Great stuff (as usual). I peaked at your high-res pics. Very clear. Easy on the eyes.

I lost my camera in my garage a few months ago; it was not very good so..... I'm in need of a new camera. If I might ask, what did you use to take the pics?

All those pics were taken with a Canon SX20IS that is about 5 years old or so. I am not a good photographer or one who reads alot of manuals so it has served me well. I'll bet I have not tapped 1/10th of its abilities.
I would speculate on the used market a similar camera would be a bargain.

I stopped at the pawnshop on the way home from work Friday and spent 30 minutes digging through the loose socket buckets.

I work QC engineering at an automotive OEM, and while the company buys nice tools for us (generally snap-on) the popular sizes are almost always missing from the QC community toolbox. The company will replace them (eventually), but it is slow and just a general PITA (think bureaucracy).

So I picked up the following for $7 - I'll throw half of them in the community toolbox, and keep the rest at my desk to restock in a year or two when they have all disappeared again.

There's one Snap-On, one Blue Point, and a handful of Husky and Cman USA in the lot.

3/8F to 1/2M adapter
10mm, 1/4dr, qty 5
10mm, 3/8dr, qty 3
10mm, 1/2dr, qty 1
12mm, 1/4dr, qty 11
12mm, 3/8dr, qty 9
14mm, 1/4dr, qty 1
14mm, 3/8dr, qty 6

I caught up with a friend today at the flea market and finally got what he had been saving for me

Plomb tools!!

He sells truck brands so plomb is not on his radar and he saves them all for me. This was all had for 25.00

The ratchets are pretty early and the 1/4" is another style I've never seen before. All are pretty clean but they will be gone through to check for internal problems and dried lube

Not pictured is a pair of Snap on Vacu-Grip pliers I found for a few bucks

how many plvmb tools were made? were they once everywhere years ago like craftsman and just been rusted and thrown away or was it low production on these?

Got a free sign from work. If it's original to the building, it's from the 40s. 20x14.

Picked this old Snap On bottom box up yesterday. It is a little rough and is missing the roll up door. I have not got a chance to find the date code and check it. Need to clean up the slides and re grease them and put it to use. Not a bad box for $50 I think

Those roll a bench boxes are my favorite, you **** for $50. My dad has one I hope I'm fortunate enough to take over one day. It has the power outlet and light, he inherited from my grandfather. He bought it new in the 60's, yours looks older judging by the badge and handles, maybe late 40's early 50's?

BC Nice Plvmb score! (again!),

Cool sign Thundermug,

Blue Bolt and Drake Nice boxes! Drake, is the roll up missing or just all the way back inside?

I picked up some freebees tonight. A couple of old Navaho CB base stations, a control box off an antenna rotor...

Thee Mics and a Field, strength/SWR meter...

And my personal fav, this odd ball little lamp. It uses the long aquarium style, tube type bulb, no goose neck whatsoever, has some pivot at the head and that short stem to the base. it would have to sit on top of something and peak over the edge. Needs a cord and a clean up but that's about it.

It was a new pair of motor munts for his 1991 Mustang 5.0 (about $11 each online) and some used subframe connecters for the same that had been cut off the car and needed new tabs welded on. It was part of a huge stash I got for free cleaning out an estate. I bought some of the other stuff, some of the more expensive items I have been selling on commission (50/50) and a bunch like this they just gave me. To most people it was scrap but being a Ford guy I knew what it was.

And he delivered the box to me as well!

Got these over the past few weeks. Finally have the long C Craftsman freed up. It was completely filled with **** and still needs more cleaning.
Now what does one do with 9/32 snappy bar and plvmb ratchet? Anyone with a cheap set of sockets?

Hit two sales today on the affluent side of town. One was an estate that was right on Lake St.Clair and the property bordered the house/grounds of Edsel & Elenanor Ford.
Spent less than a $100 and ended up with what I believe to be some rare/unique Plomb/Ranger AT items. spanner wrenches, extensions, combo wrenches etc. along with some SK sockets, Bonney extension,Craftsman sockets etc and a big piece of brass/bronze decoration.

