2015 GJ new years resolutions

i'm usually a reasonable and friendly guy, but i'm also opinionated and sometimes stubborn .
i know that things posted on the interweb dont always convay humer or sarchasm
but i try to be a normal/decent/ even keeled guy
that said heres my resolutions for 2015.
1) dont judge members on their brand of tools.
2) dont judge anyone on the tools they like.
3) dont judge any members on $ they spent on their tools.
so far i think i've been cool on those points since i'v joined this board,
4) not get sucked into threads that have been covered a hundred times-yes i did post recently in the 6pt vrs 12pt socket thread.
5) not get sucked into threads that are just stirring up ****.

I'm gonna spend less time online and more time in the shop. So far this weekend I have cleaned and organized the shop, finished one small project and pulled in the Toyota to finish the engine replacement. It's only been two years since the old engine slung apart......


I think I'll have it running by Sunday night....ish

When I found this site I felt like I found a gold mine of information that was damn useful. Well, couple years later and I find myself behind this computer more than I would like to admit. Somewhere along the lines I racked up 155 thread subscriptions. Yeah, not all of them are active, but it still takes a chunk of time to catch up on the ones that are. Time to change it up and go out and put all that info to use.

Learn to finish what I've started. I have horrible ADHD and consistently have a minimum of 3 major projects going on and countless little projects. Things ranging from building a motorcycle (or 3) down to painting the new attic access I installed a few months ago.
It's really nice when a day comes up that I don't have plans, which is very rare, since I always can find more then a handful of quick 1 day projects to wrap up, but it starting to get a little overwhelming all the **** I still need to finish up.

Something I struggle with every year, but am slowly getting better. Stop when I realize the other person is just too stupid to argue with.

Spend less time on the forum here, less time multitasking.

Stop handing out information that is easily searchable (usually covered in the past 2 weeks).

To work really really hard. Do as much overtime as possible. Get a second job. Get a third job on the weekends to make more money. Then spend it all buying more tools so the Toolman can put his kids through college.

1) I do this and probably won't change. If somebody doesn't know any better, I don't judge them for buying all the Harbor Freight / Task Force **** they want.

However, once they know there are better tools available, if they don't start upgrading I start writing them off as sloppy, tool slobs, morons. It could be that they just don't care. As for me, if I have to do a less than pleasant job, quality tools can make a big difference. When I was a kid, my dad bought the cheapest **** tools he could find. Even the simplest jobs turned into fiascos. I think the only halfway decent tools he had was a Challenger socket set.

Yes, I understand money is an issue. I have gotten some killer deals on Proto and Wright on eBay.

3) I don't do this at all unless people are dumping cash into **** tools.

5) Depending on my mood, if somebody wants a fight I will bring it.

Not sure what vintage you are thinking about, but a KRA62 would be a nice top. The old road chest, built like a tank. The common KR550 would also fit, but not as interesting. Maybe a 537?

Negative resolution: not reading any Sears/Craftsman-bashing threads. No sense in wasting my time that way, I've got plenty of other good ways to waste time.
