Bought a 17 inch delta dp from 1942 had vintage delta motor and it was heavy $75

When I was loading it up I asked about the pile of tools and scrap metal. Seller said take anything I wanted. Since he was so kind I took it all including the garbage to get rid of for him since he wanted to get rid of the "pile". He said I saved him a trip to the town dump. The stuff was out in the rain a couple days so I will get to put some evaporust to use. Turned out to find some rough gems including ridgid plumbing tools some machinist stuff dremel engraver sk snapon sockets and a bunch of rusty mystery items. I offered him some cash and he was just glad to have someone cart the "junk" away. Hard to believe people throw tools away.

It's been so busy lately, I forgot to post my finds lately, lol... In no particular order, because at this point, I forget...

Pretty cool old lamp for $5. Didn't even take dirty pics, cleaned and rewired it while watching the Eagles on Sunday. The rewired it again Monday after I realized the switch was bad...

Killer clamp, and the Stanley brace is mint, with bits.

Friend of mine who sells kiddie stuff on the weekends at the flea markets spotted and picked this up for me.

Randomness found while wondering with Mavawreck... in the bag is about 1/2 of a 192 piece CMan set, lol.

My finds from last Saturday.... paid slightly higher than a fair clip, but well worth it, not letting the index go, lol.

Dang! Looks like you cleaned up at the other flea market. Nice meeting ya and thanks for grabbing the vise!

Good deal all around. What table does the 17" have? Based on that 1st pic it looks like you need another drill press. :lol_hitti

It does have the production table with a couple holes...no arc

Im collecting drill presses for the filming of "hoarders drill press edition"

Figured the misses has a closet full of shoes .. I need a garage full of old drill presses
Long term plan is to restore a couple and pass the rest along. Keep getting them cheaper than the parts I am missing off the others...its a vicious cycle of illogical thinking

Thanks guys.
Head on shot as requested. I believe 14" (measure to the post and double?) Could be 13 as it measures like 6.5". 1942-43.
Included in the shot are two indexes I picked up recently, as the cool cast one above is getting everyone hot and bothered, although mine are not as cool. And the tap chart in the background for a dollar.

that looks so awesome. I want one now

There's something about a DP with a mohawk that creeps me out.

I picked up this 250 ft-lb digital torque wrench at a garage sale for $10. It did not turn on. Westward is Grainger's house brand. I popped in a couple of fresh AA cells and it came to life.

Later I went to the County hazardous waste site to drop off some used motor oil and antifreeze. They have a "Reuse Room" for stuff that is still good. I almost fainted when I saw a can of Kroil. I also picked up the primer and paint cans, all of them pretty full or unused. The Reuse room is Free!

that Brittish index is cool!

So, update on mine cause I thought it was kinda funny.... threw it into the evaporust to get any corrosion off of it, and 3 days later...

a nearly perfect dirt ring  It's actually sitting a 1/2" below the surface. Not sure what the metal is, steel leaves a black film, brass leaves a yellow film... this is a medium-gray film.

It is hard to believe! I used to take scrap to the yard almost every weekend. It's unreal what some people throw away. I've seen a whole MAC tool chest, and a giant vise. The guy that worked there said it weighed almost as much as an engine block.

Was out today at garage sales and came across a rotating 3-sided Owatonna Tool Company (OTC) Store/Service Station/Sales Display with cast iron base. Each side is 28-1/2 inches by 16 inches, with company logo showing they were out of Owatonna Minnesota USA.

I'd not run across this before, so bought it.

Pictures attached and wondered if anyone had found a similar rotating version for the Owatonna Tool Company.

Nothing worth taking pictures of, but I picked up a like new Makita 7.5amp 4.5" grinder for $30 at a garage sale today. I've been meaning to buy a second grinder for years, but it's been low on my list of expenditures; for half the cost of new I pulled the trigger.

Rick, the bench model is 169 lbs, without the table lift and vari-slo option, that one is probably about 200 lbs or better. Be sure to lower the table to the base, then lower the head on to the table and bring a hand truck. PLEASE do no damage that table lift or vari-slo :scared:

Good find, I'm crossing my fingers for you!

Seller is dreaming on a 400 lb weight. Nine is a lot closer, but it could edge a bit north of the 200 mark (just not double... )

Lots of nice pickups guys! you are a bunch of pickup artists!

It's raining here (finally) so I suspect this will be 3 weeks in a row of no yard sailing for me: 2 'cause I was chasing Bambi, and now rainy weather...

Looking good guys. Love all the tool displays being found.

I made a few stops last weekend.
First Pic : all Snap On from a yard sale, along with the TRW 1/4 breaker bar and Firestone 3/8 and 1/2 extensions in the second pic. Nothing to scream about except maybe the nice long 1/2" to 3/8" extension adapter. Missed missed out on a blue handle 3/8 Snap On breaker bar to the one other customer.

Second pic: Flea market finds for a few bucks. Western Auto Wrench, Wright,Plomb, Fleet,Snap On,Chromium Vanadium T- handle, Interesting Hinsdale 9/32" drive extension

Spent near 100 total.

Now how to describe this estate sale? Shady-poorly run- word of mouth(except for the one hand written barely noticeable sign)- full on hoarder house- goat path-enter at your own risk-pitch black creepy basement-everything rusty-free for all-fill a bucket- haggling barely welcome- Fun though? Heck Yeah.

Lots of rusty treasures.
Found that white flashlight there, it saved my **** because the basement was pitch black,no electric in the house.

A lot of old Husky(some in the box too), some Craftsman, Taiwan Master Mechanic, nothing too grand but I'm sure there was something buried in the mess there.

About $35

Man, you really killed it with your last to posts. The Firestone branded tools are made by Plvmb and I also think I might see some Craftsman sockets that have the Circle U marked maker. Those are also made by the almighty "P" word. Well done!!!

Not much listed this weekend worth going to. My first stop was an "estate sale" that listed tools, it turned out to be 1 small room in the basement sparsely stocked with the leftovers from a tenant that moved out and left their trash and pickings behind. A pure waste of time and gas.

The second stop was a sale at a collectables hoarder's estate that seemed to have a fetish for rabbit figurines. Three rooms with tables packed solid with them. :eyecrazy: Most of the few tools in the garage were newer cheap no-name imports.

I walked out with $2 less in my pocket and 3 gallons less in the tank for my troubles.

Pic 1 - 50¢ each
Machinery's Handbook 17th ed. (1966)
wire bending jig (japan)
telescoping magnetic pick-up tool (I just broke mine, again)
Wiss #114 scissors (the only quality thing worth grabbing)

2 more listed for tomorrow, we'll see if they're any better.

Neat little pile from shop/carport sale, really more like a shop estate sale.
I spotted the box of hole saws, marked $2/ box, I asked to confirm and it was $ 2 for the box. There's a couple of 4" that was brand new. Guess I'll have a hole saw collection along with c clamps and block grinders.
Rest of the items are .25 to 2.00 finds.

3bay - Nice finds! that CI fry pan is Griswold so great score! and the body hammer - Proto of Plvmb? Lots of other good stuff, but those 2 popped at me.

Flashlight- I ALWAYS carry a single AA LED pocket flashlight for that reason! even if it's lit, I use it in dark corners and cabinets.

Jake - Re "(the only quality thing worth grabbing)" That MH for cents fifty was a quality item!

CB - Those hole saws look to be good quality. Great score!
