Merc, nice haul! Those Atlas saws are good saws! is it complete with the fence?

Yes sir, though the fence clamping mechanism needs some work. The switch is only hanging because the front part of the fence (quite narrow, actually) was taken off so it would sit flat on the trailer. I'm kicking myself because the throat plate fell off somewhere on the two hour ride home...didn't think to remove it first. Missing a side plate and the front door, but even has the original Atlas motor.

Will know if it runs in a day or so when I get the time and the wife forgives me for filling up the garage again :willy_nil Most things in it are for the garage sale we're planning on having in a couple of weeks, so I figured what's a little more? Will probably flip this one though, no time to rehab it...unless I can find a spot for it.

I found a garage sale 5 minutes from home this morning and wasn't optimistic but was pleasantly surprised. A couple of WW2 Jeep items made my day and the rest was just a bonus. The second picture is the possible WW2 items, then Thorsen, PowrKraft, a Craftsman vixen file handle with box, Jeep grease gun with Bakelite handle and working Quartermaster Corps tire gauge. The last shot is a headlight switch.

A decent morning! 4 stops planned 2 optional, and I hit one TOO right off the bat just down the street from me.

The TOO had a few things; Some (more) hinges. A Columbian Homeowners vise, A hasp, (some of these old ones I pick up for repair jobs. you can't buy these new...), A 3" "lazy Susan". Six for all.

attachment.php

the next couple were duds. One looked great from the street but it wasn't anything I wanted/needed. The last of four was a House clean-out/Estate sale. run by I guy I have gotten chummy with. He always gives me good prices, and he's taken my number as he has another good one coming up! :D

This one wasn't bad...

First nab was a Kennedy parts bin:

attachment.php

Some odds and ends; Proto Snips, Mini Jorgansen wood clamp, Western hunting knife, an old school iron WITH the handle! A couple of aluminum film canisters, welding magnet, and a mini cap gun.

attachment.php

A couple of extra wide adn heavy Yard sticks:

attachment.php

Back side: the numbers reversed just flipping one! the other is for wallpaper?

attachment.php

Last was a ten drawer card file cabinet. This thing was HEAVY! It took took three to load it (tipping it in) when I came back, and three with rollers and levers to unload (my daughter and SWMBO were helping unload...) All told he charged me $20!

This is going to replace a stack of carry boxes, and probably add floor space. (Things like this is how I keep buying and still have a place to put things... This one will be # 3 and #2 is larger and still empty...) Actually most if not all the content of #1 will go here, and the the boxed tools into #1... This will make things like clamps and torque wrenches easier to get to...

I then hit the HS Flea, and most of what I was interested in was more than I was willing to give.

I did find one mini wood handle driver for a buck:

attachment.php

I decided not to go for the "optional" stops, as I needed to go back for the card file cab.

When I came back for the file cabinet, as it was too big for my Samurai... I re-walked the place and found this! Actually I found a better one that was adjustable, but the guy had set it aside for himself. then said this other one was still available:

attachment.php

A buck! I may replace this post with something lighter, and adjustable as this is likely to become something I take hunting when I'm actually out still hunting or taking a stand... I can also use it for a gun rest...

Model no is TL-122-D.
Late 1944. Last of the WWII issue flashlights. First one (TL-122-A) was OD paint over brass, all the other were composite/plastic, starting with the B series in 1943. The D series was the only one with the colored lenses and an extra bulb under the cap in the extended base. These all had US Army Signal Corps part numbers, but they were issued to all branches. Who is the maker?

I passed on a few items today but did manage to snag this Snap-On 'Fuel Pressure Tester' in a nice condition metal box with raised lettering. The gauge itself is in perfect condition.

Paid $20.00 for it.

I need to ID the unit so I can find an original or re-print of the manual.

I found an estate sale in the town next to where I work, and after a Saturday morning in the office, I swung by on the way home. Not much to start with and almost all the good stuff was gone by noon. I found most of the tools and the vise in the basement and then moved out to the garage. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the green-handled adjustable hanging from a nail, but it's a newer Channellocks 8" that someone Plastidipped.

