Didn't see a single thing there I that I would choose over another brand even with the sale price.

I saw one thing. The Craftsman bit socket set on page 63 shows the old USA case and has the "as seen on TV" logo in the ad. I checked the actual product page and it shows the new imported set with the same sale price.

You can get a number of these online right now. There were also a number of these in displays on the floor when I stopped by a store today.

Save your money the 42 PC CHINA made bit set is worthless. My wife bought me one and the ratchet is the sorriest POS I have ever had in my hands. Makes HF ratchets look like 80 tooth Snappys. The bits are soft, soft softer than an 80 years old mans pecker. I've already broke or twisted several shanks, warranty is worthless as they will just replace it with the same low quality chit.

That 230-pc mechanics set looks tempting for $90. Anyone know if it's China or USA?

Edit:
On second thought...it's $99 right now. It ain't worth $10 to fight the crowd...

It looks nice in the pictures, but if you check the content it is not a killer deal - they count every bit and hex wrench.

I know they do. In all honesty, I don't need it. I have 2 of the 283-pc sets just sitting around not being used. I like the 'briefcase' style blow molded case better, as I can carry it around, unlike the larger tool sets (tool-box style case with 3 drawers and a lid). They're great for the trips to the junkyard.

A bare, empty 230-pc molded case is $35...for another $60 I can get it full of tools :dunno:

China for sure. Has not been USA for at least 3 years now.

OK, thanks. Last I knew, all the tool sets in the molded cases were USA, but all the individual stuff on the shelves were China. My last 283 piece kit I bought early this year was all USA...

You have that backwards. The sets in the cases have slowly been getting replaced with Chinese-made tools over the past several years, while the individual sockets and wrenches were the last holdouts. Within the past couple of months Chinese-made tools have been replacing those as well.

The 283-pc set was discontinued and replaced with a Chinese-made 323pc set. It was one of the last USA sets left on the shelves.

The Black and Decker weedwhacker with two 20v lithium batteries for 69$ seems like a deal. I'd buy it just for the batteries as I already have Black and decker weedwhacker, hedge trimmer, leaf blower and drill that use these same batteries.

I have one of those XSP shop vacs that are $69 on Black Friday. Works great. Strong suction, generous hose, generous cord, decent set of included accessories. I was also surprised at how relatively quiet it was compared to my old shop vac. Nice casters. Also, fairly light if you need to carry it around. Nice and large easy-to-use on/off switch on the top. I'd recommend the XSP line if you are looking for a shop vac. The XSP line was definitely well thought out when they designed them, very user-friendly compared to my other 20 year old shop vac.
