Is the dual 9.0 + charger for $199 @ HD a worthwhile purchase?

By itself.....I doubt it.

I bought the bundle deal they have... two tools and you get a free 9.0/charger

The eligible tools were the fuel 1/2" impact, circular saw, grinder, 9.0/charger and maybe another one or two.

Impact was 219. 9.0/rapid charger was 199. Then got a free 9.0 and charger.

The 9.0 takes about 4 hours to charge on the regular charger.

It's a double edge sword to get you to spend more money. Lol

If you only need batteries that's actually a great deal. Their other deals are more expensive and only include 1 9.0. The closest you get is the saw deal with either a reciprocating or circular saw plus 9.0 starter for 249. If I had a use for more I would probably jump on this deal

If anyone is considering the 9.0 batteries....

I have four from Home Depot bundle deals. I rarely use my 5.0 batteries anymore.

I keep two 9.0's on the work truck to run the grinder and circular saw. I can get about 45 minutes of solid grinding off one charge with the fuel grinder.

Running it on the impact, I honestly don't know how long it lasts because I've Taken 15 semi wheels off and it was still 1/2 charged.....

I just bought the dual 9.0 w/ charger deal at HD this morning. With my veteran discount its $180. Since Amazon wants $160 for ONE battery and charger I thought this was worth it.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $85 for a 9ah, knowing that was the lowest listed price from an authorized retailer (toolup last week). A guy on Craigslist near me sells 9.0s for $100 each, never seems to run out either. The crazy thing is, he also charges $100 for the 6ah batteries. So 2x 9ah + charger for $200 is right on target imo (I wouldn't pay more than $30 for rapid charger), if I was in the market.

For a while I was selling my extra 9's for $150, then $140, then I stopped as the value seemed to drop off dramatically during the spring.

Did you store carry it specifically, or did you get them to bundle it and adjust the price?

If they carried it in store, I might consider another set, as Menards has the 11% going on this week.

That's a snowball of an answer. There are always deals on their stuff, but that changes every year, and depends on the retailer. Milwaukee doesn't sell anything directly, and they have different promotions through different retail channels.

Home Depot has had an offer the last several years for buying an Impact / Drill Kit & another tool or battery, get $150 or $200 off depending on kit bought.

But they do the same thing with Ridgid & Dewalt.

I can use my 9.0 45 min straight on my new water transfer pump and still have one bar showing

HD had the two batteries and charger in one blister pack, no bundling necessary. I saw it yesterday, looked online and noticed most kits are one battery, then I went back to verify it had two batteries, and bought it today.

it seems to me someone on here was looking for screw in handles for their grinder or something. here are two from ebay. i dont know anything about either, although they are not expensive:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/182330697084

7 left, 8$ free shipping

and this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/263107029017

6$ plus 12.40$ shipping (for me, from PA to MA, not really that far)

a lot more, but if it is the one you need . . . . . .

Milwaukee 18V Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum, Model# 0880-20
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200358572_200358572

Its $99 free shipping.

The deal is $20 off $100 purchase. So instead of trying to find $1 item on the site to get the deal, I purchased an extra filter with it.

Excellent. I used this to pick up the 2680-20 4.5" grinder. Tax in OK took $9 of that back

That's fine, but $199 / 2 is $100 a piece, and then figure $30 for the new Rapid Charger... seems like $199 is a pretty good price and just about inline with $85/battery.

I've bought and sold a bunch of 9.0s breaking up kits, and that seems like a really solid deal to me.

Good deal, you got a better price than I did with a Veterans discount. It is the best price I've seen on 9.0 batteries from a reputable seller and I much rather deal with HD vs. some guy from Craigslist you meet at the 7-11.

If your going to do it buy as much as you can, I added and subtracted a few things and noticed the shipping never changed. Added a stool and it went up $23. Then I started a new cart and added just the stool and it was $37. Should have just added the stool in with the original order. Oh well. It looks like a legit employee ordering site and even mentions if being delivered to employee facility they deliver every Wed. They always farm those promotional stores out to 3rd parties.

Thanks! Got a couple 2.0 batteries.. 59 bucks shipped with no tax...

Also, they have the bare m18 multi tool for 85 bucks shipped... not an insane deal but right on par with a decent recon price

i am interested in a 2355 M12 flashlight. they seem to floor out at about 80$ at online storefronts, and about 70$ on ebay.

is there somewhere i am missing that offers a better deal?

nope, your missing a better flashlight imo (jk, sort of). I love everything Milwaukee, but did not like that flashlight. I was expecting brighter for the size. I know it says 1000 lumens, but I got this Coast light at the same time, and love it many times more. Smaller & recharges via USB.

I sold my M12 light for $70 on craigslist. I got the Coast for ~$55 I think. If you do need the Milwaukee light, it is a much better deal getting it with a battery, sometimes you will see it with the free knife (not the low end Milwaukee ones), or another tool.

Milwaukee is also coming out with USB rechargable lights this fall. Headlamps and smaller flash lights

one thing to consider about a rechargeable light is that if it runs out in the middle of a job, you are scrod. a M12 light you can pop the battery out, and insert a new one . . . . .

i think milwaukee made a mistake here. i think they are smart to go after a small footprint battery, even with a USB charging option. they should have made the battery removable and put out a new changer with a hole for the new battery in it. there is certainly room on the current rapid charger . . . .

i wonder if the bulb in the m12 light is replaceable with a heftier one . . . .?

I'm pretty sure they said the battery was removable in the USB rechargeable lights so you could swap out batteries if you had to.

It could be either. I have a rechargeable black diamond flashlight that has a built in lithium battery which is not removable. https://www.rei.com/product/878229/black-diamond-ember-power-light-flashlight That also works as a backup battery to charge cell phones too.

Then I a fenix UC 35 which is rechargeable but has a removable lithium battery, that isn't a backup battery for other devices.

It could be either. There are so many brands already out there, Fenix, Coast, streamlight, black diamond, o light, etc. I'm not sure why milwaukee would get into such a crowded market, if they are going with that style light and not a newer m12 or m18 compatible light.

The coast I referenced above, takes either a LiIon battery that has a micro-USB port to charge, or it comes with a sleeve that houses 4xAAA to power it if in dire need. I've never run it down all the way, so the sleeve has stayed in my glove compartment with 4xAAA for a rainy day.

The Coast Hp8R is under $53 at Amazon right now (about the same at Walmart too). After coupons/deals I probably paid closer to $40 when I got mine at X-mas, but after using it, I would pick it up at $55 if I didn't already have one. It has a good weight too it, but not over sized for my hand like the M12 was.
