I went to Hartville flea market, not a good day. Too hot then rained out. Found a couple things, though.

3x Felco pruning shears, used (one of them is covered in pipe wrench "bites" lmao). Already gave 1 to mom. Recently resharpened.

12" Boker USA adjustable

15" Vanadium Tool Co. Athens, O. alignment bar

Warner-Swasey Turret Lathes Cleveland, Ohio marked HSS tool cutter gage for lathes. Pretty neat.

Did a bit of research...the Felco no. 8 pruning shear looks to be around $45 new...so 3 for $7 I don't think was bad.

The Boker, based on a cursory Google image search, seems to be made by Utica. I found it odd there are no other markings but the pictures stamp. No forged in size, or USA, seems to me like most adjustables have 1 if not both, this has neither. Tapes 12-1/4". Appears cad plated, but worn. Square throat, and probably easiest and smoothest turning adjustable I own. Stamp different than what I see online. Whopping $4, seller very cool so I didn't negotiate.

Looks like Vanadium was bought by Cornwell. I had been looking for a Vanadium in person after reading about them, but didn't see one. Today was first I'd seen so I grabbed it with WS gage for $10, not a steal but liked both. Bar is 15" long, 1/2 hex, slight bends. Good sized bar.

I passed on a Billings 48oz ball pein $5 that had a way undersize non-original fiberglass handle with like 1/4"-3/8" of epoxy around it. I probably could have talked down but I already have too many hammer projects, don't need another.

I gave another set of Felcos to a friend who does a lot of gardening. These seem tough.

Here is other side of WS gage.

Saw these while driving by a yard sale and did a daring U-turn to grab them. Not super old, early 90s, but I saw them and had to have them

Not a bad day for a dreary cold day, (skirting rain...) and a 3 day holiday weekend to boot!

Big score was the second stop Almost 90 tools (quick count) and many top brands! $15 all!

For the sockets The Big stuff in the back ia mostly Proto, a couple of Williams, Some Plvmb, samller Proto, Snap-On (9) a mix of Pennens, Fleet, and Challenger (At lest two of the Penenns are also marked Challenger... 14 all told), that are all clearly the same other than stampings; Craftsman (7), Herbrand Armstrong, Penncraft, New Brittian... The Ratceht is P&C, the bar is Blackhawk

Damn, Outlaw, I was feeling pretty good about my day 'til I saw your haul!!

Just meandered a bit, kind of surprised at how many sales were going on over Memorial Day. I found these 17 3/8 drive Craftsman sockets in their boxes - $8 for all, and all but two are =V=. The deeps -3/8-7/8- are 6-point and the standards - 3/8-13/16- are 12-point.

Another stop yielded the Cordwheel with a 100' extension cord for $6.

Ha, fun! Haven't seen 'wet floor' signs like that before, but I did see another fun design of them a couple years ago... in the lobby of one of the nicest hotels in my area, of all places... banana peels!

wet-floor-signs-1101-64_1000.jpg

Apparently they are proven to be much more noticeable than regular boring 'wet floor' signs.

This item & 3 more similar goobers were in the free box at one of today's yard sale.
Is it a tool, or is it a scrap metal?
Supposedly was from a welder's shop.

I believe those are Go Gauges. Insert into a hole drilled during fabrication - if it fits, the hole is big enough. If not, it's not. Most that I've seen are Go /No Go - double ended. To pass the small end has to fit into the hole, and the big end not.

Todays haul for $25, the puller is a unknown manufacturer. If anyone is interested the booklet that came with the tap and die set is very interesting and I can scan it.20180526_183812.jpg20180526_183837.jpg20180526_193812.jpg20180526_193850.jpg

It's been a few weeks since I've had the time to make it out to the flea market. I guess I was just trying to make up for lost time.
Kennedy stack, a pair of Safe-T-Stack drawers, vintage SnapOn creeper, 1945 dated military fuel can and spout, Large (X) Duro DBE, Thorsen screwdriver, Wizard soldering gun, Tru-Test ratchet, and a couple of sockets.

So what sort of maroon puts a house plug on lamp with a low voltage bulb? It became a flash bulb... Oh well, I'll cut the plug off, put on a lighter plug, and replace the bulb with an LED bulb...

Toyota did, they used those lights in trucks during the 1980s.

I wonder if that Sears Tap & Die set and booklet fits my Sears display cabinet. It would slide into the empty space. Looks like the same era graphics.

Unaiu: Nice score! I see jerry cans just about every week. Just turned this 52 Bennett over today. But I've only found two donkey dicks in the last seven years and one of them was post-war.

I hit the nearby estate sale solo--SWMBO looked through the 264 pictures of beer signs and tools and said "No thanks!" I arrived an hour ahead of start and made #13 on the list. Fat lotta good the list did, as at opening the guy running the sale let in the first 20 standing by the door. Fortunately, I made the first wave.

