from tooltopia:

M18™ FUEL™ 3/8"" Impact Wrench With LED Light Kit with FREE M18™ LED Flood Light 309$

http://www.tooltopia.com/milwaukee-2895-22ct.aspx

since it is a -22 kit, it includes two 2AH batteries and a charger, as well as a soft bag.

that price appears to be what the kit without the flood light goes for.

I have tried finding the exact model of of the 3/8 in that kit (I'm sure i know, but wanted verification) for the last 10-15 minutes, and not one site that lists it, has the break down of the tool models included. Before finding it listed elsewhere, I was a little concerned that it is a previous generation model.

From the description it has the 4 mode settings and max torque 210 of the 2754 Gen 2 unit

But obviously there is no actual part # listed

On the other the hand the 2361 M18 Rover lights are now being rated at 1500 lumen but no has quite ascertained exactly how that change transpired like if there has been a bulb change or its more marketing and is based on the battery rating of a 5.0 now. And this one is sill described as 1100 lumen.

Overall $309 is a fair deal if you break down list prices, the CT compact battery kit normally goes $259. the flashlight is $49 and the LED Flood $99

Though there would probably be slight increase in performance overall with XC batteries the compacts are still quite suitable for that tool, and I often prefer using smaller battery with my 2754.

Bare tool is like $159 new.

There was a sale around Thanksgiving 2016 where some of us got a new -20 for $99 from ToolUp! :D

Edit: Also looks like its sold out now.

Brightness doesn't change with different battery capacities, only run time. I was unaware of the bump in lumens, glad I didn't buy a used one last week.

I am interested in the M18 String trimmer but don't have Facebook or know exactly what the deal was or if it is still valid. I read back a few pages but still not sure. Could someone offer insight on the Facebook deal or best price for the trimmer and 9ah battery?
Thanks

The m18 trimmer deal was 299.99 for the trimmer with 9.0 batter and fast charge and than you were able to pick between the hedge trimmer or blower for free.
Promo is still going on at certain stores.

That was through this Facebook group. I don't use FB either, but it's worth it just for this group imo.

If I didn't find a local store that had this deal, I'd pay another $15+ in taxes & gas to get there, so $305 online shipped was my best play.

But now seeing these guys out of GreenBay, I will probably place an order with them for another deal (slightly close to my heart, with my visits to Ironwood, MI)

Well, how do we buy from this Nick?

well, ya gotta know this guy, who knows another guy, who is friends with nick's sister's hairdresser's husband's motorcycle mechanic.

finding him is actually harder than you would think, since he only works the third saturday of alternate months that only include only two vowels in the name, from 8:19am until 8:42am, at a random starbucks in north eastern new jersey on the east side of a major thoroughfare but not within sight of another starbucks *or* dunkin donuts, even if you stand all the way out at the curb, on top of an upside down five gallon paint bucket, and shield your eyes from the early morning glare.

No.

You just need to PayPal him the money and tell him what you want in the comments section.

The Facebook group is only to see what deals are available, but luckily the nice folks here can just relay that information to us. ;)

The string trimmer is pretty awesome. I got in on the deal a couple weeks ago and used it last weekend. Did my whole 1/3 acre lot on 1 bar from the 9.0. Light years better than my gas powered trimmer. The blower is also decent, not gas powered equivalent but great for quick cleanup.

As crazy as it sounds, just send the money to the Paypal address listed several places. Do it as goods & services, and you are protected. For how fast I got my order, I have to think that if they can get it on a FedEx truck when you pay, they will. I haven't read anyone's order taking longer than 3 (deliverable) days.

If you are looking for a quote on a particular tool, they respond quite fast on FB. my new first stop for tools

I got in on the string trimmer and hedge trimmer combo a week and a half ago. Guy seems to drop ship from all over the country. I'm in Los Angeles and it was here the next day. Shipping shows it was sent from Fresno.

That M12 deal is very tempting....was just thinking about buying the light at HD, but might spend the extra and pick up one of those kits. I have the drill and impact driver already, debating which of the impact wrenches to pick up.

That is pretty slick deal on those M12 stuff. Too bad in a way for me but I already have all of those tools and I'm not considering buying anything over, but sure would like get that 6.0 battery.

