Here's my gatherings from the past week.. Some of the small pipe wrenches needed some cleaning and loving--so I didn't bother taking pictures until they were done.
Most of what you see came from a sale today that would not really warrant any "you ****" compliments..

The floor lamp, Lisle head-rest creeper and stool all came from a true hoarders garage. I did some serious digging last weekend to get deep into the garage-these three things were hidden under a nicely built set of garage cabinets with mattresses stacked against them..My mom snagged that large level from somewhere--it's a Crick--but it's missing one of the lenses for the vials and the lenses are all very cloudy. I"d love to restore it..

Stillson, Ridgid, and Dunlap pipe wrenches. I made a new oak handle for the Stillson on the right as the original one had a large crack in it.. I'll keep this one bare for now and let it get "old" before I ever seal it.. Or--i'll just sell it. It works perfect. Lufkin folding rule and old Lufkin tape measure (always nice to have one of these small tapes handy in the car when shopping and trying to determine size of things for fitment at home or into the vehicle..)

Couple of Craftsman wrench caddy's, Snap-On Drill grinder, Big 'ol plumb bob, Matco 1/4" nutdriver, P&C, Powrkraft and Snap-on combo wrenches, Some old S-K 1/2" drive sockets, Craftsman Sockets, misc Mac, Craftsman and Snap-On sockets and a better view of the Bernard Crimper/Cutters.

Picked this up on CL for $40 with 3 gallons of Kerosene and a 5 gallon can. 100K BTU Reddy Heater. It needed a new fuel line and fuel pressure adjusted. Had some fuel line laying around and 20 min of time to diagnose/fix the issue. This thing heats up the one car garage in just a few min.

Just sold it for $120. Quick profit.

Good stuff guys!

Just got this dropped off at my door by the USPS. S-K 47170 3/4" drive ratchet. Paid $20 on ebay.

Nice deal!

Finally, my first CL score of the year! Note to self, figure out how far away a place is before you run after it. Thinking I was only going 20 miles out of my way home from work.... it was 60. But, should be worth it.

Sweet cabinet Rick!

Not so much a garage sale but i found these at my favorite metal yard while buying some material for work.

They had some large train track ill go back for but i couldn't resist these 2 for 5 bucks.

The large wrench is a Proto 2 15/16" slugging wrench and the smaller of the 2 is a Snap on. Its not a slugging wrench but was used as one so the markings are all but gone.

Does anybody have a model number for that particular wrench? I can see the start of the script "Sna" with a line underneath but nothing past that.

That was a steal bigcaddy. Can you read the size on the Snap On?

JermeyBurke, nice find on the Buffalo Forge!

Nope, its totally obliterated from being hit with a hammer. I've seen them before on ebay but don't remember the model number to look them up again.

Hit a few sales today.

First one had very little tools, did pick up a little Dumore grinding wheel for 25 cents, mostly because it was made in my home state, Wisconsin.

Second one was even worse as far as tools but did get a full gallon of Simple Green for $3.

Third one was a new thrift store/antique store. Picked up a Wright 3/8 breaker bar and 1/4 driver, vintage Snap-On pliers, Proto Challenger 1/4 driver with the handle with the top socket hole and a Duro-Chrome 1/2 9/16 open end wrench. $2.50 total
Ran into a buddy there who told me a sale had started yesterday with a small woodworking shop, he said it was pretty picked over but it was on the way home so stopped anyways and glad I did.

Late 70's Craftsman router lettering template set ( all there I spent 10 minutes just sorting it out LOL.), wooden vise handle and screw and railroad track anvil.
Vise slip on pipe jaws for exposed screw vise, Ronsonol lighter fuel, mini Vaughn pry bar, USA made C-clamp, a fence for a 6" belt sander that fits my 1960's Craftsman perfectly, Gunk Super Oil, Bonney needle nose pliers and Mrs Smith's Bluing.
My favorite finds of the day, 3 Craftsman Crown items: rivet gun, empty pouch for combination wrenches and a working engraver. Also picked up a small wall tool holder, plastic headed hammer and part of a Bonney tube flaring tool.
Duplex hand carry tool box and vintage MSA first aid kit box.
$24 total.

Here it is, halfway through February and I finally get a score!! Only been like 6 weeks of watching you guys knock it out the park but I finally got my chance. First and only promising stop planned for today, we hit 3 more sales on the way back to get my truck but this was the only one advertising tools. He had lots of pics of newer tools in the ad but I could see a 4" Craftsman Jointer on the original stand in the background so I made it priority one today.

I get there and looks like I'm first, there is this big shiny red tool box in the driveway so I casually stroll over to it and see the price tag...$20 :eyecrazy:

pic00813.jpg

Trying not to jump out my skin, I walk over and look at the jointer that I initially came for, it's marked $50, less than I was prepared to pay so things were looking good at this point, even with the wooden motor mount and deck. :lol_hitti
pic00812.jpg

With some change left over, I start looking for a "bundle". I see this Delta sharpening grinder marked $5 :shocking: It has a chip in one stone and needs a special bolt replaced but the price was RIGHT! Had a guy try buying it from me as I was loading it  :nono: Ignore those sockets, they were not included.
pic00815.jpg

I'm on a f'n roll at this point, still the only customer there(got there 30 mins early) and still have some cash to blow. I look around behind the jointer and there is a wood lathe(more on that later) and right next to it is...wtf no he did't alien head Crown Top planer!! :willy_nil Ignore the shaper bits(more on those later).
pic00814.jpg

So I get ready for the dance, I ask how much for the bundle, he says $75...I'm shocked but keep it in while looking around to see whats left. He shows me to a big nasty RAS that I was not interested in but beside it I saw this old LONG C Craftsman Shaper, He says $15 since it's "so heavy". This is where those shaper bits come in, I'll take it!!
pic00811.jpg

I had to go get my truck to load all this stuff so I gave him $20 to hold til I got back. When we were loading, he asked if I was interested in the old wood lathe, said I could have it for $10 to make it an even $100 :willy_nil :eyecrazy: paid the man and here it is!

