be the ticket...

It's expired.

Mine didn't expire until today. Unfortunately I couldn't pick up the framing nailer to round out my HF nailing gun collection. I've got the 23 gauge pin nailer and the 18 gauge brad nailer. I'll never go back to a hammer again! I was seriously nailing together scraps for the fun of it. :lol_hitti

Yea, it does, but how do else do they expect you to show them a coupon they e-mailed "you"? Right? :lol_hitti

So, they emailed a coupon that says it cannot be printed?

The image is probably not something they sent to customers via email. Its obviously a JPG from a local ad, etc..

As long as the bar code can be read, the print is good enough.

Yep. The coupon that is in the body of the e-mail is definitely not a scan. However, when you click 'Print this coupon', it takes you to the lower quality image - which may very well be a scan.

I don`t think the clerks care as long as the coupon scans. Take the item up to the clerk and if the coupon doesn`t scan, tell them you will just put it back. I think they may find a way.

Ain't tinternet wonderful?
You listed the link in the States. I read it in the UK. I sent the list to a friend in Richmond Va and to another in Boston Ma and I just heard at the weekend that both used it :)

They say "thanks" btw.

On all these confused readers of the adds;
Of course it is to be printed. How else you gonna carry the coupon in? Carry your laptop and let them scan it?

As to using only one, well, they don't really care as long as you don't make a fool of yourself standing in line and buying three things one at a time as the coupon only works once per transaction.

I usually use three or four per coupon run, either on the 20% off each item or on the 20% off complete sale.

They use the same coupon barcode for many, many people. There are some regional differences but all are honored.

On printing them, I tend to copy and paste the coupons into a Word document so I can print four or more to a sheet.
Always cut out your coupons. Don't expect/ask them to do it for you.
They want a small piece of paper for the register, not a sheet with three coupons on it.

Because of the problems they have with their webmaster goofing up sometimes the only way you can use the single item coupons they mail you is to cut each of the three parts of the coupon and paste them individually into a document.
They need the part with the bar code, but adding the part with the picture helps. I seldom bother to cut and paste the 'limit five' text.

If you don't understand what I'm talking about, you aren't getting all the coupons.

Anyway they are very easy on coupons at all the HF stores I've been to.

Remember, it's a 'top down' management layout.
That means the clerk has NO authority.
The floor manager has a tiny bit of authority.
The store manager has a lot.

So don't fight with, argue with or try to negotiate with anyone below manager.
The kid at the counter hasn't the right to make decisions.
Deal with the person who can.

Rule one; Be discreet if you use multiples of the same coupon. Respect their right to ‘not notice’, don’t shove it down their throats or they will stick to the letter of the law.

Rule two; Be courteous. Expect and get your bargain, don’t be a jerk about it. If there is a problem talk to someone with authority, that is only the store manager in most cases.

I've never had a HarborF manager not do anything I asked that was even remotely reasonable. There does seem to be some line they can't cross, rules they can't bend, but generally no resistance going right to that line.

I figure they must have to order stuff 6 months to a year in advance from China, so store inventory MUST move at a predicted rate. I expect to see a lot of sales.

Thanks for the coupon . I am off to get the little blue welding cart. Hope it works for me.

EDIT: Coupon worked just fine; thanks again for the heads up and 10 bucks I saved.

Seems logical. There are 3 cashiers (women) at my local store that flirt with me every time I go. They have no problem taking multiple coupons for me or looking at the internet on my phone to price-match an item. I've only spoken to the manager once, but that was because he was the closest one to me. On the other hand, I've had less than pleasurable experiences at another HF location.

Cool!

And to chrisadams - if I'm signed up for the online coupons, I should be getting them all, right?

If you are getting all the coupons you will have noticed that the web master is just short of an idiot. About one time in three the coupons are not loaded correctly, usually on the first page. Some of the 20% coupons could only be copied by sections, not printed. This is nothing to do with policy or the wishes of the company, just general incompetence on the web master's part.
Same as the silly pricing at Sears.

i've used 2 coupons at the same register.

you know when people put down their order and say charge these items separately? i did that at HF the other day and said to charge the gallon of evaporust separately. Used a 20% off coupon for that. For the rest of the sutff, I had one item that wasn't a coupon item and had another 20% off for that. Kid didn't even bat an eye....

I went to my local HF and wanted a vise. They had the one I wanted, BUT it was priced at 80 bucks not the 60 on the internet. So one of the clerks ask me if i needed help, I said " I would like this vise but on the internet its 60 bucks not 80." He says I'll look it up, so the clerk went to a computer looked it up and was like we'll price match that. So I am getting the vise for 60 bucks now then when I got up to the checkout the clerk needed manager approvel for the price change. Then I whip out my 20% off coupon and the manager looks at it and reads it, says to me that the coupon is good so I got the vise for like 45 bucks, I was stoked on that when they orginally wanted 80.

I hope they have another one coming up soon so I can buy some more China junk. :D

Just curious but as long as I made two trips why couldn't I use more than one?

I think everyone pretty much prints as many as they need. The folks on the register get paid the same either way, so there's not much incentive to play coupon police. Some people do take things more seriously than others, so you never know.
