Picked up a UFO high bay at Home Depot in a whim while gwtting other electrical supplies.

The t5 high bays I have rigged up during construction are 324 watts and 30,000 lumens each.

These UFO lights are dimmable. How does that work? More specific if I wanted to wire a dimmer would I need one for each fixture?

I like the light output at the lathe. My goal was 70 foot candles and with that fixture location I have 75 foot candles at the chuck.

The lamps in your T5HO fixture emit 30,000 lumens, but the fixture traps about 15% of that and then after a while the lamps gradually get dimmer, too. So, do that math before comparing lumens to the UFO. The UFO emits 26,000 lumens, all of which reach the target area. Without looking it up, the UFO likely has a tighter beam than the T5HO, so the light underneath it is probably brighter.
Dimming is done by 2 extra wires in the cord on the UFO, probably purple and gray. You can join these with the same wires from other fixtures and run them to a low voltage dimmer.
