There's a Wizard 3/8"D pear head barrel handle ratchet on Ebay right now! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wizard-3-8...902567?hash=item2aa5c6e7e7:g:Of0AAOSwCERayusC

I checked my Wizard jug and I have a 3/8"D Wizard pear head round handle.

You know, we should probably stop talking about Wizard. It's not a collectible brand. No one likes it. There aren't people on eBay trying to buy up all the ratchets and sockets. There's really nothing to see here. We should move on.

I saw a Pittsburgh ratchet at a garage sale last weekend. I hear Pittsburgh is as good as Snap On. Thoughts?

BFBOB, that set should have had the standard knurled ratchet. I believe a number 6272.

Member Peeb posted a NOS set, but thanks to Barfbucket his pictures are no longer in the thread. Set # 85255. His pictures are still on Google if you do an image search.

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=287228

The Wizard flat handle ratchet is older, and the equivalent in Indestro would have that head but a knurled handle, Indestro Super number 2789.

I have that Wizard with that handle as an Indestro in 3/8 so they did make them - #2736. The round handle came later. They also I believe had an open gear ratchet with that handle.

OK Outlaw - would you like to part with your 2736? Even though it's clear that these sets were shipped at least some of the time with the round handles, the barrel handle pear head fits the case better - at least mine and Blue's. The NOS one above, can't quite tell because of the angle.
And thanks to the NOS pix, I now know my set is missing three small sockets :(

So I as I mentioned before I had my own garage sale this last weekend.
Like most of us I know several people from the estate and garage sales.
One of them from a wife and husband duo stopped by my sale last Thursday. She was talking to me a bit and asked if I would be interested in an old Ford Thunderbird convertible. I have enough projects but figured I would go check it out later out of curiosity.

So on Sunday I finally looked at it. It is a 1963 Thunderbird with the standard 390 4 barrel engine. Basic car for a Thunderbird, no AC or power windows. Cool thing though was it had real Ford Kelsey Hayes 48 spoke wire wheels and a reproduction Sports Roadster fiberglass tonneau cover over the rear seats. A VIN number check showed that it was NOT an actual Sports Roadster. So I agreed to pay their asking price. Car has not been running in over 10 years and will take a bit of work. First thing is to get it running and then try to get the top to go down!

Nickle plate, not chrome, and a nickle plated fount (Tank) was common through the 40's/50's other than the war years.

Was it single or dual mantle? And if complete, worth well over the $13 either way. depending on the exact model, possibly much more. The top vents were generally green or red. A few other colors popped in from 60's on.

The earliest model 200's had a red vent and green tank...

Thanks Outlaw! Well, win some, lose some. It was definitely nickel-plated tank then and green top vent. I didn't look closely at the mantle as the silk (?) mantle (?) was gone but I believe it was a single. It wasn't as large as other Coleman's I've used IIRC. They had some decent stuff. It was an estate sale out in the country but woman running the estate sale wouldn't budge on prices. Said she would the next day but I was a bit put off by the attitude and it was a long drive from home. Next time I'll know better on the Coleman.

Yes I got it.

Is it all stock, especially the engine?

I recently was shown a 1965 Corvair Monza Spyder Turbo Convertible that the owner had decided to sell. Nice car, and in similar condition to your Sports Roadster. Not my cup of tea, but a rare car.

I have a 63 Thunderbird Convertible that I have been driving for nearly 30 years.

Pretty fast. In 1965 all Turbo models were Corsas. Spyders were only offered from 1962 to 1964. Don’t forget the vans.

Picked up an SK toolbox - matches a couple in a 2013 SK toolbox thread here on GJ. It's similar to machinist box, but deeper drawers like a mechanics box. I liked that it had the tray. A couple odds and ends in it.. A nice piece for a half inch square drive female ratchet, and a 1/4 hex drive piece that I can match with some sockets I have. also a box of old gaskets and a cool (to me) book of matches from a local Desoto - Plymouth Dealer!

FYI - I haven't gotten around to cleaning it up yet.... soon

Ok - I need help identifying these tools. I picked up a gallon ziplock bag of these long thin tools with a cutout on the end. The estate was from an antique dealer so I suspect these were for jewelry manking (stringing beads, etc) or for rug/carpet repair. But that is just a guess. There were also a bunch of these clamps/clips with rubber inserts.

Anybody recognize these? The last picture is just the contents of the bag dumped into a plastic bin. Oh... $3 for the bag

That looks very similar to mine but your has the front cover that I’m missing.

Found this on CL very local to me and I'm happy as I've been looking for a long time to find a vintage Sun Test Station. Looking forward to cleaning this up and displaying in my garage.

Some fun items picked up last weekend.

hey kt, neat "no gas" sign. a buddy closed his garage last year and we found a couple hand made signs from the gas crisis, he decided to keep them. i wasn't driving during the 1st one, but i remember the 1 we had in the late 70's.

Because of the garage sale I had last weekend I found and bought the Thunderbird.
Now because of the garage sale I have bought some tools!

A guy bought a big plastic goldfish pond from me and wanted a set of Chevy Rally 15 x 8 truck rims I had but had to wait until this Wednesday which was his payday. So he came by late yesterday afternoon to get them told me about a bunch of tools he had just bought cheap. The guy had plenty more so he gave me his phone number and I made arrangements to go there at 5 PM today. Lots of stuff gone already but still plenty left.

I picked out some big USA wrenches, big C-clamps, USA made Vise Grip pliers, 2 steel pegboards, a hardware organizer with a bunch of Letter and Number drill bits, a pair of 6 ton jack stands for one of my car buddies, a large wheel welding cart, a model airplane for another buddy and new in the package Russell AN fittings.

And then I saw it. A Milwaukee hand held bandsaw, one thing I have been looking for.
Surely he is holding onto it but I have to ask if it's for sale.
Yup!
$25 with 3 new blades, works fine!
Woo hoo!!!!
Total for everything was $160 and I will get $40 back for the stands and airplane from my buddies.

The few that I've seen at sales were all priced at $200 or more. I've been on the lookout for years.

It is located on the upper front corner of the driver's door panel. It is a toggle switch with a round bezel. The bezel is marked "TOP." The remote mirror control (if installed) is nearby, and quite similar.
