Thanks Guys!

May be bluebolt, it's dated 12/2013 so either late last years model or early this years model. I am beyond thrilled, speechless over here. It came with the tie down harness but was missing the original pilot pins, chip hook and hex key according to the manual. One thing I like is the lil Made In U.S.A. sticker :thumbup

Hmmm...I'm thinking that was stolen, if not by him, then definitely by you!

Here's one purchase I got real excited over. A fine condition Ridgid 2300 3/8" ratchet made by Wright. Bought it for $1. It was the replacement rat. in a cheapo Taiwan set. I picked it up to ask if it was for sale separately and before I could open my mouth the guy said a dollar!

Very nice. I like the red vs the usual black grip. Is there a letter R in the bottom of the grip?

I saw the date on the label and thought it may have a 1yr mfg warranty so I called the number you see and told the guy that the drill would not power on and asked if there were any repair places local. He asked what thickness metal the drill was on, I told him 3/16", he said it needs either 3/8" or 5/8" to power on, I can't remember right now because I'm still shaking in shock... I ran outside and grabbed this piece of plate and it fired right the f' up...I tried posting a video but can't upload it with my phone like I can pics...

This thing has NEVER been used. EVER :eyecrazy:

Just damn  The maintenance guys at work keep a shop made drill press base out of thick plate just for that reason when drilling thin wall pipe and the like. Maybe ask the PO if he has any of the bits for it :dunno: Enjoy it.

No, it's not pretty and I didn't need it, but it was 50 cents and it's Facom. I'm sure it will come in handy as a pocket screwdriver

I studied Nine's pix of his slugger carefully. All suckage is removed. Pix is OK, but the drill is a phony -- not real. Therefore, I will pay you postage Mr. Nine, to send me that phony drill. Whatever postage is, just let me know. I don't care about the cost. Send it to me for proper disposal. It needs to be put to rest up here in Wisconsin. So just let me know the cost and I will gladly get rid of it for you.:fingersx: (PS I don't worry about the cost of postage in order to do the right thing for you.)
Cheers,
JimDon

ecotec you ****!

That was my very first "you ****". Everything that looks like rust is dirty sticky orangey saw dust.

Still need to find- bus load of 1950's (rust free) steel upper kitchen cabinets (including at least one corner cabinet), vintage table saw, vintage router table, vintage floor jack

I have a plan!

Nine....you just hit a home run in the Super Suckage World Series! Awesome, man!

The rest of you are all doing pretty well too. Wish I had time to go shopping myself. But not for the next 3 weeks yet.

Sigh.:(

Found something I did not know Craftsman made, a lug wrench. Part # 44889, For the 3$ I spent, I probably used more in gas getting it.

For no reason to me other than it looks cool as all hell. Price was right for the badge alone.

Thanks Guy!! Be on the lookout for mag drill bits to trade, you know I need them now, you got me over a barrel! :lol_hitti

Ecotec, YOU ****! I love the old round top grinders and that Atlas is freakin sweet! I'm actually in the process of refurbing the floor model like that.

Dave, that is a cutting fluid reservoir that injects fluid out the the center of the cutting bit. They recommend using "Slugger" cutting fluid and flushing with water, anyone know where I could get the lugger fluid or comparable cutting fluid cheap?

Swampcat, I too was unaware about the lug wrench until Flatintoone found two, yes two at a sale recently and I swapped for one. Thanks again Flat! You really have to inspect EVERYTHING. I saw what I believed to be an ordinary Stanley pocket level the other day on my scrap guys trailer and almost let it go to scrap. Luckily, I decided to have a closer look and when I wiped away the dirt, it read in old script "Craftsman". Yeah, I paid the man and put it in my pocket...I see all kinds of widgets at sales marked Craftsman and that has become my mission, to find the uncommon or things you would not realize it's branded Craftsman.

Look for the strange

Which size are yours?

I have a Craftsman cross lug wrench I bought new back in the day. 18" IIR the "Big" one (might be a bigger one) I just recently "rediscovered it" in one of my old cars. A little rust, but completely useable.

Went to the used tool store in St. Louis this week.

The pliers are Kraeuter No 1841 - 6 1/2. The 1" c clamp with the slider handle is marked Craftsman. The one with the knurled knob and the fine threads is unmarked. $5 for the lot.

I saw in a catalog scan online that there were at least a couple different sizes of the Craftsman lug wrenches. I knew there were name-brand lug wrenches out there, they are just one more thing I check for names.

The most unusual Craftsman item I think I ever had was Crown logo hair clippers.

Of course they do, just like how quincy has a "special" oil for their compressors. It's just a generic water soluble cutting fluid. No need to buy their branded fluid.

A while back someone gave me a crown logo kitchen knife. Never knew those existed. :dunno:

I wonder who the original mfg of that set was. I can't tell in the pics probably GTD.

I have seen 2 now of a Craftsman tap handle that has a storage spot for taps inside the handle. Stamped "Made in Norway". I passed both times because I just don't need any more tap handles, lol.

3 planned stops this morning, two of which I had to hit twice due to time. I went to the 7am and then passed by the two 8am stops but they were not open so I had a biscuit and hit them again. Luckily they were all within 2 miles of the shop, runs did not take long this morning, spent $40 total.

First stop I grabbed the Lawson cabinet and Petersen Vise Grips, got the rest at the other two stops.

You ****!!

x2.

But I am no longer jealous of nine4gmc and his "gobs" of time to scour sales during the week during working hours.

I only hope to some day be semi-retired like him and his $1,000,000+ 401k account to draw from. I to aspire to that some day. And I'm getting there. :)

This is from lunch. Wish I would have gotten there when it opened. Started with $25 for the vise and ended up paying $60 for everything.

IMG_7946.JPG

Vise is a 5" Chas Parker , four USA 11 welding vise grips, two USA 18 welding vise grips, two 8" wilton c-clamps, two 6" wilton c-clamps, two 3" wilton c-clamps, Klein nutdrivers (now I want a whole set of these!), the wrenches are all Armstrong (largest is 1 3/8"), the little wrench is a proto with a weird end (missing saltus?), and the sockets are SK on the right and three snap-ons on the left.

Nice haul for $60, vise is awesome and those wilton c-clamps are great, I have a couple
