Some flea market finds from Naples Italy today -

From left to right,
Robur (new brand for me) 32 mm/28 mm
Omma (another new brand) 22/19
USAG 29/27
USAG 19/18
No Brand - just says DIN 894 Drop Forged 30
No Brand - 22/20 Drop Forged India
SK 7/8 Combo

2 Gallon Columbia Oil Company can. I think I paid $20. Guessing that's about 4x what it's worth.

Stainless steel brace. Marked "Lewis Brothers London" - maybe for medical/surgical use? I paid $10, but have no idea what it's worth.

Maserati pedal car - I didn't buy it - he was asking $1,000. That would be full retail, from what I could tell. Still pretty cool.

Headed to Hungary (Budapest) in a few days. Will hit a flea market or two while I'm there.

Ciao,

Scott

Hemi I would like to find a matching Cman bottom cabinet like that. Nice!

Top that looks like an interesting haul as usual. What's the ratchet? An OTC? The breaker bar looks it.

The breaker bar is but the ratchet is unmarked, only made in USA on one side and the backside has worn off some

Here's this weekends flea market finds.
The pliers are of interest. They are marked "Oxwall Tool Co. British Germany Zone" Must have been made shortly after WW2.

Loved your post, Bulletpruf. That Columbia oil can is really cool. I hope it will clean up a bit for you. And you're right; that Maserati model car is awesome.

Went back to the estate sale today since it was 1/2 off... Still a few good finds....

One thing I couldn't believe didn't sell was this Craftsman drill press milling attachment. I think I paid $9 for it.

The gallon bags of stuff were like .75 to $1... Had a little Stanley rasp, router bit new in box, router collet & wrenches and other accessories, rip guides for saws, just miscellaneous odds & ends that I could use.

For $5 I bought another Craftsman 200 tooth saw blade that was still new in the package. It's not as nice as the used Kromedge I got yesterday but still... lol. There were all the saw blades still there today. I tried to get him to do a package deal but no dice. :(

Also found the honing jig for chisels & blades and such! $1 for that puppy! I'm upset because someone bought the NICE super-fine honing stone, which I saw yesterday but couldn't find the jig! I have some other stones that will work for now till I find one that is nicer.

An unopen bottle of Bayer weed control (24D) for $.75, saves me a trip to the store!

A 48" swanson adjustable square, $9.50 for it, about half what a new one would cost and this one looks basically unused... I've been needing one bad. The two yardsticks were a $1 I think... The metal one is an old Sears, the wood one is a local company.

All in all, only spent $25 today at the estate sale....

Went to an auction afterwards, stayed about an hour after it started and left. Things just were so much junkier than how they looked in the pictures. :( Wasn't worth baking in the sun all afternoon for a few things to bid on that would probably go higher than what I wanted to pay. Maybe next one...

Some interesting things at the auction, lots of OLD vehicle analyzer equipment...

The funniest thing I saw was the oscilloscope with a box over the screen and an old video camera taped to it, which was fed to the VHS machine and the TV... :lol_hitti I guess that's one way to do it.

Neatest thing was probably all the old car emblems... brought back memories.

Air compressor was just a 60 gallon horizontal / 5HP... Pump made in India.

3baygarage, I think it was you that asked about some valve spring compressors that spread apart instead of compressing, those are for flat head engines, not sure whether for 4, 6, or 8 cyl. engines. They work installing between the spring retainer and block casting, allowing you to compress the spring and remove the keepers. Nothing like a spring compressor used on more modern OHV engines. Sorry for the delay, this thread is as bad as the vise thread, I can't keep up.........

A few things I picked up over a couple sales.

The hammers and vise grips are from a trailer park
Community, bunch of sales throughout.
2f232ab7669380a2a95e1f214239a35e.jpg

A year ago I didn't have a 40 oz ball pein, not I think I have 3. Hard to turn down at $4 each. The CM vise grips appealed to me as a set.
73d749328e761bb8a81192ad0df90285.jpg

Also picked a dozen golf balls for the wife and a nice dog bed for the mutt. The wife only needed one so she can do exercise with her foot for her broken ankle.
Picked this SO ratcheting screwdriver up at another sale, it was in a tool pouch the guy was asking $30 for, just didn't need the whole thing even though it was worth it, offer $ 10 and sold. Got back in the truck and told my wife how proud she should be of me for buying just what I wanted.

