Thank you!

Yes, it's an International. It has a couple scratches but otherwise looks like new. It is 20" wide x 13.5" high x 10" deep.

Do they have a manufacture date on them?

Sent from my LGL41C using Tapatalk

It doesn't seem that they dated them at manufacture, but he international models are different, so I don't know. This thread on the Gerstner forum at least explains the dating process, and why I didn't do it with mine.

Set of bed frame rails, AKA raw material for future projects. Can't believe Joe Homeowner just tosses good stuff like this.

Bed frames are a different kind of animal. The metal can be difficult to work with.
Not sure why, but I'm sure someone here knows the answer.

My Dad used to claim he couldn't drill through them, but I've had no issues. I built a welding cart out of bed frame rails and old bicycle wheels once.

Good catch BB spotting that treasure by the side of the road. I love finding those or getting then for a couple bucks at GS.

Jake, I've not heard that complaint before and have not had issues cutting or welding on bed frame angle iron. Maybe some frames are tempered steel more than others. It will be interesting to hear what others have experienced.

Bed frame rails are crudely hardened so they are more rigid with less materials. Lots of real **** in them as well. Some spots can be drilled, some get stupid hard. It's a **** shoot.

If you use abrasive chops saws and just weld what you want, its more doable. Heck I've had trouble drilling existing holes out bigger...

Small haul today. Still processing the massive pile from yesterday (flash "picker style" sale). Today only cost me $18, which I think is fair for what I got. Will go back on Saturday for any remaining tools, when they have a $5/bag sale (I know there is a SK metric box set).

Set of SK 3/8" drive sockets, in a holder. Missing the 7/16, but had a 3/8->1/4 reducer, CM =V= in that spot.
1/2 (x2), 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 SK combos
Williams 9/16 combo
CM 3/8 Butterfly ratchet (that doesn't seem to slip at all! A first for me)
1/2<->9/16 =V= DBE
17<->19, 5/8<->3/4 DOE
Blue Point 12" Adjustable
CM Crowntop Pipe cutter (not pictured).

For the other sale, it barely managed to pack into the back of my Outback, with the passenger seat loaded, and the back seats down. Will post lots of pics as I inventory.

So here is a partial list of the stuff from Wednesday. Ended up there over three hours, going thru rooms multiple times and kept finding things. Got a few others by swapping with other tool guys there. Going to end up multiple posts due to length and pictures. Sorted by what box it came home in, and order I pulled out. Some of this is for me, other is for trade, so if you see something interesting, PM me. Or if you just want closer pictures. Question marks usually mean it is in a different pic for closeup.

Not quite garage sale, even better if you ask me.....these were free. Two sets of lockers from a bowling alley and some heavy selves. I'm not sure what will be done with the lockers yet....she says they would be great cleaned and painted for shoes, I'm leaning towards storage for power tools.

No cut/weld that I can see. Irwin adapter is old enough it says USofA. Kind of like the dinky 1/4->3/8. Good for low-profile work.

Here is my new old saw, Milwaukee 6365. I wish it had the original metal case, but free is free. I tested it out cutting some old hard studs from a kitchen remodel, it is heavy and plenty of power. The depth adjustment is new to me, but seems to work well.

Just a few items at an estate sale for $10.

The unusual item for me was a D-J Tools 3/8" drive ratchet from Japan (the one without the knurling); I had never encountered this brand before. Decent quality; after cleaning and Super-Lube, it had fairly smooth action.

Only hit one estate sale today, lots of stuff, retired machinist. First day so full price, spent $160.

Pics 1 and 2: My 3 favorite things, Craftsman Heritage label 16 drawer parts cabinet, Crown label parts cabinet and Heritage label art deco utility vise.

Pic 3: Top left 3 Eclipse Made in England V blocks with one clamp, Wilde drain plug wrench?, bunch of LEFT hand drill bits, 2 Proto pullers (notice the little clips to hold the arms, never seen those before!) Snap On large torque wrench adapter for Model A head bolts, Snap On small torque adapter for oil pressure senders and a cool little tape measure for my collection.

Pic 4: Top right: Two Craftsman underlined label NOS buffing wheels and a box of buffing compound, Crown logo doweling jig, Sears padlock and a pair of small grinder shields.

Pic 5: Coleman lantern case in decent shape.

Picked up this stuff for $20 last week. The jack is missing one of the cast wheels. Where can I get them? Also I don't know what the last pic is. It is like a female to female adapter. It will take a 3/8 square on both sides.

$1 today at an estate sale, while traveling through Elmira NY with mother and father in their Honda (space limits). My dollar bought me a very small Stanley claw hammer head, a Bonney PH20 16oz soft-face hammer in need of help, and a pre-1945 Blue Point 692 16oz soft-face hammer in a little better condition.
Seen but NOT PURCHASED: a Delta scroll saw ($50), a Craftsman drill press ($40), and a Stanley Handyman Tools pegboard ($5). It would have been a good day to be in the pickup truck.

You can (or could) still get the plastic faces for those old Stanley hammers on Eprey, but I don't believe they are in production...

deberly12, that 3/8 square item may be a connector that goes between two halves of a distributor wrench. Some designs have two separate L-shaped wrenches with square drives on the shanks connected with a connector like this.

