What is the depth of the table?

18X24, so shorter table than the 10" saws...

Habitat / Goodwill finds!

Usually, that doesn't happen around here... the one habitat I've left with some plomb sockets, but that's about it. But as soon as I walked into the one this morning, boom, right by the door like they were waiting for me!

At $2.50 a clamp, I couldn't say no to these. But they also had tiny ones at that price too, which I did say no to.

Most are Cincinnati Tool, some marked Cincinnati tool and Hargrave, and 1 Armstrong.

Kinda hard to read, but the bar clamp is a Taylor.

Freakin $100 Wright scaffolding ratchet for a buck!

A sweet old Swingline stapler

And this. Which is cute, and matches the tile in our bathroom pretty well!

After the auction yesterday, I told myself that no matter what, I wouldn't buy any tools today.

Well at $1 each I couldn't help it!

Couple t-handle toque wrenches and a sears screwdriver.

Philad'a stands for Philadelphia which was where Dission was located.

The saw is old, but not the oldest, as those don't have "and Sons"

Picked these lawnmowers up on my way to work. Not familiar with Westbrook lawnmower but they are self propelled units. If I can get them running then I might flip them, otherwise I'll let my daughter take them apart and teach them some basic lawnmower mechanic.

I got a backlog of this to go through. This is all before the I-85 highway collapse and wouldn't be doable afterwards.

I went down south to see what I could find. The place was absolutely packed and there was around two dozen cars parked in a roped off area. Everything was pretty much gone except for some McKaig Hatch wrenches (the unmarked USA ones) and a wooden Vlchek screwdriver. They had multiple cash registers set up and a bagging area. I have not seen anything like that before. It was one of the experiences that made me decide driving to the southwest outskirts of the city isn't worth it.

The next one was in the central north suburbs and was being done by the people I always have the most luck with. There were tools underneath stuff in just about every bin in the garage. I found a whole bunch of Wizard stuff like a reciprocating screwdriver, a chisel, a bunch of "Hi-Torque" wrenches. There was also a Red Devil scraper that flips open. There was a Chesco hex key set too.

The final sale was in the same general area and had been a one-day only if I remember correctly. The prices kept going lower as I was there. I got all the Williams sockets there as well as the Proto, Bonney, Williams, and Snap-on pliers and wrenches. The Vermont American "The Claw" screwdrivers are really interesting because they were one of the first anti-camout rib screwdrivers to come out, or so I've been told. I also found a Craftsman Driver Light which is kind of a silly novelty. The final thing of note is a M. Klein & Sons "Drive-A-Matic" Nut Driver. Everything I didn't mention is also probably from here.

The final photo is a pair of pliers that I cannot figure out the origin of. I think it says Spain on them, but I don't know what the company is because it's partially worn away.

Here's my $5 Saturday score:

It's a Utica Tools TS-35 torque limiting driver. I've wanted a torque screwdriver for a while but I never thought I'd have a fancy, high-end one like this - especially for five dollars. It was recently calibrated, too! :rocker:

I don't know why. If the saw is wasted, saving the button makes sense; but if the button is valuable, how much more with the saw it came on?

That would be like saying a '65 Mustang hubcap might be more valuable that the whole car...

I used to know a guy that drove a '65 mustang. The hubcaps were definitely worth more than the car. He had layers of cardboard on the floors that would need to be changed out anytime he drove through a puddle and the seats were hanging out the bottom. Fred Flintstone drove a safer car.

Good find, dodge610--that saw is over 130 years old!!

Scroll about 2/3 of the way down to find the matching medallion.

Sure there may have been exceptions but ANYTHING is a rebuild-able core these days.

My point is that the saw complete is always worth more than just a medallion, (leaving aside Eprey maroons that don't know any better...)

Very nice pick-ups, Swingpress!

That is a M1910 hand-axe made by Mann Edge Tool Co. in Lewistown, PA. Now you need the sheath (OD canvas)! :) These were worn on the belt at the hip by foot soldiers from infantry to engineers. These hand-axes are common, but Mann is not. Plumb and American Fork & Hoe are much more common.

Are there any markings on the blacksmith's swage?!

What's an Eprey maroon?

Part of Disston/Warranted history talks about "Some smaller 19th century saw makers may have bought sawnuts and medallions from the bigger factories"

Does that lead people to believe that a saw might be a knockoff with inferior wood-handles or blades?

Did Bugs live in Vain?

o

I'd bet the Big outfits made the smaller once medallions of their own as they had the tooling, and the small guys would find that too expensive to tool for...

ALL: i wanted the Huot carry box cause i don't see these come up and it came with a few MADE IN USA goodies too. a starrett punch set just needs some spiffing and a collection of misc. sockets and wrenches.

since there are some Bonney sockets would these Circle B wrenches be Bonney too?

anybody else own a Huot box like this one? it's about 21x9x9.5 inches?

Those aren't Craftsman wrenches, and that isn't a circle-B mark.
AFAIK, the shield-B mark is Bonney, but someone with better knowledge will have to confirm.

I know those are not Craftsman or "Circle B" but Circle B was what Drives said, so I was assuming he meant same as Circle B Craftsman.

Outlaw: i said circle B, but posted a picture too. i didn't know it was called a SHIELD B logo. thanks for trying to figure it out.

Jake: thanks for that Shield B thought and prior to you posting that I googled a wrench's # ZE 2526 and Bonney came up.

ALL: guessing it's BONNEY then for Shield B wrenches? they are quality and knowing the seller's age guessing maybe 1970's or do tell?

So today I'm helping set up our church garage sale which will pay for our mission trip to Baton Rouge at the end of the month. I see this unpriced vice and gotta have it. "I need somebody else to price this for me please." "It's worth $50 but we'll sell it for $10." "OK, here's $20 for it."

Starrett 4" 014 vice - very near perfect condition, all edges including the slide and jaw inserts are sharp with no dings, the handle is slightly bent tho.

T&B wt111m crimpers - need a good cleaning.

Stanley 50' 34-350 steel tape - too perfect of a condition, I may have to add some fiber tape so it's not so darn slick.

$25 total.

I did pretty good last weekend. Hit a sale from a hoarder house where they were hustling to get rid of things. .... some old work lights on adjustable arms, ....... it was a heckuva haul. All told I wasn't sure what to offer when I hit the cashier, but when she said $15 for EVERYTHING I couldn't pay and leave fast enough...

Days like that make me smile just thinking about them.

Very good kind of Sale Bareass..

Did you get a chance to find any info on the worklight you picked up that day?

attachment.php

I bought one just like it with a different mount, but can't find any makers marks on it.
