Geez, talk about timing.

Monday morning I went in to spec out a new Reg cab Long bed 1500 Gmc. I'm planning on ordering it on Friday.

GMC will be using the 06 body style until the end of the june 07 build, then will start switching over to the new, ugly body style. First to switch will be the extended cab 1500's and 2500's, then the extended 1 tons, then, finally, the reg cab.

I've been having a ***** of a time finding a reg cab 8' bed 06 truck, so I'm going to have to order one. LOTS of regular cab "work" trucks out there, but I want top of the line with everything but leather.

Reg cab? you bet! Extended cab with long bed is over 24' long, and I need the 8' bed. I also want to make sure I CAN'T take the whole family.

Ordering a '07, I can still get the dual fuel and GM is offering 0 % for 60 or 3500 rebate. It looks like Bush is going to offer a 1K rebate yearly for anybody with a dual fuel truck/suv.

Wish me luck!

Scott

The new ones have all the personality o a sticky doorknob, in my opinion.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the 07-08 GMC and Chevy fullsize trucks won't be made in a reg cab anymore. Just what everybody needs is a 24'+ service truck!

I agree. The new trucks are hideous. Here's my question. How can GM start making their new SUVs and cars look so good but make their top selling vehicle look like such complete ****? What happened to them making the full size line look cohesive? I would have been interested in a new full size in a couple of years if they looked more like the new Tahoe/Suburban. It looks like Toyota or Nissan is about to take another customer from the domestics.

By the way, the 2007 Tundra that Skinner mentioned is on the Toyota site.

The new Toyota looks like a cross between a new F-150 and a Ram. I think the new GM trucks look better, and I work at a Ford dealer.

Better Chevy pics http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?p=704673

Better GMC pics (black crew cab is mint!) http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?p=703491

I personally like the new designs. I surf gminsidenews.com several times a day for several years and always find that people hate the new designs when they first come out. To me I think these look way better then the current style. My dad just bought an 06 and Im not really a fan of the look. I would love to see a reg cab short box of either chevy or gmc. And to me, a truck isnt really a truck if it isnt made here. (aside: a buddy of mine showed me a video of trials with full size trucks on a proving grounds and the domestics dominated. The damn tundras gas cap opened and exhaust smacked the button of the bed.)

big, ugly. But seems to be smiling.

Like a goofy, ugly dog, happy to see it's owner. I have no brand loyalty, but I do like the look of the Fords (squarish, beefy). This will certainly NOT help Chevy sell more trucks, considering looks and gas prices.

You'll have to wait a bit longer, it's scheduled to be released after the new Tundra.

That looks terrible! I was looking at buying a new truck (ordering it, and waiting for delivery) and I really liked the Silverado. By the time I'd have enough money saved up, it would be towards the end of 2007, so I'd buy a 2008 model year. Well, now I may have to rethink my idea after seeing that. I like how they look now. I think the current design is the best looking the Chevrolet trucks have been since the early 70's.

I'm not a GM guy, but do you guys honestly think that the front end on these 2007's looks any worse than the 2004 - 2006 front end?

Ugh!

Now they're putting that stupid "Happy Camaro" grin on the truck grill.

Guess I'll stay with Ford awhile longer.

Except for the grill on the chevy, they look fine. Interior seems much improved. The grill on the chevy looks bad though.

Seeing as how the front end of which you speak is one of the best looking front ends they've ever had, I'd have to say yes. It's worse. Like others have said, it looks like a dodge. And dodge looks like ****. They claim that the "cross hair" grill is their "recognizable feature." What they're really saying is that they can't come up with a good design.

Also, from those pictures on the first page, the interior looks terrible. It looks fake and cheap. They should've just left the truck how it was.

GM is trying to bring back the 88-98 style grill's in a much bigger way I like that big red HD truck it is pretty nice looking as long as it doesnt scream ford or dodge when I see one close up I think I will like it but I am not sure on the half tons yet

here are my pic's you can see the big open grill 2 rectangular headlights the new truck is just alot rounder and taller then my dads old truck imo the 88-98 gmc and chevy trucks are the nicest looking trucks from 73 up the pre 73 trucks are just sweet looking stock or lifted lowerd

Unfortunately I haven't seen an actual new Sequoia. We were however building our first prototype Tundras this past week.
