Lowes is usually pretty good about keeping stickers up-to-date, and even their website will list the current clearance price. They don't have a "clearance section" like HD does, any item on clearance will be in its usual place, more or less...

If you have multiple stores in your area I would check the price for an item at each store as one store can be clearancing some out while another just a mile away might still have them at full price....

Out of curiosity, how do you guys locate these deals? Is it as simple as seeing the price reduction tag, or do you wait until checkout and see its been reduced?
If I see a yellow clearance tag, I search the item number on lowes.com for a current price. Markdowns hit the site before the tags are updated usually.

That really depends on the store. There are 2 stores near me that always update a price several days, maybe several weeks late. Several times I have bought something for 80% off, and before picking up the order i'll look at the shelf, and it'll have a much higher price.

In fact, I recently posted that Culligan deal where it was $3 but the shelf said $18 a couple days after the price drop. That same store had some nice storage bins for $1/each. When i picked them up I noticed there were 8 on the shelf with no price tag. It wasnt for another month that they sold out.

The same store had a $400 faucet for $100. It was not on the shelf it was sitting on top in storage above the faucets for a year. I bought it online and picked it up. No one knew it was there!

The same store had an external electric panel for $8.37. Its normally $130. The price tag said $83.70. So I asked a lowes employee to look it up and it was $8.37 not $83.70.

And on and on...

There are plenty of price mistakes to be found at lowe's especially if you know the store with incompetent employees.

Pretty amazing that in the eleven stores within a 50 mile radius of my place that have it in stock show it priced from $.87 to $2.97. That's a huge percentage swing!

Those went pretty fast, I was able to get two. Add on 10% discount, and the 11% rebate going on for select stores will make for a good deal.

If the website says: "unavailable for pick-up at xxxxxLowes" does that mean it is out of stock?

Freaking Lowes... Called to cancel my order... Says they didn't have them.... :(

One store near me Ive never actually gotten an order from. Probably placed 5 or 6 orders from there, and if they arent regular priced items I *ALWAYS* get a call about how they couldnt find it.

Literally 10 minutes ago, same thing...ordered something they supposedly had 4 of, get a call saying they cant find them. yet now the web page says they only have 1. I doubt they updated their inventory that quickly, so it wouldnt surprise me if someone that works there bought 3 of them (and the last 1 really doesnt exist)

Did you hear a voice in the background saying how much his pop is gonna love his new tool boxes?

Yeah... I actually drove down there afterwards yesterday evening and walked the whole store looking up in the rafters... Didn't see them, but they do have a large receiving / stock area in the back so anything is possible.

Inventory was reduced by the pair I ordered... till a little while after they cancelled it... Now it shows the original 1 lower & 2 uppers in stock...

Maybe I will just keep re-ordering till they find them, or fix their website...

I ordered some florescent fixtures before, got 10 but left 3... Well next day decided might as well get the last. They cancelled the order but I *knew* the last 3 were there up in the rafters. Went to the store as I needed other stuff and had a guy pull them down. He knew they were $5 each, probably wanting to save them for himself or a friend he didn't see too happy.

um this was posted on SD about a year ago, with several reposts. This was sold out near me like 6 months ago. I just checked and both items are completely sold out in arizona where I live. It's very unlikely anyone will find these. There are actually much better quality ones on clearance that I am tracking, that havent been posted on any sites. You're much better off looking for new deals rather than resurrecting a deal dead 6 months ago. The quality on these isnt even that good either.

Yes, I know these went on sale around Christmas (and people bought lots of the bottoms and used the $15 off $50), but then the prices went back up... And I guess recently just dropped back down again probably to liquidate whatever inventory was left...

It's more likely they just couldn't find them, it seems like they often lose things in the store and can't find them.

When they call to cancel an order, they need your permission to cancel the order. If you say no, they will either substitute something better or get them from another store. If you leave the order open and the items eventually turn up, they will fill your order.

I don't think this is true. Pretty sure they have no obligation to your order, especially on clearance stuff.

This is absolutely untrue. Whatever gave you this idea. I've had tons of orders canceled. They do not need your permission to cancel an order.
They are not under any obligation to substitute either.

God, I hope people know to ignore any of the so called policy information you post on these threads. The bs you spew in here is ridiculous and, considering its frequency, seemingly intentional. I'm guessing you think it's funny, but it's really not.

Hey guys I got a question about the saw I just bought. Figured you Lowes experts would know all the in's and out's.

So I decided at the last second I needed a compound miter saw for a project this weekend. I was going to just grab a 10" (dewalt, Mil, or Hitachi) and call it a day but after doing the pre-rec GJ search and checking prices decided to go with the Dewalt 12".

So here's my question. Lowes had it listed for $399. They had the same model with the light thinga-ma-bobber and what I thought was a stand included for $599.

While grabbing my stuff I noticed this sign

EAE07A37-C781-465E-B72D-EB74A4B0B0FB_zpskoi5tzja.jpg

And at first thought it meant for every dewalt miter saw. I asked the special orders desk chick who was helping me with something else and she informed me it was only good on the $599 deal.

Here's where I'm screwed up. Like I said I thought the 599 deal came with the stand anyhow. So why would they give a free stand away with a saw that already had a stand.

Am I just screwed up with my thinking?. Or where these prices for either saw this weekend only and the price for the blade guide cutting actually cost $200 by it's self?.

Thanks!

Oh ya one more thing. WTH is with the red special label on the box?. Is this just supposed to make me feel good about my purchase?

I have been told by CS and DM's that they cannot cancel an order without the customer's permission, and that has been my experience. Could be different in your area, or maybe you did not know you could refuse the cancellation?

I've had tons of orders canceled.

Typically what they do in this area is call the customer. If they get voicemail, they cancel the order and note that they contacted the customer but were not able to speak with them. This seems to be allowed.

If the customer answers the phone, they have to give permission to cancel the order. Next time you get a cancellation call, listen carefully to how they word it. They usually say something like "we don't have the item and we need to cancel the order". I usually respond with something like "I don't want my order cancelled, do you have something you can substitute or will you need to get it from another store?" They then put me on hold for a few minutes while they talk to the store manager, then tell me what the manager offered. Usually it is a substitution or that they will get it from another store, but a few times they have offered a Lowes gift card instead.

I did kind of notice how they were phrasing it and it's like they were just waiting for me to say "cancel it"... Perhaps I'll re-order the items today and when they call I'll do as you suggest about substitution (possible) or find at another store (unlikely).
