That's a tool kit from a BMW "Airhead" motorcycle from the early 90's vintage. Someone's added a Japanese adjustable (looks like good quality). You're missing the Allen keys, 4, 5, 6 & 8mm (maybe 3mm also). I think you're also missing the pin for the tube socket wrenches.
I say early 90's because the hook spanner was for the pre-load adjuster on the single rear shock strut. Also, there's no tire irons, indicating that it was for a bike with tubeless tires, which would be post-1985.
It might be worth $50 on ebay especially since you have the original tool roll. New tool kits with rolls were still available for about $100 last I checked. It looks like the "Super" tool kit is still available new for $126.

Waiting at an estate sale that starts at 10 for someone to show up and pass out street numbers...

Sounds tempting. I never heard of a customer doing the numbers. That's a new one on me. Normally we put our name on the list on the door. Guess it depends how long you have to stand out there before the sale opens, and whether or not you know there's good stuff you're looking for.

Sounds like you did good at the sale.
A couple of stops yesterday gained me Craftsman pliers, a Snap-on 7/16" stubby and an SK wobble extension and stubby ratchet- all for $7.

Last evening, came upon a non publicized garage sale.
Picked up a Record 3VS bench vise with 4" jaws pics 1-4
Plus an Ajusco-Loc Industrial Machine Tool Light that stands upright over 36 inches tall/ Pic 5-7
Not pictured, but found a Sheffield wooden handle screw driver.

Got this at a garage sale today. Don't know if it should be posted here, but there are a pile of smart people here who may like to see something like this.
It's a dead reckoning computer. Don't know how or if it works. Don't know what I'm going to do with it. I thought it was just interesting.

I saw a yard sale near the house so I made a stop and found this basket of tools for $20. I asked if she would take $10 and she did!

Wow that SK boxed set looks so nice... Practically brand new!
No sales for me this weekend... Weather has been raining, and with school starting Monday I guess most people figure there's enough things going on. There were so few posted, no pics, and the descriptions were all about clothes and misc...
It really does! The ratchet had some schmutz on it, but it wipes right off. It is missing two sockets and an extension. I need to Google the set, so I know what to find to complete it. It was $20. I did not even haggle.
Any two of the swivel impact sockets, bought off the truck, would be more than I paid for all of it. It was a pretty good day. Everything was about $75 total.

I found a Kennedy 1017 Hip Roof box with folding trays at an Estate sale for $5.00. The exterior paint is in rough shape but the interior is UMCH nicer.
I need to figure out how to match the crinkle and touch up the paint.

After work I headed down to Peabody,MA to get some Snap On extensions that I found on CL. Well that trip turned out to be a honey hole. An elderly couple was moving and the husband was selling his tool collection. I bought the following for $300 total.

I forgot in my earlier post that we had hit another ES this morning. As we wandered thru the ES my wife saw a friend of my daughter helping customers at the sale and asked if she worked for the ES company. It turns out that the house was her grandfather's and the family was running the ES.
Grandpa had designed and built the house and ran his (architecture?) business from it for many years. In a very large studio type room in the basement there was an old drafting table chair for sale with a $10.00 sticker on it. I'm a fool for vintage office chairs (note to self - start a thread on that . . .) so I bought it. It was built by Harter Steel Chairs out of Sturgis Michigan in 1963. It's a bit rough but it's cool.
I got a chuckle as I was cleaning it up later - under the nice neat sticker with $10.00 on it was the $30.00 price someone in the past had written on the vinyl in RED SHARPIE. I tried DNA and Mineral Spirits so far to no avail. It's funny and I don't really mind if it remains.

I was out a long time for short results... Almost 4 hours. 11 planned stops and at least that many TOO's...
No good stories to go with this stuff. Quite day in the zoo (other than the usual number of ijots on the road...)
Several stops worth in pic one:
Vise grips Porto 10" adjustable, 10, 12 & 14mm GearWrench ratchet wrenches. All cam for there same stop ten bucks.
The silver plate Pickle fork (food kind) from a small new Flea market. I liked the long handle and it will go in my personal camp silverware.. Two Bucks - I'm pretty sure this one ins Sterling silver as it has a lot of wear in places, and other dings, and no brass is showing.
The lever bolts and the powder shaker (also Sterling - Marked) were from another YS. two for the shaker and one for the bolts. I use these bolts for camp gear I build or modify.
A blaze orange, green and relfective tape vest for a buck,
A couple of Cigar boxes for a dollar each,
And a wool Carpet for $7. This one got washed after I got home (scrubbed detergent into both sides in the drive way, let it soak scrubbed again then power washer for rinsing the soap out. That was arduous!)
It's going to be the base pad in the car top tent on my small trailer. I'll have more under my sleeping bag, but this will provide good insulation... That project is getting a head of steam. I've decided to make the tent myself using wool blankets, probably with some rip stop on top for better rain proofing, and see if the Bedouins know something we don't on tent making..

I can't help with a match to the paint but I used a Rustoleum Burnished Amber Hammered finish paint on a couple Kennedy Cantilever boxes a few weeks back and while not an exact match color/texture wasn't bad.

It was dial indicator weekend here. First stop yielded two Caterpillar marked indicators with .0001" increments, one is marked Federal and B21. The other has only the Caterpillar name and C21. $7.00 for both. I also got the case, mounting attachments, hole attachment, and a small contact point for a Lufkin 299A or 399A dial indicator. I can use the mounting attachments for other dial indicators that I own.
The second stop brought a Van Norman valve seat runout indicator and a Starrett 452 Cylinder bore indicator. The Starrett has only the 2-1/2 to 4" rod, and a rigid handle. I didn't get hurt since the price was $1.00 each.
All the indicators work perfectly, and a little light oil on the external moving parts smoothed them out nicely.
Another dollar item was the Goodell-Pratt 2-6" micrometer. It only has the 5-6" anvil, and looks rusty, but works perfectly and cleaned up pretty well.
$5.00 brought me the Crescent repair parts kit. It is missing the jaws for the 12" wrenches, but is fully stocked in the 4" to 10" range.
Both these sales were in my rural neighborhood, with one only a mile away and the other less than three miles as the crow flies.

As for the box, I haven't had a chance to clean it since I had to clean the house and go pick up my wife fro my airport. Maybe today I can take a few minutes to clean the box.
Jim, I find the 1017 to be about the perfect size Kennedy hand box. You are going to love it. I like them way more than the 1018. The 1017 is still a heavy box, though...
Very nice chair and a fair price to boot. Have you ever used Totally Awesome? It works wonders on cleaning the un-cleanable, the fumes are more than a little strong though. We can usually find it at dollar stores and buy a half dozen bottles at a time.

Only mamaged to get to two sales yesterday, one which was advertised as a "Toolapalooza" and picked up the following;
Pic1- from the first sale- Wooden Mallet - for decorative purposes, williams amd lectrolite wrencehes, and a chisel set in pretty good shape for $7.
Pics 2-5 - from the Toolapalooza sale- a nice early Delta Band Saw came with a GE 1.5HP motor - not original to the Band saw of course, and most likely overkill, for $20! Another tool sharpening attachment, this time a bench mount for a $1.

Jim- Outlaw's suggestion will prob. do it, but if not I often use Goo Gone. Small amount on a paper towel. Although I'm not sure about that material.