At those prices I'm surprised that you didn't walk out with more. There had to be an ATM on the way to pick up your truck. Just the pedestal for the jointer is worth more than what you paid for the whole lot.:bowdown:

A couple Albrecht chucks @$20/ea. (smooth as silk and perfect jaws, one is missing the knurled collar)

Found this American Scale #16 vise at an antique mall. At around $1.50/lb it was not a you **** deal but it's as close to NOS as I've ever seen. The pin can be pulled from the back jaw to allow it to swivel and grab odd shaped objects. It weighs in at around 80 lbs and is longer then it looks in the images.

94 you should be busy for a few weeks just sorting out that $100 purchase. man that was some great old stuff.

Madison: nice haul

Dave: that is one great looking vise and i'm guessing a keeper? by the way how wide are the jaws and how heavy? I love those swivel jaw old vises. looks perfect except maybe one screw on the jaw could use a little tightening or reworking and it's ready to use so a heckuva find.

Went to an estate sale and then to the flea market today, found some things I was looking for.

Old Monarch Vise from the estate sale for $40.
I think this will clean up nicely!
14sf7lz.jpg

That was it at the estate sale but the flea market turned out to be well worth it.

$5 bought these three MAC tools:
11b866c.jpg

2n07xbp.jpg

Proto snap ring pliers for $6
5nogw9.jpg

Blue point and craftsman hammers, both for $9 total.
30wse3l.jpg

All Snap On from the same seller for $35
vgogoy.jpg

The ratchet is SK, Proto extension, Williams and Plomb breaker bars/extensions, etc. all from the same seller for $25 total.
f2uft2.jpg

Napa USA 1/2 inch drive metric set with no missing sizes 13-26mm for $15.
(perfect condition, sorry bad pic, very excited as my 1/2 metric was kinda skinny)
2v29p1g.jpg

Who could resist a snap on 3/8 torque wrench for $80?
287jal1.jpg

This was kind of cool for $10.

I'm not really happy with the way some of those pics came out. (I need a better camera than my phone)

Here's another of the vise:

Also, any help with what these are used for?

CT: nice score on the tools and not sure you know this but you might have found a 100 year old vise. it might even be late 1800's. keeping it or do you need a vise with an easier swivel because if I remember correctly we are not that far from each other?

I wasn't really aware it was that old, but I've been looking for an old big vise at a good price for quite a while, so this one is going on the workbench. :)

I made the effort to get up super early this morning so i could be first in line, which i was…..only to be screwed by the estate co. It seems the family came the night before and loaded up ⅔ of the garage, or marked it not for sale, which severely curtailed my shopping. The real ****** part was the near mint Wilton Chicago 4.5" vise, with soft jaws, NOT FOR SALE:mad:

THis is what i was able to get out with for a price which was a bit more then i wanted to pay but i can make money off other items included in the pile i bought

I found lots of B&S, Starrett and Lukin machine/lathe tools but didn't see either of those. The tool boxes were off limits as was the grinders and vise.

The Craftsman ¼" set is mostly complete with doubles of the breaker bar and sliding tee plus a bonus Proto LA pear head ratchet in the box

The big screwdriver is WInchester, some Channellocks, 3 pcs of Snap on, 1 Plomb swivel socket, Heller/Blue Point body dollys, Biddell meat cleaver, Xcelite nut driver set, Blue Point drift punch and the rest of the unnamed junk in the pictures.

Oh Jeff, i figured you would be along shortly after sniffing those locks from my garage. You would of loved the little green toolbox i found those in. It was packed full of old keys/locks and other small parts. I got the good locks, not pictured, and the ones you see with the rest of the tools.

I will happily sell them to you. Just let me know how many you want.

My hat's off, nine4. That's a heap-O-**** going on.

Hit one sale today just in time to watch the mother lode of metal storage boxes load up and move out. My heart felt heavy walking past the guy packing out the boxes. Until I saw past him and started seeing red. It's a Kennedy roller, middle box, and an add on shelf for $40. Got them home in time to get the mid section inside (freaking heavy) and now its dumping rain out so the base sits in the truck for now. Plus there's no place to put it yet.
Found the HD arbor on the way out the door and the guy gave it to me for $2. It looks like part of an old line transmission that was converted into a grinder and pained blue. Even the cracked stone is painted blue, so it's clear never used it. The Columbian vise was another $2. As a bonus and not pictured is an old slim jim that looks like it's commercially made stuck in the back of the box. Happy day!

bigcaddy, if you do an Ebay search for Snap On tubular wrenches, maybe you can measure out the size of that wrench and find the part #.
