Traffic keeps me to a reasonable speed as I dream of vintage Snap-on rollers, unscathed Plomb oddities like a child dreams of sugar plum fairies at Christmas. I cut through neighborhoods, take side streets, hoping that I can park fairly close (at least within 2-3 blocks) and...
I did that last week. Showed up at 8:30am for a 7am sale and nothing, was one of my last planned stops on the day and I spent part of the drive home cursing people who post up sales and then don't follow up on them, only to get home and re-check listing and see it was posted for THIS Saturday. So this Saturday, they had the sale listing updated with pictures and I saw a bunch of sockets in bags labeled Proto, K-D, Craftsman and Gray along with a bunch of carry boxes and socket boxes, so I made it my first stop.
Ended up with this:
Starting from top left:
5 K-D sockets
4 Easco's
2 Husky's
3 S-K's
2 Britool British Wentworth sockets
Gray 13-piece 3/8" Metric set (missing the 16mm but with an extra breaker bar). Grabbed this quickly at the sale and started making a pile, only noticed at home it was metric, I'll call that a bonus as even here in Canada the metric tools are still quite rare at sales.
Will Comfo-Grip Philips #1 screwdriver
3 Challenger by Proto Canada sockets
4 Proto Canada sockets
Husky USA 3/8" drive 10" extension
2 Craftsman =v= sockets
Craftsman -v- socket and 1/2" drive extension
Indestro universal
3 Stanley Professional sockets
3 Craftsman -EE- extensions and a bunch of sockets. Should have paid more attention to the Crafstman baggie, but these are still going to be users until replaced.
Oh, and the requesite 2$ Beach hand box to carry it all back to the car, was the best condition of the hand boxes they had, I thought it was going to be a double of one I already have, but this makes it the 7th unique Beach box in my collection (for now). I resisted getting the old (grey) Snap-On box that was there, but it was in far worse condition and it had the wrong handle and hasps and locks.
Oh yeah, also got this wooden Canadian Tire creeper in great condition:
I've been looking for a wooden creeper to cut up and make a hanging wall shelf out of like someone else on here has, but this one is going to be a user it's in too good condition to chop up. Already used it yesterday.
55$ for all, not great but not bad either.
Second stop got me a Johnson framing square and Channellock ball pein hammer (first Channy non-plier too.l I find) for 2$. Will need a new handle for the hammer though.
Then went with a friend to his sister-in-law's house who was clearing out her deceased husband's stuff. Pretty picked over but did manage this :
Channellock 410 Nutbuster's
Unidentified drill gauge
2 Will screwdrivers made for Canadian Tire.
Giant wall-mountable pencil sharpener that escaped the picture, been looking for one to use in the garage for a while.
10$
