Hey Guys!
First Post in this section.
Just got back from a flea market near Rothenberg Germany (I am stationed nearby)

I've always wanted one of these cool tool trolleys, and can't believe my luck in finding one at a bargain price!
Tool-Trolley-01.JPG

Also picked up a Hazet 3/8 8816G Ratchet, and some FACOM extensions and box wrench

Hey!
Westfalia is the maker of this one, but you can find similar things by Hazet, Stahlwhile, Gedore, etc.
Werkstattwagen or Werkzeugwagen is what they are called here in Germany.

Thanks Jeff, I keep forgetting to get the size from you, I have acquired most of the standard Craftsman sockets since sending you that list  Let me know, I may already have it!

Here are today’s pick-ups; A vintage Craftsman tool box which the logo dates between 1950-1964, I’m going to put together a leather handle for it but other than that I won’t do anything more than clean it up. I paid $5 for it. Also picked up a 1 ¼” Bonney “Bonalloy” 12 pt. combo wrench, a small Williams ball-peen hammer and a 1 lb. sledge that needs a new handle. Total for the day was $11.

Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday 9!

Not much for me this weekend.
Picked up a Klien tap driver for $2.00 and a couple of Mac wrenches, Sabina OH, and a wicked looking hook of sorts from a consignment shop in Ocala.

On sat., came across another Klien threader, $.50 this time, now I have two. Also got a few stainless dishes, nice for parts holding during tear downs, god knows I have those coming.
A new 6" wire wheel for one of my assortment of grinders.

Got a chance to go to an estate sale today while the kids were napping. Chatted with the seller for a while even told him what a few of this tools were and how they were used. Tried to only come home with US made stuff. Did ok for $25.
Got a few c clamps.

Happy B-DAY Nine!

Picked up from an estate sale about a mile from the house. Estate of a former Ford dealership mechanic. Today was the 3rd day of a 3-day sale thus 50% off day. Surprised to see the stuff still there but probably the high prices and the cold weather. Reasonably priced at 50% off today though.

Vulcan/Williams metric hollow nut drivers

Happy hunting folks

:rocker: Sweet score Flyer! A nice set of Vulcan drivers is not that common. A little far from me but sounds like I missed a good one. I have to stop going out at night and get back on the sale trail!

I was determined to get in on an advertised sale that claimed to have a ton of tools. I got up at 0630 got there by 0730 for a sale that was suppose to start at 1000 and I was #43. But hey they let 25 people in at a time. Traveled 42 miles round trip and ended up with double ended adjustable wrench for $3.

Happy Birthday nine

King 3/4HP 8" Bench Grinder with stand (not in picture) for $20

It's not what I wanted bu I have been looking for a grinder for awhile and this one turned up, runs smooth and the stand alone is worth the $20 for my "Bar Table" project.

Nice stuff guys. The Klein tapping tools should clean up nicely, they are very good to have.
CLE-FORCE is a line of drills from Greenfield Industries, also very good stuff.

found these yesterday and today on Craigs that needed to be in my possession. First one is a Thor-Nado because it has a nice metal original case albeit a bit rusty and a tool I've yet to use with many good steel bits for $20. also I probably own 10 exacto knives, but nothing like this one so $7 paid to bring it home. if the blades I can buy fit in it I don't care if it doesn't retract it is going in my toolbox that I use almost daily in my car. anybody else have either of these??

by the way keep posting pictures of your stuff because even if we don't comment on every one we still enjoy looking at the tools and stuff. nice haul guys.

DIF, Cool find on the Thor! I can't recall seeing a carry case for a Thor, certainly not one that old! (110V? old!)

I'd check the wiring on that sucker VERY carefully though! I'd bet lunch the wires are rotting away inside, even if the cord looks good.

That is not an Xacto, its a Utility knife (Definace? Am I reading it right?), and quite a few guys like the old vintage ones! Nice find! Get yourself a large cork and bury the blade during storage and enjoy!

Outlaw: 110 v i'm pretty sure on the Thor and I'll take a closer look once I get it unpacked. it has a grease fitting on it too. should I attempt to take it apart and do a total restore because looks like a good working tool? also if I restore the box how in the heck do I save the emblems that I think are painted on the box?

another great tip on the little utility knife. didn't I say that or at least that what I was thinking? anyway yes Defiance 1299 on one side and Made in USA on the other side. wine cork work for the safety feature you mentioned? or something bigger because my son is a rep for a huge winery now?

now you mentioned in another thread to find colored electrician tape for your wrenches in your small toolbox which is an awesome idea. now since my memory is fading how am I going to remember which color is which size unless I use them every day? color code and sharpie big letters on top of inside of lid so I can see them when toolbox is open?

thanks again

No need to look far, Pic 4 shows 110V!

