WOW....milwaukee really is the only option in the 12v for now.... I just got the milwaukee ratchet 12v with 2 batteries and charger...works like a charm.... My collection of 12v are of bosch since the early days of 10.8v...and have a lot of batteries and tools....but I just couldn;t find a ratchet....Milwaukee was the only option...no choice...
Now I am thinking...hell bosch doesn;t come out with **** compared to Milwaukee for the 12v tools.... so thinking I am going to switch over to milwaukee...but damn.. How do I get rid of my old bosch stuff without taking a big hit....any solutions.

IT would be great if somehow you can mod the bosch batteries to work with milwaukee tools.... I looked at dewalt 12v is ****...almost like they don't care just like when they got rid of us old timers of dewalt 18v to 20v lithium and screwed all the 18v collection of tools..

really milwaukee is the king of power tools...its just too bad they seem almost like the most expensive too....I hate to carry different brand battery tools...

question.. i've never owned a cordless screwdriver. i see the m12 screwdriver on some kits, whats the difference? slower speed i'm guessing?

also, where would the cheapest place to get one? as well as a drill and driver? don't need the fuel line or anything... brushed and basic is absolutely fine. just would like a smaller tool for when i do stuff like drawer boxes and such when i'm going to be drilling small holes and using small screws. my m18 fuel is a bit big to lug around with intricate work.

just looking for a drill and a couple batteries (don't have to be high amp, wont get used much) or a kit and a couple batteries. cheap is king

Cordless screwdrivers tend to have a clutch that can be set so you don't strip the screw or the material you are screwing into.

Best place? HD, Amazon, eBay... pick your poison...

I have my eye on the M12 Fuel screwdriver... in a week or two... it will be in my toolbox

The M12 2494-22B drill and impact driver combo deal is $99 at CPO and also comes with a free 3.0 battery offer...You get the drill driver two 1.5 ah batteries and tool bag

There is also a special package deal on the 2401 screwdriver right now too...the 2482-22 comes with the driver, a flashlight, a bit set, two 1.5ah batteries, charger and soft case is $109 at CPO and ToolTopia has the same offer for $99

The 2401-21 single battery kit for $69 seems to be out stock everywhere I just looked

Bare tool 2401 screwdriver is like $75 most places new. The 2401 tool is variable speed 15 position clutch with drill mode and up to 500 rpm, 175in lbs of torque, very lightweight

They now refer to it as a subcompact tool.

I have the original version with the slightly longer nosepiece and it is more than adequate for small jobs

The brushed 2406 screwdriver has 2 speed ranges 400/1500, 18 position clutch and makes 275 in lbs

Bare tools usually go for $84 and kits are like $129 most places

The bare tool Fuel 2402 is normally $119 and a -22 kit is on a promo at some places for $169 with free 6.0 battery offer right now...though HD has a different offer of $189 with a shockwave bit set.

Fuel is rated 325in lbs torque

Is pretty powerful and just about same specs (torque/rpm) as the M12 Fuel drill though lighter and better balanced. I bought one bare tool with free 2.0 battery offer quite a while ago. I use it often to drive screws indoors instead of using the impact driver.

Where you buy is up to you as sales tax and shipping charges can be a factor for some people. Some tool vendors like HD or Amazon and even Mr Nick of FB notoriety usually ship for free. CPO and ACME normally have a flat fee for basic shipping under $199, other places such as Toolup charge differently usually by distance (zip code)

If you never bought from CPO before I think you can get free shipping on your first order

You know dewalt makes an adapter to use the 20v batteries with the old 18v tools? I'm a Milwaukee fan though so I vote staying that route.

A M12 screwdriver is a drill without a chuck. Same speeds (1 or 2 depending on model), torque, other settings. So no traditional twist drill bits can be used. It instead has the same 1/4" hex shank as an impact driver. This is the tool you would use a non-impact bit in & not worry of it exploding on you.

I have a set of impact rated drill bits, so they are on a 1/4" shank. With those & regular driver bits (syphilis, star...), I find myself using the Fuel Screwdriver more than my Fuel Hammer Drill. It is much faster changing bits, and is lighter (though much of that has to do with the hammer mechanism in the drill).

With that, your best all around option would be a drill & impact kit (skip the screwdriver). Milwaukee doesn't sell the screwdriver as a combo kit, so it isn't as good of a value. You can get their basic 12v drill & impact w/ bonus 6ah battery for $99 (at least you could last week in store), but has smaller 3/8 drill chuck, single speed impact, & bottom end 1.5ah batteries. I personally would get a M12 Fuel kit (includes 2 & 4ah batteries) plus bonus 6ah battery currently. Well, actually I would wait until Decemeber if you can, as that is when 2nd gen replacements come out which are of course better, but also over 1" shorter on the drill.

