thank you for the response Outlaw, the gun needs a good cleaning. My friend admitted he never cleaned it while he owned it, but only put 100 rounds thru it, so I am going to try and disassemble it and clean it before I shoot it, just to see what it looks like.

If anyone can identify the adapter piece in the bottom right corner, I'd appreciate it. I believe it to be a part to a Craftsman power tool.
Could that be one of those hold down clamps for a table saw crosscut sled? They had a thing that screwed onto the handle and had a bolt like thing that went to the board to hold it tight.

Got the rifle cleaning kit for $2. Unfortunately the bottle of nitro solvent leaked out and is now empty.
Craftsman oil can was .50c
Bolt/screw gauge was .50c
Unopened can of spray foam was also .50c (it still has the $7.99 price tag on it)
Its still very early in the garage sale season up here so I am lucky to find one or two each weekend. It will be a few weeks before things really pick up and then there will be dozens each weekend

Found this nice Sioux bench grinder with stand today for $35. Thought it was a good deal. Anyone care to guess at the age? I may restore it or use as is. I needed a better grinder to wire wheel with. This fits the bill nicely.

Hegner: that grinder looks awesome and for $35 if it runs you got a deal. i haven't heard or seen that brand before, but yes i agree it's worth restoring. it is missing a couple end covers and tool rests, but the gauge on that cast is grinder **** if you ask me.

i struck out this weekend... tried, but nothing outstanding for me to bite on.

Speaking of my Dad's grinder, I spent a little time this afternoon getting the guard back on which took removing the 6" wheel and replacing it with a 5" wheel that fit..
Then I discovered the right side bearing was shot. so I took the right housing shell off, and got the bearing out and yep, loose as a goose! I'm thinking I'll need to get into a bearing house on Monday for the ****** thing, but first, this is Outlaw's place, lets see what I have in stock:

and I start digging under the aircraft pulleys:

And damn if it wasn't a match Both bearing numbers ended in "202", and both were dimensionally the same, with similar guards!
I get it all back together and test spin it, and everything is now kosher!
Well not everything: this is the mess my dad made of the cord, and the usual replacement around here, a server's (heavier) power cord (my last one I need to get some more...)
That took another 30 min or so: besides the cord I needed a ground lug and a fast-on spade to power the switch, other than that it was the usual get the strain relief out of the "D" hole then the new cord and the strain relief back in...
The side without any guard will get a wire wheel. I may have a half guard I can hang over there; I'll have to look.
This one will NOT get painted and made pretty. Its a Dayton, but made in Taiwan, and only 1/5 HP.. Very light duty. I'm not even sure it will pull a wire wheel...
If not, I'll gift it to one of my friends, or possibly my brother for light use.

Today I found this 6" York. It appears to be rarely used, if it was ever used. Still has what seems to be the factory packaging grease on the screw. I paid $35.00, I wasn't even going to try and get it for cheaper.

Caos: i think i like those York vises better than my Wilton vises. nice find and for $35 you might be able to put some more money into some paint for a new color on it and still have a You **** price.

I was able to get back to the "mouse nest" sale from friday for Dollar Day. I picked up two pieces of thick rubber sheet, a can of brass nuts, a vial of small screws/bolts, and a crown top Craftsman Small Electric Drill bit set (missing 1 bit, and the holder is broken). All for $3.

I drove out to an estate sale in New Braunfels Saturday, about half an hour, to check out one item they had listed. I got there early and waited for two hours. It turns out they checked the internet for the price on a Blackhawk bantam Porto-o-power box. It was a bit rough, and they wanted $250, which was out of my budget, especially since I don't need it.
Anyway I did pick up a few things.
Everything on the desk except for my scroll saw, plus a few things not shown for my wife and kids. Approximate price $90.
One of my favorite, this old Luxo lamp:
I think the previous owner spent some time at Western Auto. A few tools branded as such, and others that likely came from them.
What I "assume is an older" Japanese sae tap an die set. It's missing the tap wrench, but I'm not complaining since I found the GTD replacement off to the side.
Anyway I did pick up a few things.

Pliers are channel lock, the two universals are snap-on 1/2".
The wrench up top is a craftsman one side wont ratchet.. seized with either junk or rust haven't looked into it. Do you think sears will warranty it? I'm doubtful they will because of age.
