I'm ashamed to say that at 32 I would use this feature way too often.
I'm ashamed to say that at 59 my computer organizational skills are just as bad as my actual organizational skills, which means I often have a hard time not only finding a particular tool in my shop or garage, but also finding the photos of the danged tool on my computer. 'Where did I put it last?' in real life translates very well to 'Which folder did I put it in? Flea Market 2017? Williams? DOE Wrenches? GJ Show and Tell? on the computer. Aaaaaargh!

forgot about these, hex sockets in a metal holder. I got them free with a toolbox last recently. I don't see a mfr stamp.

If you've got plenty of hard drive space, you could start making copies of photos that belong in multiple topical folders like that - then they would always be in the first place you look. :)

Nothing - not even the state of disarray of my hobbykeeping - could put me in a bad mood tonight. Tomorrow is the first day of what I like to call the "Early Early Bird" (whereas Friday is the "Early Bird") at one of my two flea markets! And the weather report looks great! 60*F and partly sunny at 7AM! WOO-HOO!

that was all free? I wonder if they dumped it because of recent changes to the scouts?

No Clue about the recent changes to the scouts, but; Nope, I think she was clearing her deceased husbands stuff, on a "finally doing it" mode. Keep in mind EVERYTHING at this sale was free or a buck.

My $20 worth from this Sunday.

US Navy battle lantern, 1960s
Working hot tweezers. Used a set like this a few times in grad school and found them helpful

Those battle lanterns are still in use today and up until a couple of years ago were installed on new build ships. Now they look exactly the same but use LED's. Is yours rechargeable? Some of them are mounted on a charger mount so that they are always ready for emergencies.

I hadn't heard of 'hot tweezers' (HOTweezers), had to look up what the purpose is... thermal wire stripper. And I saw a unit similar to yours that sold for $350 used!

Hexen: I repaired many of those battle lanterns while in the Navy, on board an old WW 11, tin can, as an electrician.

just my 2 cents

Thanks for the interest! My lantern is not rechargeable. It also has a sealed beam incandescent lamp.

Thanks, Mike. Maybe only 100 or so vendors, but there was definitely a first-Wednesday-of-the-season excitement in the air.

Very small but quality haul.

The thing that looks like an old book with a worn-out binding is a vintage travel chess set. Well, half of one anyway. The vendor threw the pieces into an earlier sale as a kicker, absentmindedly forgetting they go to the folding book board! And apparently the buyer never opened the "book"! I know the vendor from both of my flea markets, and he knows the buyer he gave the pieces to, so I am hoping we will all be together at one of the two flea markets at the same time soon. (Not sure what the guy thought he was going to do with chess pieces with pegboard pegs on the bottom - except maybe make his own board?)

The DOEs are a Bonney -ZENEL- 3028S (25/32 x 5/8), which is a WWII Jeep/Dodge/GMTK wrench, and a Snap-on S1922 (19/32 x 11/16).

The screwdriver is a STANLEY No. 2 tip with the correct Phillips License #1 and correct wartime patents on the shank. A WWII GMTK-spec tool (paired with a No. 3 tip).

The socket is intriguing. It's a vintage Walden with Imperial (fractional) and Metric markings. I have never seen that before.

EDIT: The pack of playing cards is for my brother. Mr. Trick Shot. (Or so he likes to think...)

I picked these up Saturday after spotting a CL ad less than four miles from my home. I've been looking for a good set of chisels for well over a year. I'm super excited to have these. They were a great bargain at $50. IMO. :0)

So first time out in a while and stopped by a moving sale. After looking around with no luck I spotted these and many more mostly farm implement wrenches stuffed in two boxes in corner of garage which were not in the sale. I asked the lady if she would be willing to sell the boxes of tools in garage. She said her husband wasnt home but she was not wanting to move them again as her husband was unable to. She took $40 for both boxes. Too much to list

Nice haul. Several collectibles. Couple alligator wrenches (Saxon? Bonney?), one of them being adjustable (guessing a "Victor"). Three curve-handled adjustables. (Curious about the one with the cut-out handle). Guessing Petersen chain vise-grips. Funky vise-grips (guessing BMC). A decent set of combo wrenches that look like Barcalo, perhaps Lectrolite. A huge T-handle wrench. Structural (spud) wrench. And lots of users in there if you need users.

EDIT: That's quite a splashy debut on this thread by the way! :) (Unless I just missed you prior. My apologies if so. There are so many contributors and it moves so quickly, it's hard to keep track of everyone.)

EDIT2: Also curious about both the adjustable hack saw frames and the starter/manifold DBE that has a long quarter moon bend in it.

That's a steal. I've got that same set and they are good quality and hold an edge well. Those don't look like they've been used at all. You'll enjoy them.

you ****! shoot, just one of those mini anvils is worth what you paid. nice work.
I was definitely eyeing those tiny anvils too tj.
I picked one up last week, but it looks kind of cheap to me. Someone give me a mini-tutorial on mini anvils. What are the valuable collectibles? Should they be marked? If so, what are the brands to look for? Same as the big anvil makers?

EDIT: Added pic.

I think the 4 mini anvils, 4, oiler, and 4 hatchets on the back rail get you to suckage status!

Lugz, Mini anvil values are all over the map, (I'm talking less that a pound, usually WAY less than a pound...). Some are not worth hardly anything, some are worth a lot more.

Hard to find makers marks on these. unfinished cast is not a good sign. Brass/bronze is a big step upwards. If it looks like the real deal, that's a plus.

Its the kind of thing you need to rely on your instincts as much as anything, and try not to pay stupid $$ regardless.

I have three on my desk; two brass/bronze, and one cheap unfinished cast. I've no clue on street/Eprey value on any, but my money (sic) is on the brass/bronze pair.

Were they used as real anvils for small stuff like jewelry, or just made as paperweights/collectibles?

Either way, you tiny anvil owners should share in the tiny tools thread!

They were used for both, but I'd guess mostyl paperweights...

and mine have already been shared there. (I started the thread!) :pimpflash

Okay, it's been a while since I read the beginning of that thread. The main goal of that was to point the new guy to it. :)

The cut out curved adjustable is 8" B&C as is the other. One of the hack saw is Millers Falls No.6 and the other is Bell System No.70 Whale. Manifold and starter DBE is a Barcalo. The T handle is Mossberg I believe
