So it was in their shop classroom? Or did the janitors have a repair shop?
School board handles all the schools and many of the colleges in the county. So probably from tech school maintenance department. Maybe even central maintenance department.

Went back today for 1/2 price day and the drill press was still there, it's a 12" with a 2/3HP motor. Made an offer and brought this home. My neighbor had the metal stand which I'm going to clean up and make a top and mount the drill press on. Should be a decent flip.

Even included the original manual and fence (not pictured).

Was able to hit day 2 of a 2 day sale this morning. Pics showed plenty of machinist tools and sadly many were gone before I got there.I would have went yesterday except for their insane hours of 10am-3pm??? They certainly can't expect working people to attend. Anyhow got some Starrett parallels,Lufkin 16R grad 18" combo square blade, some center drills,a Plomb DOE,compass and 2 Craftsman punches,a 1977 handgun book and Winchester price list for $15.

MS26 Male-Male Extension, 4" long
MS29 Female-Female Coupling, 1-3/4" long
Thanks for confirming, Hex. That explains why it was needed. There's no Male-Female extension! We normally see these connectors in the primitive pressed steel era. Very unusual for the production era, and, unless I completely missed it, not common to New Britain NB, NONE BETTER, Husky production. Very interesting.

Been a while, these pics are the result of several weekends of scrounging the fleas and the garage sales.

Pic 1 - set of 3 vintage hacksaws (Stanley and 2 no-names), a Craftsman hand mitre saw, Lodge flat skillet, and a set of VA license plates, all for $10

Pic 2 - military issue ratcheting wrench set, made by Imperial, almost new but a few spots of rust, complete set except for the largest one (1"), $30 in the tool roll

Pic 3 - drill bits, brace bits, screwdrivers, chisels, a couple railroad spikes and files (the latter will become knives in the near future), all for around $5

Pic 4 - a large gear of some sort, glass insulator, a pair of cobbler's anvils, and a 1932-dated new box of Trowbridge's Grafting Wax  - all for $6

Pic 5 - set of 4 claw hammers (2 True Temper, 1 Germantown, and 1 no-name), and a tile knife, all for $5

Pic 6 - 3 C-clamps (2 Cincinnati Iron, and 1 Malleable Iron), a large dressing wheel for grinders, 2 pairs of old scissors (no-name), and a putty knife, all for $8

Pic 1 - 2 pairs of tin snips (1 Craftsman, 1 Wiss), two tape measures (1 Craftsman and 1 Evans), a spark plug gauge, set of Ryobi driver bits, a ring gauge (never seen one of these before!), and don't know what it's called but a tool used for copying patterns the needles move up and down and stay in position for you to copy - all for $15

Pic 2 - set of various crimpers and pliers - Krauter, Utica and Craftsman, and a weird alligator wrench, all for $5

Pic 3 - Allen socket wrench with sockets, a smaller adjustable wrench, 4 Craftsman box wrenches (2 are long C), and 5 sockets (2 vintage Craftsman and 3 are antique pressed-steel) - all for $6

Pic 4-5 - metal box with about 20 small DOE wrenches from the 20s-40s, Billings, Fairmount, Bonney, etc. Check out the Cadillac wrench that was in the lot! - all for $5

I didn't even know Imperial Eastman (nee Imperial Brass) made these snap-over type ratcheting wrenches. (They are famous for tube flaring kits.) I have the same set made by Triangle-era Herbrand.

Went to Danvers,MA to pay for and have my latest Craigslist find towed home! 2006 Ford F550 6.0L Powerstroke. Has 144k miles. The flatbed is a 16 foot Knapheide. The truck and flatbed are in amazing shape with very little rust. The engine runs but it's time for head gaskets and head studs plus other 6.0L improvements. I ended up paying $2400 for the truck and then $250 for the tow.:3gears:

Lots of good scores guys! It seems to warming Up! in more ways than one! It's also warmed up here both ways! Not stellar, but Not bad!

I found two Estate sale and got there early for both and was let into the garage area, early on both!

What brought me to the first oe was a vintage MAC 8 drawer chest. 33-1/2 X 18 deep I was hoping for it to be 36" but that seems difficult Lots of 30-34" wide, designs out there but I'm not finding any at 36 (I want a 36 for holding a 36" Montezuma slant front box...)

In this case the wanted WAY more than I felt it was worth in the condition it was in - $500 with the tools. :wtf: if the tools were something decent, fine, but very few tools and not many truck tools.

I may swing back by tomorrow, and see if they are more realistic, but if its gone I won't be heartbroken.

What I did get there was still worth the time and stop:

A very small Norlund hatchet with the leather blade cap, Plvmb Combo, and a brass and steel power tool handle.

The vintage bait holder was buying my childhood back! we had 2 of theses and always had the jars of Pautzke's "Balls-O-Fire! on hand! they are still in business too! three tubs of vintage Daisy BB's and a bunch of targets with parts ordering info on the back! A Brass hose Nozzle.and a Camco fishing/bait knife, sort of a cheap thing but sort of cool and the guard is also an opener!.

attachment.php

Three Wagner Magnalight pots with lids.

attachment.php

A Small Copper Scuttle (needs some elbow grease...) A couple of bit of glass ware and a dark green insulator

attachment.php

It was twenty bucks for all!

the second stop was a bust but it was on the way to the second Estate sale that opened an hour later than the first, and again I was a bit early. Again I was allowed to peruse he outside areas before official opening.

