Yes, the website isn't updated very often.

I don't have FB but I've ordered from him 3 times. I just send the money to him through PayPal and no problems so far.

I haven't figured how to use that Facebook page of his.

Any clues on how you monitor it and make use of it.

If it were my business and I had a webstore, I would do like every other business on the planet, the Facebook site would reference the webstore, and the webstore would be the best way to monitor it and be the most up to date.

nope, i have the same issue . . . .

unfortunately, i have a feeling that he is actually doing it the best way. if he is doing a lot of "flash" sales and such, the overhead of posting it on fb is likely a lot lower than dealing with adding it to the web site. and if he sells them out quickly, he is winning, right?

but i agree, dealing with that fb group is beyond painful.

He does do a number of limited time deals. I would imagine it is much easier for him to make a post on Facebook that gets buried in a few days rather than update a website on a daily basis. He is a very small operation compared to a larger company that has an entire department that maintains the website.

It's not that hard, you make templates, edit the templates and post.

but on fb, you just type, and you post. you also dont need to drive people to your site, they are already on fb. you (and i) may not like the interface, but it works.

he is a smart businessman to minimize his effort for the same results. it was really not too long ago that putting things online was seen as a waste of effort. of course, a lot of those vendors are not around to complain anymore.

Yeah, but he loses the HUGE advantage of the website(selling all that other stuff he has listed, it's called Browsing) which is universally usable by most anyone on the Interwebs. Look at how many people here can't use it.

I'm a Data Engineer and a Tool Guy and it's just goofy trying to figure out how to leverage that Facebook vomit. Some of you guys are obviously experts at it. Takes too much effort for me. He's also kinda screwed up some stuff that a Webstore would have helped him manage better. AND, he's already got the webstore!

Damn it all. Still can't do it without an account. Maybe if I see a good deal mentioned here I can send a message through the site asking if it's available without a FB account.

At least I know who everyone is talking about now.

you don't need a FB account, just PayPal. now it helps to see all the deals posted with an account, but as long as someone relays the info to you, you just send the money through PP w/ the list of what you are ordering.

Yup this!

Social media sites can be boon for business advertising. Works for us.

The place I work for has a social media account and I am one of the page editors for the business. So if you're interested you can avail yourself to page notifications then you stay current to whatever being posted...sales, specials and like often in our case product availability etc. Post settings are personal preference and you can choose to follow or unfollow different things or people.

We do have a web site and also run radio and newspaper ads too, they all cost money. For the most part FB is free advertising :D

Though you can pay for xtra's like sponsored page boosts.

To each there own and for those that have no interest in a FB account like has been said can just pick up on Milwaukee deals if they are made available here in this thread.

There are also many private tool sales being posted thru that page along with Nicks "deals" on other items there are many different brands of tools not just Milwaukee.

Thats the extra battery on top of the one in the box right?

Yup, found one also. Had to bite. Rarely find deals as my HDs are apparently either on top of their stock or they get cleared out quickly. Was shocked to find it.

Don't want to be greedy, but - hopeful for maybe another reduction and a return/rebuy situation.

Milwaukee coming out with the cordless 7.25" miter saw. Honestly wouldnt be surprised if that one sells better than the 10"

I really wanted a cordless miter but the 10" really isnt overly portable. Big and heavy (I can only imagine moving around the DeWalt 12" model).

Could anyone comment on the Milwaukee miter saw stand? Worth it?

Seems like it can be had online for about ~$120

I went to a Milwaukee demo "thing" at a local HD and learned something. There have been mention in this thread about the current "Free 6.0Amp" M12 battery with certain purchases at HD.

I learned the deals you see ONLINE are not the deals available for direct purchase in the store. I found out WHY... HD Online and HD stores are supplied by TWO different Deal arms of Milwaukee. Two different representatives. Two different departments within Milwaukee.

That said... I got a TWO free 6.0 batteries today. One with the purchase of the Fuel Drill Driver combo... and one with the purchase of the Hawkzall Fuel M12 bare tool. One of those deals is still active online but not the combo purchase "online". However both deals are still active in person at the store.

Did you get the M12 Fuel Hackzall in store? The signage says limited store availability and I've never seen one around me in store.

They had 1 for the demo ... and was sold as an open box after the demo. The one I got was part of a "delivered to store free" thing. So yea... sorry for the misunderstanding...

to clarify ... one came from an online order (picked up at store) * Hackzall
second one came from the purchase of the Fuel Combo kit $199

I almost bought the $99 combo deal but after playing with both sets of tools... thanks to the demo... it was hands down on my choice of the FUEL version.

They have a BBB rating of F - buyer beware.

Looking for someone who's used it to give the yay/nay. Thanks, though!

Can't comment on the stand but haven't had any issues buying from Rural King and I know many others here regularly buy from there as well. I find it surprising their rating is so low!

:headscrat I've been more than pleased with their service. Just read the complaints, and looks like they were selling or offering more than they actually had to sell. Ya, that will ruffle some feathers.

I almost ordered the Milwaukee stand, but prefer something that folds up in one motion, like the Ridgid.

Eh. I doubt I'll get the information fast enough, and I hate Facebook with a burning passion anyway. It's not worth the headache, and I'm not about to send money all over the place without receiving an invoice first.

He might do that. Can't be sure, but I suppose I'll just find the deals other places for convenience, transaction records, and better privacy control until I hear otherwise.

I'd shoot him an e-mail, but being that closely associated with Facebook and having a Gmail address... No way man. Not when it's going to relay personally identifiable information through those services.

I'm sure he's a great guy, but I think we are incompatible from a business perspective.

I hate FB too, which is why I quit 6 months after it first started (in college before anyone could join), but recently I made a new account without ANY personal information on it. I use it to browse his deals & for other couponing reasons.

I understand being paranoid, but do you think you are really that special for FB to look over all your communication, I know I'm not. I don't know how having a gmail addy & FB account is a conspiracy, but best of luck with your tin can & shoe string looking for deals :lol_hitti

some stores don't carry it. go to a big metro store, and they have tools mid-size cities don't.

I'm in Atlanta. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough. Usually I see it in the computer for clearance but they don't have on hand. Probably because they never carried it I guess.
