I picked up 2 of these ac delco wall cabinets on the 3rd dsy of an estate ssle. Luckily for me they weren't priced clearly and hanging on the wall, i even had to ask if they were actually for sale. 6.00, each I'll take em. Previous owner painted them metallic silver, actually looks pretty good but I'm debating if I should try to strip it off to get yo that pretty original metallic blue.

No number but here are a few pics. There was a 1/4 Chromium Vanadium socket in there too.

Lugz nice Walden set. Is the adjustable/pocket knife a real cheapie? A lot of neat combo tools were made in France.

Love the tool board . That board looks familiar, I almost snagged one similar last year at a sale on the old part of NF Blvd not far down from UB but came up a few minutes short

I wanted to highlight a couple of the little finds from yesterday. Those group pictures are too hard to list everything.

This WILLIAMS SPECIAL wrench. Looks like a 9/16" opening and has a 3/8 drive end. Maybe designed as a torque adapter or just an obstruction wrench . Either way, a nice addition to the collection of odd stuff.

Also, the early Plomb sockets. Too bad the rest of the set was not there.

Like I said that board looked familiar! I remember it sitting in what I call a "Collection Pile" in the middle of the garage floor, my definition of "Collection Pile" = I only have two hands and can't carry all the stuff I want so a pile must be made! I was very surprised to even see it since I think it was at least the second if not the third day of the sale, once again nice pick-up !

Like I said most of the day was a bust but it only takes one if the stuff is on my wish list. Older woman cleaning out and selling the house to downsize to something with no maintenance, etc. husband had been a mechanic who liked his Vulcan tools. $65 for everything which is a lot for me since I'm cheap !

3 hastily semi-planned stops today. I was originally resisting going to any sales, but I had to go to a friends house and these were (sorta) on the way.

The first was around the corner from my house, but turned out to be a bust. They said tools, they didn't have ANY tools.

The second was about the same. The guy said he had a rush when he opened and by the time I got there two hours later he was cleaned out. I did find a can of 1-1/2" roofing nails for $1 though.

The last stop was marginally better. A table in the garage loaded with scrap that you had to dig through. I picked up a few things and got out only $3 lighter.

For $1, I'm hoping that the missing box will feel lonely and finally come out of hiding. If not, I'll have these to use. The trick will be to make sure they don't escape and join up with the first box.

Went to an estate sale that was kind of far away, off the beaten path, down a dirt road...

TONS of tools... However, everything was priced individually just about, and it was all way, way, way overpriced... Even today, which was 1/2 price day I still balked at 99.9% of the prices. Tomorrow though is "make a pile and make an offer"... So I'm going to get there early in hopes they will be more reasonable.

I did find this set of Craftsman USA wrenches that go up to like 1-5/16" for a decent price... That and a 24mm combo that I didn't have was all I bought.

But seriously, they had things like a very rusty old delta jointer/planer sitting on the ground, no motor or anything... $200... Take one of those zeros off and I might consider it with all the effort it will take to get it in working condition again. Most of the ratchets wouldn't ratchet... Don't know if gummed up or if they were busted... They were all pretty rusty... Hammers that were beat to hell, wanting more than new prices....

Wow... I do know that those Diamond's with the green handle coating are worth quite a bit on eBay, didn't know any went that high... Wish I checked before I gave my neighbor one I found at a GS for $1 many months ago... It even had the little lever that slides over the wheel to keep it from spinning.

Went on Saturday morning to a yard sale and saw this tool chest sitting on ground. (pic 1)

Was looking it over a little closer and saw this pop up in the black spray painted area. (pic 2).

6 pull out drawers, 1 fixed upper drawer 26" W by 12" D by 14-1/2" H. (pic 3)

Next to above, was this 24 pull out drawers that was 34" W by 17" D by 10-1/4" H (pic 4)

(pic 5 and 6)) American LaFrance 1 1/2 quart Fire Gun #2 with bracket. It says Foamite Corporation on it. Says Carbon Tetrachloride labeled on it.

Got a Hand-full of Drill bits, look unused, few nuts and bolts, a little #7 baby pool ball, ("luck charm"lol.......) and a ratchet like this one shown, for $5.00.
It's black oxide though. Looks unused too. (It's still in the car)
very slight surface rust on the handle end. What's the best way to remove it, with out messing up the black oxide.
Do you guys like these ratchets?

Won this counter at an auction on Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday. They put three 6' work benches together to make the counter and wired it underneath. It looked good, but I took it home for $97 and some change and I can't build 18' of work surface for that price. Only down side is they drilled two holes in each bench for computer equipment, so I'll have to fill them.

I'm pretty sure it was a red one. (very limited production run or a special edition).

I've seen red Kleins but never a red Diamond.

Lucky day for me yesterday.. estate sale scores--$100/ea.. day two of a four day sale and they were trying to get me to take more! There was a jointer, HD Rockwell shaper and more-but--I dug deep for some self control and left with these beauties! Saw needs new tires and some clean up and it'll be good to go! What's even better --both are wired for single phase!

Well, I've never seen many tools at yard sales. Infact, I've seen so few at the ones that I've been to that I don't really even find it worth my time to get up early to go to sales. Well, today I was heading to a friends house to pick him up around 9:30 and happened to see this sale. I wish I'd made it much much earlier.

Anyway, I ended up with these for $15. That comes out to $1.67 per wrench.

From top to bottom is, a Craftsman USA raised panel 8mm wrench, a Craftsman USA DBE raised panel wrench with a 3/4" end and a 7/8" end, a 18mm Craftsman Professional wrench, a 13/16 Craftsman Professional wrench, a Bonney USA 1" wrench, MIT wrenches in 24, 27, and 30mm. These are made in China and I have no idea what the quality is like. However, I've had impact sockets from them that seemed decent. These are sizes I rarely use, but it will be nice to have on hand. So I figured I'd give these a try.

Funny, I almost brought a useless pipe wrench only that size, but I let it go.

Went for my usual walk at the FM this morning before the heat got too bad (90's for 3 days).
Stopped to chat with the seller that I got the bag of Cornwell sockets from two weeks ago. He still had a few bags of mixed sockets left, mostly Craftsman and imports. He was selling the bags as lots, but I was able to get him to let me pick out the SK's. I ended up with 7 for a buck a piece. Higher than I would have liked, but cheaper than buying the bags and having to dispense with the rest.

This guy is a ******** picker who is almost always #1 or 2 on any list. He can be a little cold and has active elbows when you're trying to pick next to him. I'm trying to thaw him out towards me for future sales. It seems to be working so far. We'll see how it goes when I start running into him at estate sales again.