What brought me to this one specifically was I saw the pic of the vise, and its distinctive profile, and there were other tools as well. I didn't see the vise and asked about it, and it was actually screwed down to a work bench else where, and I got first dibs but the guy had to verify that it could be sold separate from the bench

I had done all my shopping by the time he was given the green light to sell the vise separate, and he said it was $20. I put up all my other finds, and asked how much for all and he started to count item by item; stopped and sort of glassed over them all (quite a bit of smalls were in a wood box...) and he said "how about $30 for all? I quickly agreed!

So the versa vies (I found the pipe jaws elsewhere and the difference is stark! the poor vise lived outside a lot! A small rail typ clamp on jewelers/hobby vise, the wood box (coming) had the planes and parts, (the small one is complete, I'm hoping the loose blade will fit an orphan I have with an odd width blade..) theree is another hose nozzle above the small clamp on vise, and te odd part in the (rotted) foam lined box is I believe a filter regulator for modle airplane engines. (they had some of those floating around, and the wood box had several glow plugs for them loos in the bottom)

attachment.php

The Wood box. its marked Manila, and it appears pretty old!

attachment.php

Two large Clamps 7 and 8 inch the aluminum clamp is interesting as it can hold THREE things simultaneously, A Yankee Push drill, (I think this is my first Yankee Drill...) two small oil cans (there were more but I liked the small ones.) A SO Witworth 1/8 combo (Does it fit the Glow plugs? Hmmm -Nope!) and an aluminum Coping saw frame.

attachment.php

Lastly I hit TOO and got the SS "garbage can" which I will use on my inside workbench, I small model brass canon (non working but marked Penncraft and USA...) and what I THOUGH was a crystal snowman that trued out to be a dang Clown.. SWMBO got a laugh out of that. (she and the kids hate clowns and she collects snowmen...)

...a 3D lenticular ruler that toggles FRACTION/DECIMAL EQUIVALENTS which I think is pretty darn cool.
I think they're pretty darn cool, too, brother from another mother! :)

Sorry for the delayed reaction, but I wanted to share photos of mine when I replied. Is there anything on the back of yours? Mine appears to be a complimentary marketing gift from a welding supply company, named after the county (Essex). Based on the phonetic pre-Area Code Newark phone number and the pre-Zip Code Newark address, it dates to sometime before 1946.

For those who don't already know it, I like to post pictures in the LEFT-BEHIND category from time to time, either because the items were too expensive for me, or I had enough interest in it for research purposes, but not enough to own it.

This morning I spotted these tools in a box. They appear to be home-made. The cannibalized tools appear to have been some kind of driver or spinner. No two handles are alike. The shanks were apparently hollow, or hollowed, and those tips were inserted. I don't know what the tips are, for sure, but I think they're for sculpting. If they were pulled, that blade-like cup underneath would gouge into the material, clay or perhaps something harder. Different shapes and sizes.

Every flea market in NJ has its own personality and character. Collingwood, my flea market, is known for four things: guys smoking big fat cigars, wearing vintage hats, partaking from the Nathan's hot dog cart, and their cars. As many of you know, I occasionally share pics of some of the more interesting or ugly autos. For my Bay Area buddies, I was truly impressed by this iconic authentic VW Microbus.

Perhaps the nicest thing was this set of barissters. Made in Ohio, all glass is perfect and everything slides and operates freely. It was free, I just had to hump it out of the basement. They had no idea it separated into 3 pieces.

Nice Barristers! I found a set a couple blocks from my house out for bulk pick up. I picked them up and sold them a week later for $200. They usually go for more, but I prefer to flip things right away.

The ratchet and the male extension with double knurled bands look like two pieces I have I could never figure out who made. Are those both marked Fulton ?

Here's a mag drill Craptain picked up for me a while back. This will come in handy when I go to drill some hold down holes on the welding table.

Barristers usually go for about $200 a section, so sounds like both you and someone else got a good deal!

Yup, sculpting tools. I have a set from loonnng ago called Linozips, made for linoleum block printing. Similar tools are made for wood block printing and other sculpting. Clay sculpting uses loops of wire for the cutting edge rather than the knife-like edges in yours. They look pretty heavy duty - I think they're for wood.

Dayton power hacksaw I picked up for my son today at auction. Pic is after clean up and paint. Color is chevy orange. All my 17 y/o boys equipment is painted that color. We got it going and lined up cutting pretty straight. Not bad $16 dollars.

I am a little behind, so catching up...

Was on a work trip last week, which made me miss the big swap in Portland but I did get to hit the Denios in Roseville, finding:
screen capture tool
Snap-on WWII speeder and flex sockets, Williams ignition set missing a couple, Some MT2 bits and a Cornwell push through. And for $12 I mostly complete set of S-K deep 1/2" impacts! Just need the 1/2"

This week I went to an auto swap that was a whole 12 dudes who all knew each other and really didn't have anything, then TOO's that had nothing while waiting for an estate sale to open at 10am. There I only found a Lufkin center punch and some boxes of matches. So, working my way home on a country road, see a sign for a sale, checked it out and found the following:

All of that was free (three par-x driver, Millers falls plane, glass jar holding bits and a Lufkin 12" brass folding ruler that I forgot to take a pic of) as I was buying this:

Singer model 27 from about 1890. Complete and in good shape, only $5! I don't know why I bought it, I don't sew nor does my wife, who looked at me like I grew a third head when I told her about it.