Second sale had a few tools and after some digging came up with these:
PowrKraft metric socket set, looks complete, some interesting pliers, channelocks,Vaco screwdrivers ,Armstrong wrenches. This sale was a little easier on the wallet at under $50.

I would consider myself pretty knowledgeable on plvmb tools but I have never heard of the ranger stamped tools. Anyone have any ideas about their history??

This weekend the estate sales were pretty void of tool selections but I managed to score at a garage tool sale I found on Craigs list. Found a good amount of Starrett machinist tools; Starrett large and small dial indicator sets, feeler gauges, thread gauge, two levels & a couple of 0-1 micrometers. Some Snap-on sockets, a Mac impact driver set, Blue Point snap ring pliers, Snap-on long 1/4dr extension, two Craftsman 3/8dr ratchets; RHFT & a V-Selector. Also a Craftsman metric ignition wrench set and small Mac wrench.

Found this little anvil at a local flea in Statesboro, Ga, I'm here for Thanksgiving, I got sorta lost in Augusta, trying to find SR 25 South, these people name roads after people and I missed the loop around ( too funny ) for me. Anyway, I also found these other items at another place.

I know these are not tools but this is what I like and they will go good in the barn.

That little anvil is too cool are there any markings on it? Someone gave me one of the same shape and size, but it is aluminum. :( It just doesn't look right for some reason.

Not aluminum, my daughter was crunching walnuts with it for a pie tomorrow !

No markings that I can see at this time, I'm going to soda blast it and paint it red.

I told my daughter not everyone has one of these, But I do!

I took a tip from a fellow member and checked out a guy liquidating his workshop due to health reasons

I got in before the big sale and picked a few items. This was the best score and was in a SK 1/2" socket set

It has been engraved but I don't think it's ever been used:D

1/2" drive 14" snap on breaker bar

I hit a few estate sales today and did ok.

The first sale was really picked over - the only thing worth looking at was an old Buffalo Drill press but they wanted $200. Too much!

Jim: I just saw a friend on Facebook offer an old Buffalo workbench drill press model for $250 and I considered but thought it was too much as well. What is reasonable?

Hit a good one today! All from one sale
First two pictures are from one box. Nothing big, a bit of Craftsman, Kraueter, Snap On, Mac Sabina, SK, Proto and others.

And now the good stuff.
Third pic all Craftsman from top to bottom
"Long C" square
NOS Crown label 6" grinding wheel rings nice
Crown label plastic socket box with ratchet and sockets, missing the 1/4"
"V" selector 3/8" ratchet
Late 70's rectangular label punch and chisel roll about half full
"Long C" hand saw
Brake adjusting tool
Small C-clamp
NOS coarse and fine wire wheels in the package!
Long pry and alignment bar
"Large C" scratch awl
Early utility knife
"Large C" sliding square

Fourth pic
Dunlap push drill with bits, dis-assembled for pic. Works fine with a little oil.
Decent Lufkin 100' tape measure
S-K Wayne 3/8F to 1/4M adapter
Proto dykes and 9/16 nutdriver
Champion flex ratchet
Kraueter pliers
Silver pliers that has too small lettering for me to read LOL.

Fifth pic
Craftsman Crown label Router and Sabre saw (with manual) tables

Sixth and seventh pic. A friend found these manuals in the trash. Too bad the tools were not there! The seller gave them to me for free.

$70 total

Got a call from a friend about a sale. Heavy rain here (normal for this time of the year) so I was surprised he was out.

I'm into sheetmetal work for Traditional Hot rods so he's on the lookout for tools. A good Score at a great price

3 sheetmetal edge rollers for beading.
2 are Peck Stow and Wilcox and the 3rd is one I've not heard of - EasyEdger.

I also got some wire benders which I have no use for but for the package price of $40 for all 7 pieces --- I'm more than satisfied.

I've already got a bead roller but these edger's are just neat.