My fav's are the 2454 3/8" impact wrench and 2402 hex screwdriver along with that light

Note the 1/4 drive impact wrench has a max torque of only 45 ft lbs in mode 2 so has a more defined purpose.

Thanks for that info, I did notice that about the 1/4. Seems pretty low in the power department.

Was interested in M12 ratchet too but I dont think he has a deal going on for those. Wanted something that could take out long bolts easily as Im about to tackle replacing the timing belt in my Frontier. Ratchet is much lower profile but I should have plenty of room to use the 3/8 impact too.

I guess I always figured my 1/4 hex impact could do anything the 1/4" wrench could do, just with a socket adapter, but that was out of practicality. I had no idea that torque was that low.

Not sure how good of a deal this is, but it is better than paying full price and sales tax.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Milwauk...994324?hash=item361580c414:g:x4sAAOSwSlBY3qhS

Not a great deal as that is the same as just getting a 10% home depot discount for customer loyalty, military, etc and paying tax. Although I have a brand new one sitting in my job box I'll sell for that much, but $210-$225 shipped is the normal going price on ebay. That reminds me, I need to sell the one I have sitting so I can buy more tools :lol_hitti

I bought the M18 fuel blower and M18 fuel string trimmer $305 deal from Nick a couple weeks ago and it arrived within 2-3 days of the paypal. Wife wasn't pleased about having duplicate string trimmers though. Blower is nice. Haven't tested the string trimmer. I currently use an Echo PAS 225 for trimmer and edger so curious to see how the M18 compares. I know the little echo is stronger than the husqvarna 25cc straight shaft I was running before and equal to my neighbors stihl straight shaft.

I have the EGO 56V string trimmer (and blower, and chainsaw), otherwise Id jump on the M18 stuff just to eliminate the extra battery format.

The trimmer works pretty well, although for some reason it always scalps. Not sure if I need to adjust placement of the handle, etc but I have far more precise control with my Stihl gas powered trimmer than the EGO. Maybe the Milwaukee is ergonomically better, but I dont feel the need to buy it.

Wife will be pleased you don't smell like assoline after using it though. I know power makes a difference, but at a certain point I think the line makes more of a difference. You could have the most powerful whacker around, but it will eat through **** line. The line that comes with the M18 seems better than anything I've use in the past, granted I probably never bought the most expensive either (never the cheapest though). I think I might have bumped the trimmer twice on my first use. Once to extend to full length, and a 2nd time because i wasn't sure if it worked. This was also tested on thick ornamental grass. It never bound up either like my Echo did, so I guess the head is engineered a bit more thoughtfully.

Hoping to sell our other string trimmer so I can pick up the string & hedge trimmer combo :)

eh the gas smell doesn't bother her. If I came in smelling like assoline, she might be questioning me, though. She's used to that between the Harleys and all the OPE. Would never be able to go electric for a chainsaw being that any summer we could end up needing all the big saws ready to go for a hurricane. Then generator upkeep for the same purpose, etc.

Line does make all the difference though. I've been through some **** line through the years. First trick is never buy line at the big box stores.....

I'll probably test the M18 trimmer this weekend if it doesn't rain. Thought about selling it off but figured would give it a shot. If it'll run with or atleast close to my properly tuned echo turning 8,600-8,800 on tach, I'll keep it. I talked to one guy at a OPE shop a few weeks ago while getting some new chainsaw loops made and he was claiming it outran his stihl FS91R. Granted the service guy told me afterwards that his 91R was running like **** and couldn't even break 5,000rpm on tach before bogging due to bad gas, so not to put much faith in his claims. :dunno: Some of the reviews of comparing gas vs the electric I wonder in what kind of shape the gas trimmer was in before comparing.

I just fixed up my 10 year old Stihl FS80R a bit....new carb (generic replacement: 14 bux) and new fuel lines. Runs like a top again. A lot easier to fill the tank than go find another battery and I dont like leaving batteries outside so the spares would always be inside presumably farthest away possible when the pack Im using runs out of juice.

I dont have a large yard but there are a lot of obstacles to trim around. For me I think a cordless is OK as a backup, but wont be giving up my gas powered Stihl for a long while.

I would still consider a gas trimmer if I had an ethanol-free gas station around me. The closest is not close, and there is too many problems with this "corn-gas" that I'd rather not deal with it. Though if I have to, I use StarTron, no need (less-likely) to replace parts then.