Wine cork will probably do.

you could do that for the color codes, or use a med tip sharpie on the tape on the wrench :dunno:

Cool! I have a Thor hand drill and had never heard of them before. But I researched a little and found they are REALLY good tools.

Actually Zk, I think most brushed motors are AC/DC rated. Older (at least) vacuums, hand drills, Skillsaws, etc...

Some are, the issue is typically the switch as they can't handle the higher current when used on DC. But yes quite a few of the older single speed units were rated for DC as well. Outside of angle grinders you just don't see it much these days.

Not my sale, but a co-worker helped his girlfriend clean out her grandfather's stuff. He took home a Reed vise and a 1970-vintage Craftsman drill press, among other stuff. He saved some stuff from the garbage for me:

A Dremel Speed Control, and a Penncraft wrench roll (empty). Hopefully the roll will be reunited with some Penncraft wrenches soon!

Hit a few sales Friday. First one had plenty of tools but not much I needed especially at the prices he wanted. Did see a cool old Atlas drill press rigged up with two motors for slow speed, one ends up being a jackshaft. Did pick up a 1" thick 20" by 24" steel plate and a 4" steel cube for $22 total. Picture is after wire wheeling and for the cube, belt sander as well. The big plate has a little too much corrosion damage for a nice welding table, that is the good side LOL. May cut it up for vise stand. Thinking about my vintage Craftsman machinist vise on one end and my KR Wilson small arbor press on the other end.

Next stop was a moving sale, picked up a working Craftsman meter, Wilton USA made small exposed screw vise, Proto 4" red handle adjustable wrench, working AAA Maglite from the now closed Shreveport GM plant, Craftsman vise grips, Channellock pliers, Bonney needle nose and Bahco Adjustable wrench. $24 total.

Next stop was an estate sale, I passed on a decent Craftsman block grinder for $45 because I have about 6 already LOL plus a American Scale swivel jaw swivel base vise for $100. Was real tempted on the American Scale until I saw the dynamic jaw had beend brazed back on to the slide. I did pick up the cool little Cities Service oil can which has the cap with a separate screw on nozzle attached to th side so you never lose it. Also picked up another Channellocks, several Craftsman items, 3/8 RHFT, like new Crown label 7" saw blade and vitage green head hammer. Also picked up a Enderes cats paw puller, Klein adjustable wrench and linesmans pliers with blue handles and Kraeuter side cutters. The two cast iron wheels will be used for small living room cart and the flexible neck lamp will need a total rewire. $35 total.

On the way home and found a sale in my neighbor hood that wasn't advertised LOL. Lady said she had lots of tools at 7 AM but hardly any now LOL. Still picked up a cool folding draw knife, interesting tape measure device used for calculating TNT demoliton charges, small collection of vintage Snap On sockets, sliding handle and 1/4 driver. Also a Plomb 3/8 ratchet missing the selector lever and 4" Crescent wrench. Total was only $3!

Last picture is some stuff I picked up a week ago Saturday on the way to the Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras parade in Shreveport, Estwing hammer, Mac 1/2D 1/2" wobble impact socket and Diamalloy adjustable wrench $6 total.

I have that same adjustable wrench. Its the older Made in Sweden style, and the movable jaw is reversible to use as a pipe wrench. Nice finds!

Wow I didn't notice that! I turned it around to try it out, that is cool! It's wierd because you use it "backwards" from a regular pipe wrench.

So, the last week and a half has been an adventure... so much so, that I've been sitting on these for that long and finally am posting about it. So I snagged all these goodies, then we had a wind storm, which knocked down a branch that cracked during that ice storm a few weeks back.... then while doing repairs on the roof (2 softball sized holes), the water heater blew, flooding my basement. Yea, it's been fun. So anyway....

Snagged a 8-Drawer JCPenny's branded Kennedy box for the misses. She now has two Kennedy boxes for her art supplies :)

Also snagged the mystery box and a Brown & Sharpe level for another $20.

Not sure of the make of the little box, but it looks a lot like a Union. Anyway, so inside the mystery box...

... a ton of taps and dies. Mostly Ace and Craftsman, there's Greenfield, Vermont American, and other brands mixed in as well.

....so then I went to my local retool store, and definitely splurged. Why do I now have the obsessive desire to save every BE and Circle H socket I see? Although I did need most of these for my sets.

Mostly BE, a few Circle H, including my first deep 1/2" drive. A pair of New Brittain's, a pair of SK's, a Bonney, a Armstrong, a Plomb... a Cman C series socket, and one =V=. Oh, and that SO wrench too, debating building a set of that design. All for roughly $2.50 a piece. Steep, but a very cool guy who I like to support... and need to introduce him to evaporust too.
