I have looked also. Most plans if not all of them require you to pay a couple hundred bucks for.
Im sure their has been people that just wing it as they go but i know if your building it yourself i believe you need some kind of plans or sketch to show the permit office

I understand the price of plans. If you plab on building a garage 250 bucks should not be a issue because your garage will be well over 10k in price if you cant spend 250 on plans then i really do not know how you will afford the materials and such for the build.
Hopefully their is a website that offers free plans but i highly doubt it

Well for one I have all my own lumber and stuff but if I can save a little here or there I will do that and as for 10k I built a shop six years ago for less than 4k and that was everything in it 16 x 36

Did you have the concrete done with the 16x36?
Wow i give you props thats dirt cheap, but prices have gone up some from 6 years ago. Do you own a saw mill or lumber yard? That must be nice having all the lumber needed, thats alot of money saved with just that alone

I am trying to find a plan for a 20 x 30 pole barn I have search with no results anywhere.
I am not sure yet if I am going with a upstairs yet or what.

Google "free pole barn plans". You will find all the free plans you want. A lot of colleges and state AG depts. have free online plans.