Tru-Test was a brand name owned by Cotter & Co, who eventually changed their name to True Value and later branded their hand tools as Master Mechanic.

(This history lesson was brought to you by the tired mind of a former True Value employee........) :lol_hitti

Thank You for the reply, at some point he must have lost his original spark plug socket as the Master Mechanic socket still had the price tag on it.

I haven't had much luck of late until this week end. I picked up a nice Columbian wood vise for $25, a small Defiance / Stanley1207 vise, a very nice Hegner Multimax 18V scroll saw for $100, some SK stuff for $10, a set of 1/2" drive deep Snap On sockets for $30 and a Vise Grip for $10 came to $165

Last Sunday I picked up an old Coleman lantern missing its top vent:

This Sunday I picked up an obsolete Kamplite canister fueled lantern for cheap with the idea the vents were close enough to use:

I need a different (Smaller Dia, taller) Vent stud but it could be doable.

These canisters are no longer made, and the globe is also Coleman not Kmaplit/AGM

looks like most of you are doing well and now that the weather is improving maybe even more good stuff to come.

Some awesome hauls this week all!

Dutch & Bulletpruf- nice to see you guys checking in! I love seeing the European tools and other items. Looks like some US stuff Found too.

Hemi I would like to find a matching Cman bottom cabinet like that. Nice!

Top that looks like an interesting haul as usual. What's the ratchet? An OTC? The breaker bar looks it.

Thanks--I saw it posted on CL which referred me to an online auction-surprised when I won it! There was a lot of junk in it-it was used primarily for "junk storage"..

Oh you REALLY **** for that bottom Hemi! (You **** on the other stuff too, but...)

HAHA--Thanks for the "USuck" award!! I'll take it.. I've got twins now and an even older set that will eventually get moved into the garage--I was half tempted to take the matching bottom of the red/grey box-but it was beat up so it was left behind.. (Yes-Even at $30 I left it for someone else...)This one is gonna clean up quite well-it's just dirty-drawers are all in great shape!

That lower cabinet, the heritage badge looks different then I normally see. But yes you **** on that lower cabinet. I'm wanting one to put my top cabinet on but can't afford eBay prices!

Yeah--EBay will kill you if you find one you want-I sold a lower that was nearly mint as well as a Heritage 10-drawer top as the return on my money was VERY good.. I also had two wall cabinets that I sold that I should have kept-oh well. Here's a pic of the matching bottom I've had for awhile-- ignore the "pile" on it-once I finish the interior of the barn I have some work to do migrating everything from our basement and organizing into a properly put together working space. Anyone have a 10-drawer Heritage logo top box to trade for a crown? My efforts are to have all my tool storage be '40's to '60's era--getting there..

aa3e118894b7b304e6b633a5c2267431.jpg

Id love to have that lower

Absolutely not! I'm getting more selective by the day! It has to be something special to me, and generally cheap. (Exceptions duly noted)

^That Defiance vise looks familiar, I found one a couple weeks ago too. Good to see the finds are picking up there T4.

454 - I don't think it was me who asked about the valve spring tool but thanks for the info. I agree, this thread can move fast at times.

Top thanks for checking. After a better glance at the handle, looks like it might be a New Britain.

My new $120 lista with a butcher block top. It's rougher than my other cabinets, but should look good after some work.

Upon closer look the following on handle: Wizard No. 9 Pat'd Nov 14 1?22 Made in Wor?ester, Mass U.SA. the year appears to be 1822 but could be a 9 .

Picked up this nice vintage REED No. 24 Utility Vise with (4") jaws this past Thursday at one of my sources. Thought it was a good deal @ $28.00.

Will clean it up and lube and mount to another one of my benches.

10 bucks.
Unused.
Also a 30x30x3 inch plate drilled and tapped the same way, but no slots, ground as precision flat as practical. Gave a hundred bucks for it.