When there's a will there's a way.
You most certainly could have gotten that DP (a Mohawk no less) in a Honda.
I used to haul stuff in a Triumph Spitfire 1500.

That DP is a UNICORN! Only made for 1 yr, not in the catalog (Floor model, 103.0304).
Been looking for the past few years, never seen one for sale.

We have a few contractors in the area that seem to always donate extra materials like new doors and windows. Also some of the stuff comes from some wealthier towns so I tend to see a lot of nicer products. Sometimes it's amazing the nice full kitchen cabinet sets people get rid of. I guess it must be nice to be able to remodel with big budgets.

Cutting the top off really devalues moms Honda though.

this, at least 1/2 of it is in the red crate.

Pickings have been slim in recent weeks. Only one sale today, landed a 12" Crescent wrench, battery pliers, T10 thru T30 drivers from MSC, and an angle finder. The angle finder is Japanese, the rest are USA. $5 all.

Pretty sure this is to use (and turn) the box end wrenches with the 3/8" male dirive ends that you can see in your box of wrenches photo. Likely made in ROC, semi-vintage

Why is that? Starrett still makes measuring tapes in the US.

Speaking of Starrett, I went to a yard sale advertised as tools, man cave etc. but the pickings were slim. All I got was a Starrett no. 123 master vernier caliper, 24", for $5. It needs a good cleaning, but $5? These are usually a couple hundred or more.

Lampak lantern carrying case, from what I have been able to find on Google, the case is really rare. Made in Hollywood CA. The triangle inside it is a funnel

Not a massive haul today, but definitely a good one. I ended up spending $86 total.

I had planned on 4 stops, but the last two were iffy, so I spent almost 3 hours digging at the second stop instead.

The first stop was at a place I had been to a year or two ago. A large garage and 4 sheds that they were still trying to clean out. The first time I was there, I tried to buy just the fence off of a small 1940’s Cman/Atlas tilt table saw, but it was a no-go. When I stopped in this time, the saw and fence were still there. I knew they wouldn’t be able to sell it. JFTHOI, I offered $15 just for the fence. This time they bit. I’ll need to cut about 2” off of it, but eventually it will go on my 40’s bandsaw.

At the same sale there was a little girl trying to sell baked goods. She was trying really hard , but no-one was buying. So, out of sympathy, I bought a slice of banana bread. She wanted 75¢, I gave her a dollar and told her to keep the change.

Stop 1 - $16
Craftsman/Atlas tilt table saw fence (early 1940’s)
slice of banana bread (No pic. If you want to see it, you may have to wait ‘till it completes it's journey)

The second stop was a Honey Hole. The piles were so high that you couldn’t get into them without starting an avalanche. 2 bay garage, loft, side room, back room, and part of the basement. All packed solid with NOS and leftover stock from a hardware store that closed in the 80’s or 90’s. There were personal shop items hoarded as well. I saw this one and immediately decided to skip the other stops. I spent almost 3hrs there digging, chatting, and helping others load their trucks. I just didn’t want to leave. I ran into one of my sister’s co-workers and ended up helping her son load his truck with parts cabinets. I also ran into several other scroungers I know, and even found a buyer for one of them for a quick flip.
It was too much fun, I didn’t want to go home.

Stop 2 - $70
Tri-Star 12" x 8’ arch ramps (1500lbs cap. /pair)

CM Chain EZ-CUT hydraulic chain/cable cutter (3/8” proof capacity)
pr (import) press plates

Craftsman 9-2465 Mortising chisel housing (w/ 2 bit sets)
Craftsman #506.51800 (USA) 3-1/2” vise
Craftsman 1/2dr deep socket set (10 sockets w/tray) (-V-)

Shopsmith NIB retractable castors (for Mark V)
Coffing Hoist mod# MA-15 3/4ton chain hoist

If I had had more money available, I could have seriously been in trouble. There were NOS JET machines, still in their shipping packaging, a NOS wooden vise display w/cheap chinese vises, parts cabinets, shelves, and an entire (narrow) side room stacked to the ceiling with hardware in boxes and assortments. And that was just the notables. I’m sure I missed out on some things, but it was so overwhelming that I didn’t even notice.

I tried to concentrate on items that I could use, but don’t normally see, like the chain cutter (to go with the rope measure from last week), the press plates (to use on the Dake I picked up last month), and the ramps (that I can use on my big trailer). The rest was just gravy.

It was a good day. Going home was a let down.

Hit 2 estate sales today, one was packed with stuff everywhere ,3rd say of sale so everything was 1/2 off the marked pricing. Spent $20 and got the vintage durobilt socket set, with a bunch of Bonney sockets, Clauss scissors,Starrett 12" combo square box,12inch 4R blade, normal centerfinder head and the biggest CF head I've seen, each leg is 4 1/2" long. Should have enough spare parts to find the locking nut and spring but don't have a wide rule to try it out on.
Second sale netted the Craftsman block grinder on a stand,a Craftsman no.4 tappet wrench and a Williams Superadjustable 10 inch all for $35.

Cutting the top off really devalues moms Honda though.

this, at least 1/2 of it is in the red crate.
Thanks.... apparently I have 2/3 of a distributor wrench. Being a 90s baby I don't have alot or distributor experience. I understand how they work but haven't ever had to work around one.
