Got my first Lista Cabinet at a swap meet today. Saw it in the back of a guys truck, as he was unlaoding the rest of the stuff. recognized the color and rushed over. Asked him how much? He says $75! I beat another guy by seconds to get it. Its dirty but I will clean it up. It doesnt fit where I wanted it to go so will have to do a little reworking of my shelf.

Yikes, Outlaw! Glad everyone's OK.

Good thing the excitement happened in the way *back* from camping and not the way out!

Mr_P,
What's the make on the little drill press stand? BTW, I thought of you and your daredevil daughters yesterday. Check out thumbnail 1.

And if pfaustus is checking in, see thumbnail 2! I guess Keith got tired of dealing with some of his clientele!

Missed that Saturday, but I was only doing a quick run through before an appointment.

Funny way to set up a yard sale, but i'd buy that oak box....

Is it bad that before getting to your comment I also pictured Outlaw having an impromptu roadside sale? There may have only been 4 legged and feathered attendees out there, but...

Outlaw- glad to hear the damage was limited and no one hurt.

Since this has been a recurring issue in this thread, I thought you all might like to know that it looks like Ryan has installed a fix for the forum software so future photo uploads from smartphones will show up in the intended orientation instead of sideways. :)

You guys are doing GREAT tis weekend!

Nothing here as I left Friday for camping and came home today. Overall had a good time. had a bad time for 30 min on the way home about 20-25 min into the trip home. I hit a hidden rut/pothole, at 20-25 MPH, and the trailer bounced HIGH, and I either backed off the throttle after the rut, or tapped the brake, or both, and it jackknifed, decoupled (chains held) and flipped over. The cargo box lid ripped off at the hinge and emptied the cargo contents onto the side of the road.

Every plastic tub broke to one degree or another, one of my oak boxes I made Last fall has the hinged side broke open, (but did NOT open.. ) the other oak box appears intact. No Clue yet what the damage is inside...)

We got it righted, reloaded, (some into the rig) and three of us lifted the cover and car top tent onto the top, then strapped it down and finished coming home.

I'll have to fully assess battle damage later, but I may be lookingvfor another trailer. I'm pretty sure the car top tent survived...

Glad you and your family are okay. The rest of its just stuff.

Thanks Guys for the well wishes. Only me on this trip meeting some Coleman people for the first time.

Here is what the trailer should have looked like: I had just remove the two cross straps meant to keep the tarp from billowing the Friday before.

It went from this:

attachment.php

To this in just 30 minutes, as the pics were exactly 30 min apart! you can see the tarps road rash, and that sides fender is kinked a little. It almost is not too noticeable after reloading and using a LOT more straps... as the top and that fairly heavy car top tent was just setting on top of the box, no where near aligned... both top cover and box are heavily damaged. Repairable? Very possibly, but I'l look at other options as well.

attachment.php

The bottom line is that trailer is way too top heavy for the very narrow track width, of 40". (The Box is < 36" wide...) I'l drop any more serious posts here, and be posting both camping trip pics and the crash, and battle damage report in my camping gear thread...

"how much do you want for it?"

once i got it cleaned and limbered up, it turned out to be a black stallion welder's cape and lincoln chipping hammer.

I dislike small trailers because they tend to bounce around so much. I tend to either just try to fit what I can in my truck or go straight to a 18ft flatbed. Thankfully it looks like you were lucky and had only minor damage.

You stole that cabinet DanD. Congrats to you  and, YOU ****! Through a used equipment dealer you's likely pay $75 - $100 per drawer for that cabinet. The seller clearly did not know his product and more to your benefit that you spotted it first. Clean her up and enjoy those quality drawers for your tools.

:+1: Nice score!

Glad to see you survived Outlaw! The weight on top has always concerned me on some of this highlift pop-up campers I see running around here. Unless their water tank is full, there is hardly any weight on the bottom of these rigs. I watched one bounce really high when he hit a pothole and thought it was coming off that hitch, but lucky for him it stayed with the truck!

I'll be hauling my pop-up camper this weekend to the lake for some camping with the family. I'll be extra careful and check my hitch before I make the connection and afterward to prevent any unexpected disconnect!

Went to an estate sale at noon today thinking this was the first day. Wrong! I apparently missed it on Sun and Mon. Hmmm. Anyway, I wish I'd been there earlier.

Here's my haul for $3 - tray from a CM Heritage toolbox (the bottom was rusted out, the tray will clean up real nice and I've got a box that needs a tray), Plumb hatchet, Dunlap driver, Boker pliers, Plomb 3/8" speeder WF-23K, Milwaukee 3" hole saw and a few other miscellaneous things.

Any info on the Boker pliers and the Plomb speeder is appreciated. I've never heard of Boker but clearly made in the USA. Anyone know when the Plomb speeder was available?

I've never heard of Boker but clearly made in the USA.

Boker is probably best known for its knives. It’s an old company that started in Germany. One branch of the family opened operations in New York. Wikipedia has some information and the company website does too. Here’s a link to a USA catalog that may include your pliers:

I've collected quite a few Boker tools since they had wartime contracts to supply tools. Here is a pair of longnoses.

Today was Mac & Snap-on day for me at the flea....
20180509_141757.jpg 20180509_141810.jpg 20180509_142342.jpg

I picked up the Mac seat for $9 and the 2 Snap-on pocket screwdrivers for a $1 for the pair.....
Further down the row I spotted the Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver from 3 tables away....It was on the table with a cheap import pair of pliers amongst a lot of house ware items.
For a minute I thought it wasn't for sale, but when I picked it up the guy said "$2".....Of course, I countered with $1 :) but he held firm :(......none of the bit are original Snap-on.....
20180509_142403.jpg 20180509_162514.jpg

On the back section was a guy with a table full of Snap-on & Mac (with pretty steep prices too) He was asking $40 for the (new) hammer (Snap-on's retail is $47) but I got it for $20....could have got it for $15... but I lost the toss :D.....he "threw in" the wrench tray for $2.....
20180509_142357.jpg 20180509_142438.jpg

Total = $34 bucks......not a steal but O.K. I guess :beer:

Just dragged this bad boy home. 50’s Craftsman / Parks 18” band saw 112.23580. Took me nearly 45 minutes to wrestle it out of the car to where it is by myself! Needs tires and paint, runs smooth and only a spot of rust here and there. 3 bills.

Oh, and already set up for metal :)

Very nice bandsaw score. Figured my 14 would grow up to be 18...still waiting.
That monster would make a great metal cutter with a speed reducing jackshaft - or is that an alternate pulley already on it? If not, it's an easy addition that will greatly enhance its usefulness. I posted pix of my rig somewhere in here.

The second pulley is a 18:1 reducer, so good to go.

If you get a chance, can you measure the metal pulley, and take a pic head-on of the horizontal nameplate with a ruler for scale? Mine is missing, but I want to make a new one, and source a pulley for my gearbox.

20180509_124433.jpg 20180509_124651.jpg

It's 4' x 6' and the guy had 2 sheets.......I bought one and took it home (a mile away) then wished I had offered $100 for both.....went back up to the sale and offer $45 for the other.....He said "no" that he'd hold out for $60.....

Last weekend
Old metal receiver Daisy 880 BB\Pellet gun (needed seals and buffer and a good cleaning)
Very nice! How about a tutorial on what you did and where you purchased the seals and buffer?
I've driven by that Daisy building in Rogers so many times. Supposedly there is a museum close by, but haven't had a chance to check it out.

I used to have that same BB gun as a kid.

Very nice to know about the museum. My dad bought me a Power line 880 as my first gun. Unbelievably accurate. I still have it and have since, purchased 3 more to use for parts if needed.

Second day of an estate sale, couldn't believe this little Atlas mill was still there. Missing most of the table feed parts, came with a tilting drill press vise, not shown. Works fine manually though, already used it for a little vise milling job. Going to flip it, either complete, or will part it out.

Found 2 5HP Mitsubishi VFD's there, guy running the estate sale must not of had any idea what they were, he gave them to me - "you can have those for free, they'd just get thrown out tomorrow". OK!

Very cool little mill. Had no idea Atlas made something like that.
