I couldn’t figure out how to get them to work in store with the barcode. Every time the associate scans it , it doesn’t work. Says invalid upc. So what I’ve started doing is grabbing the items and going by the customer service desk and letting them know I’m about to place an online order for the items so they can pick the order and I can sign for it.

Thanks. Ordered 5 of the Dynaflex. Hope they have them for this order.

Last time, I ordered a bunch of Goldblatt stuff to find out they sent everything back to the vendor, but they claimed it took up to a week for their inventory to reflect that. WTF? you are only creating problems for yourself doing that. That store wasted a ton of labor looking for the item, as it said they had 18 of them. On the positive, the store did keep looking in the situation for more than a day and did explain what happened. They offered to sub in some POS item instead. I had a tape knife already, but I wanted ones with a nice handle.

If they are OOS on the Dynaflex, hopefully they will make up for last time and just sub in individual rolls. probably not

I foresaw my cancellation. While venting to the lady, because of the string of recent inventory issues, she said the customer service reps now have the ability to fix stock counts. Before they had to have a manager do it (so often not done), thus resulting in a higher number of cancellations, &/or the appearance they still have them even though your ordered was cancelled.

so once again, I didn't go down the fastener aisle, but I still got screwed

Best one I had:

I ordered 3 mechanics tool sets and a girl from Lowes called to say that they couldn't find them. I told here the guys in tools probably snagged them and if I watched I would see the 3 showing online drop to zero right near close.

She promised that wasn't the case and that said she was setting the inventory to zero right then. I looked online and when she zeroed out the inventory the price at that store reset to full price.

They called me the next morning that they had magically found all 3 of them and I could still have them at price I ordered them. I think the guys in tools didn't want them for full price

i ordered online the caulk for .38 cents.. don't really need it so i didn't bother going to look for it. i'll come in handy if it's not cancelled, if it is then oh well.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Lowe's website?

I have three stores in town, I try to switch between them to see availability of items between different stores and the website would not let me switch. There are some other issues also. At this point and based on nearly 25 years of internet experience I have arrived to conclusion that their website is run by incompetents even though on first glance it looks nice.

I use FireFox and lately started to use Opera browsers.

i had an issue when i returned a washer.. they did the return and never return the 800+ bucks in my account. called the 1800 number and they said they fixed it.. a week later nothing. went to the actual store, made them pull the actual paperwork from my return. and like magic after running the return it was in my account in 10 minutes. amazing how stuff works when people actually do their job lol

Last week Lowe's upgraded the computer system in all their stores, without giving their employees much training. So it is no longer a 30 year old system, but it will take the employees a long time to learn it.

Now you will get an email every week or so telling you you have an order waiting to pickup until you pick up the order.

When I first started at hd the store system was a as400 slow as hell doing reports on. When we did the upgrades it was to Red Hat on the servers and windows on all the store PC's and pos Systems. Lowe's is probably all linux on the back end just like a lot of stuff we use everyday runs on a secure Linux kernel.

fly by wire? does airbus still use that silly fibre token ring as the plane network? there is a reason token rings never took off as a network topology.

i talked to a guy from Boeing once, he told a story about their initial testing of an aircraft in a simulator. when it crossed the equator, it flipped upside down, and the pilot crashed it. something to do with an unsigned variable, as i recall.

forget planes. cars are getting to be the same way . . . .

The data on the few Airbus that I worked on when we owned Frontier Airlines was on coax cable. I don't think all of them we're like that though. It's better to work it out on a flight simulator then using a actual aircraft and a test pilot like they used to do. There is a video of a dc-9 during the test phase that the tail broke off on hard Landing at the McDonnell Douglas test Runway a pilot's from the FAA was doing the landing. Instead of McDonnell Douglas crew.

I don't think you'd like them as much as you're thinking. They're not good stubby screwdrivers because they're too big but not big enough to be a good regular driver.

My local store had them for $2 a piece (evidence below) but other local stores had them for $82.31

Hopefully these will work in my shop (just broke ground today). It's not a high bay, not sure if that will matter much. Worst case, I think I can make my money back on them.

I haven't even done the math yet to figure out how much more the bulbs are going to cost me.

Oh, and sorry to anyone local hoping to jump in and grab some - Lowes got my $20 - I took all 10 they said they had in stock.