Wiss snips
Craftsman -V- DOE, 11/16" X 19/32"
Kleencut scissors
Craftsman 391-5191 7" woodworking vise

Total damage was $8.51f126a2e4ec3524e555964ee3cdffa3.jpg88116a84878256f150e0c51a1d268b2f.jpg2b75ceb04b87f144c21c8031e3b931af.jpg

Only makers mark is "bright star" and that the trademark is registered.

Wow - very impressive finds this weekend!

Outlaw -

This light is definitely a Dazor; I have the more common florescent version as one of my desk lamps:

Also, please let me know if you are interested in in trading/selling the lighted grinder shields; I have a vintage Cincinnati grinder that is begging for a pair:

After a week and a half of driving across the country with no time to stop (or way to get anything home) I have been jonesing for the hunt. Checking the listings only one looked good and it opened at 8 this AM. Packed with all kinds of stuff, there was a Heritage 3 drawer in the ad that looked promising. Well, when I got there, the 3 drawer was long gone (sale started yesterday) but I picked up the following for $15:

Plomb LA Doe, P&C phillips, some electonics books, a casting reel and a cool old multimeter (not sure if it works yet)

I then went to Home depot as I needed a new trashcan and light bulbs, so afterwords I drove around that side of town and spotted a TOO just starting. I spied a tool box pushed out, so I though I would stop. Glad I did. There was a nice worm drive saw for $25 that I picked up, Skil Mag 77

I looked at price he posted on the toolbox, a Snap On KR657A, and had to double check it was right. When he confirmed it I opened up my wallet and paid him. (He was an old dude, moving out of his house):

That price? $25 (Ir needs a couple slides and a cleaning, but still...

What is this "TOO" acronym for some kind of sale, that's just started popping up today?

Went to three estate sales today (only two were for me, one was for my 4yo). The middle one had a bunch of Tonka priced for collectors, but he found an Iron-Man mask he liked. So success there. Overall was just under $20 for what I got (wife got a couple of Tiffany repro lamps, a halloween decoration and a vase as well).

First stop yeilded a 2 drawer G/R Craftsman carry box, the large Bonney pliers (they seem much larger than most of my other pairs), the books (last pic), a None Better 1/2" extension, the wrench tray, buffing compounds, Utica cutters, Vulcan 5/8" deep impact, Never-Dull (almost full), CM 8mm nutdriver, CM punches/chisel, air dryer, and Crowntop face mask. $12 for all that.

Second stop yielded the Bonney DBE (15/16<->1"), the Snap On Torque wrench (have to check calibration against a known good wrench, but dial moves), the Clik-stop 8" Proto adjustable, stanley **** marker (how could I pass up a name like that?), and the file. Cost there was $7.

Not sure if I am going to part out the carry box, or my son may claim it instead of the one I am stripping down for him. He told me "I want a box that looks like yours", so it may be already claimed (have a grey/red stack).

OK I spent some time moving things in the garage and made space for the ten drawer card file, and moved the case into place. (even empty of drawers that sucker is HEAVY!)

I did so well making space, I'm going to take a stab at moving the other one I've had for over a year next to it, and REALLY get busy moving stuff! AFTER I rest from moving the first one, and AFTER the ladies get back from shopping...

The only thing your host came home with today was these photos of a foot-pedal operated Corner-Rounder. The patent is 1937. I had no idea what it was for, specifically, until I came home. I thought it may have been used in woodworking or at least fabric or upholstery oriented. I pictured these in a factory. If you ask me, that's an awful lot of machine just to make a round corner on postcards, documents, etc!! Essentially, you slip the corner of the paper into the guide, step on the pedal underneath, and a punch with a rounded blade chops the corner off.

A couple I missed from yesterday:

Wiss inlaid scissors, (I think this is the smallest pair I own from Wiss)
Voss scissors, (good steel; sharped slightly and cleaned up these should be good...)
Bronze mail slot;

And the mail slot with most of the crud removed...

I just recently picked up a set of the swivel sae snap on sockets in the original metal case at a moving sale for $10. Needless to say a couple other guys were giving me dirty looks when they heard the price. He had other tools but mostly cheapo brands and people were like vultures all over it all. I was quite happy with my find. All are nice and tight except the 9/16 and it's not bad.

I was told pictures or it didn't happen so here they are:
