I have been recently having problems with my 2009 hyundai sante fe.for the past 2 weeks its been giving me a hard time starting ,sometimes starts right away and sometimes wont start at all.i have noticed in the last week that my radio preset stations will not stay preset.i talked to one mechanic and he said it could be the computer in my car has a problem with it,(it could be the anti theft security thats built in the ignition?) i have no idea what is going on.if any one has any knowledge or input i would appreciate it thanks.

Dodgy battery or connection. Check your battery terminals and get the battery tested. A computer won't cause the radio to loose presets. Only a disconnection from the battery will cause that.

Is it cold where you are at ?

It could be a problem with relays that are frozen stuck.

Have seen that on several imports in the past few years.

X2 lost presets means loss of battery power

Good thing those got 10 year warranties right?

Anyway, wrong forum to ask on. You have an electrical problem. Because it involves the ignition system my guess is that it is not just the bcm (controls the body electronics including the stereo). You will need a mechanic that has the equipment to scan both diagnostic codes and body (electronic) codes. Or, you know, take it to the dealership because it's under warranty as far as I know.

most likely just a bad battery....especially if it is original equipment...

do the cheap, easy stuff first...replace the battery or at least have it load tested at your local parts place, they do it for free

likely will fix your Hyundai

Get a new battery. Our Taurus did that when it got cold at night. Would start fine but all the presets and the clock would be wrong. New battery fixed it.