The place was packed. I grabbed the two things in the basement I saw in the pics, and then made the loop going through the tool boxes. One of our area's more aggressive pickers/scrappers was there, too, and it seemed like every time I turned around, I was tripping over him. I even had to wait for his bobbing *** to clear a big roller chest as he fished around in a wooden chest of locks and other brass. The things we endure to get the deals...sigh.

I transitioned from the basement to the garage and added to my bag. I grabbed a Milwaukee electric chainsaw for Bobcat753 and then checked out. The guy running the sale is normally one of those pull-out-and-price-every-tool kinda guys, but with a herd of folks behind me waiting to check out, he priced the two big items and then poked around my bag of tools. I threw out $200 and accepted his counter of $225.

Pictures below.

BB - Saw that sale listed, but got turned off by the pre-sale bid/offer system the guy uses.
Long drive for me to go out there, just to find out that something was pre-sold the day before.
The pictures were very tempting though. Lots and lots of stuff to dig through.
[wistful sigh]

Yeah, as I sit in my garage cataloging all this junk, I'm remembering why i "retired".

Ive never seen one of those Milwaukee electric chainsaws. Pretty cool item
I would have walked right by it if not for BC asking me to snag it for him. It seems every bit as robust as a gas saw.

Oh, for sure, it was one of those sales you like where digging is the order of the day. I hit the easy stuff--I'm sure there was more. As for pre-sale bids, it seemed there weren't many, and nothing I cared about.

I had another great Craftsman day! Estate sale on Friday, mix of old and new stuff, I went for the old stuff. I spent $163, not cheap but I am happy!

Pic 1: Some of my favorite finds, Craftsman Crown logo handsaws in nice shape and some garden shears as well.

Pic 2: This Craftsman Crown logo miter box and matching Crown logo saw were must have's!

Pic 3: More Craftsman goodness! The knife with holster was made in Germany.

Pic 4: And more Craftsman goodness!

Pic 5: And more! The metric wrenches are all early =V= without part numbers, hard to find in the wild!

Pic 6: Yes, more Craftsman especially my favorite, Crown logo stuff!

Pic 7: The plastic power tool boxes were actually empty and in the trash so they were free! The tool tray is actually marked Craftsman on each end as well.

Yep I am still behind. This is two weeks ago.

Big shed sale, not much for me but picked up a few things. Spent around $18.

Pic 1: Delco battery display stand, bought it for $10, sold it for $50 two days later. This is from around 1967.

Pic 2 and 3: Cowboy USA made hats, 75 cents each! White panama hat is a Stetson, brown wool hat is a NRA model made by Resistol.

Pic 4: Coca Cola crates, Coleman lantern Avon cologne bottle, Craftsman bit driver and Speed Lock kit, Diamond, Channelock and Petersen Visegrip pliers and a working Ray-O-Vac "bullet" flashlight

And more sales from two weeks ago.

This sale I was late to from the big shop sale, missed out on a Gerstner wood box for $6! With stuff in it too! The box was the one with the leatherette covering and was rough looking but was all there. I still found a few goodies. Spent about $35.

Pic 1: Herters reloading press with accessories, Predator call, Buck Brothers multi-tool USA made knife, MAC DBE wrench, small hammer, file handle, Stanley tape measure and Diamond pliers.

Pic 2: You know I had to dig up some Craftsman! Metric combo wench set is -VV- and -V/\- wrenches, Sears paint stirrers, socket, slightly earlier Craftsman adjustable wrenches WITHOUT metric markings, C-clamp, Crown logo ignition wrench set, power bit set and some Sears eyelets for my original sears hardware collection.

Went to one other sale, not much for tools but picked up an engine stand for my buddy, a stainless steel table and a working battery charger. Spent about $35

No, I'm not done yet LOL. This sale was about 2 months ago, I put one box in one room and another in a different room and didn't get to them until a few days ago. Think I spent about $28.

Pic 1: Top left is Snap On stuff, that long handle 3/8 ratchet is an unbranded WWII "G" date code A-56444 that Snap Mom identified as Snap On. It's likely for an unidentified aircraft tool kit. Going down is S-K, Proto, Plomb, Planet Jr cultivator wrench, Indestro sockets, Husky wrench, Craftsman sockets and Reed Prince screwdriver and a Barcalo Buffalo wrench.

Pic 2: From top left going down, Starrett dial indicator, Thorsen socket, Utica pliers, Peterson Vise Grips, Williams and Wright, some Kobalt and other odds and ends. There was more stuff from this sale but it seems to have found a new home already LOL.

Which wrench is that with the square ends and all those little cutouts along the handle? I'd like to see a closeup of that if you don't mind. Are those letters, that spell something if flipped/rotated the right way? I can't tell.

That's the Planet Jr. and that is what the cutout letters say, "Planet Jr."

A friend of mine picked this up at a sale based purely on looks and we are both wondering what it is. Does anybody know?

Update - wow! the internet is fast... apparently it is a vintage carpet stretcher!