They had that same kit at Home Depot the week before Father's Day with a free 6.0 battery

This has been cover previously, BUT in case people haven't read about it, deal is still active in-store. Just grab the kit and grab a M12 6.0 battery, go to register, scan both and it does it automatically, no manager or special code needed.

Deal ends this week, I forgot what date. 23rd or 24th

I don't think that kit is $99 anymore but the free 6.0 battery is still active.

I didnt think so either, which I recommended getting the Fuel kit in my post above. For $50, the jump in batteries & power is well worth it.

Same goes for that $50 Ridgid vac that was on special. Really wish I got 2 now

Both stores near me seemingly just ran out of 6.0's over 5 days ago and have not restocked. They still have the sign up for the deal but I think corporate intentionally doled out a small number of 6.0's to each store ----- at least the smaller stores.

Just bought it on HD.com and have been watching it for awhile as it comes back in stock very briefly before selling out again.

tuc04 posted this in a new thread in Hot Deals:

just bought a 2460-20 rotary tool for 60$, free shipping. 2$ less than a CPO refurbished one, with no tax or shipping, which CPO would have added.

thanks for idea....I tried but I wanted to buy from cpo...authorized but they charge tax...so I decided to check HD.com...told them I can discount on ebay or competitor...want my sale business....lol
they have the rotary bare tool..79...and the whole kit...which I got...which includes the charger, 1 battery and bag case...for 99.... so I did a online chat order asking for discounts or whatever.... and they told me since 1 time first order customer will do 10%...but it ended up giving me 18 dollars off....yeah...

so free shipping, , and 8 dollars tax...ended up total for $87...happy...

I was searching for cordless rotary tool...was going after dewalt one but nothing cheap and finding out its way different then dremel compatible..and dremel cordless is weak.... only option is Milwaukee.... now I wonder if 6ah battery on it will make it run stronger then the 1.5ah battery...

I've been debating on that one or the fuel kit for $199. But with the new fuel versions coming out I'm tempted to wait.

if there is a fuel version, i always go that way. as for new fuel versions, you need to figure out if the improvements are worth the additional cost, since they old versions will likely go on sale . . . .

If anyone is still thinking about getting Milwaukee Outdoor equipment, the B1G1 promo at HD expires today, if you can find both in store. All of my local stores said they were sold out, but the 2 I stopped into yesterday had a couple each. I grabbed another set (10% off + menards 11% rebate :D) just to flip the trimmer & keep the battery.

Out of stock online, but still live in stores

Buy the M18 String Trimmer get either a M18 Fuel Blower ($149), Fuel Hedge Trimmer ($169), or 5ah battery ($129) for free. So the total is $299 + tax for 2 items. If you have a military discount, ask them to just take 10% off the trimmer, so the other item still rings up "free."

If you choose not to keep one of the items, the prices are pro-rated, so the trimmer comes out to <$200 on the receipt, and the other items is closer to $100, depending on which item you get.

both the mid torque and the barekit1 are still backordered for me from 8Jun17. i can't imagine how i missed that sale for almost a *week*.

nice to know that they are at least getting stock in, even if i am down in the list somewhere.

i got notice from ACME yesterday they they were shipping me something that weighed 8.75 lbs. no mention of what it is. got an invoice from them today telling me it is the BAREKIT1, mid-torques still backordered.

i emailed them last week asking for an estimate for the mid-torques and BAREKIT1. they told me "sometime in july". hopefully the BAREKIT1 arriving early bodes well for the impacts.

I did the $199 fuel deal... omg it's a keeper. The new stuff coming out is just a bit smaller... not worth waiting for for me...

Also snagged the 2402 screwdriver with the free battery... Also a fuel version.

Here's the $199 fuel deal +6.0 battery.

Looks like the new impact in the picture

Along with a being a bit shorter the "new" M12 Fuel impact will also have 4 torque mode settings as opposed to just the two of the original Gen 1 version. One will be similar to the 4th mode setting on the Gen 2 M18 Fuel impact driver designed for self tapping sheet metal screws.

I've pretty much been ok with the size and performance of the original 2453 impact driver :dunno:

Darn, if that is over now I missed it. Thanks for the heads up on it though
