A house down the road had a "free" sign next to a bunch of stuff on the curb. Found this rusty but useable Craftsman hand scythe. Should clean up nicely, and can't beat the price!

Outlawmws. The "odd clamp-on Hinges" are for screen printing. Screw them to a table next to each other and clamp a screen in the clamps and you are ready to print.

I have never heard of there being a a JH Williams 1/2" flex S-54? or a 3/8" long handle B-53? I have some catalogs and they don't show any of those. I have also thought it strange that they didn't have those.

Wonder the same myself. I bet they are out there somewhere, made as a special order item.

3bay: I wish I had the wine instead of the crate! ($818.50 per bottle!) :shocking:

Wow. :wtf: Maybe the box is worth something.

Lugz, I keep forgetting to post this from the flea a couple weeks back.. Is this anything of interest?

2 items from my local yard sale tool guy. A pair of Wiss sheet metal crimping pliers and a
"hacked" Pony Clamp. Gives me ideas for a bench dog or a third hand for the welding table. Is there a Pony Clamp hack thread anywhere?

Great idea. I wonder if you could make a folding table/shade/cutting board thingie.

I was thinking along those lines, Only how the screen frame has me thinking to mount the hinges and use the clamps to attach whatever I'm using it for. I might even have more than one thing to use with them!

Not sure but if there isn't one, that would be a good one to start. A few weeks ago I picked up a set of pony/pipe clamp saddles NIB. Screw those down and lay the pipe in the saddle so the camps are more stable...

I do like the pipe flange on that smaller clamp setup!

Another $5 for three 2-1/2" Phoenix clamps,...) some hex sockets, (GM. CO? :dunno: )
GM MFG co Is one of the pioneers of building cheap tools, then outsourcing them to Japan.

If you want to have 4 of those clamps, I'm pretty sure mine is a 2-1/2, and I'd trade for any other random decent clamp.

Never even knew vise grip made a multi tool. Looks like it was never used much. two blades and and mltibit screwdriver.
I didn't know they had leather holsters either.

3bay: I wish I had the wine instead of the crate! ($818.50 per bottle!) :shocking:
that crate might be worth a good deal to a fellow who had hoarded a dozen bottles....

I didn't buy any tools today, so to console myself, I spent a dollar on this, and a 'Monster Princess' book I already gave to a deserving little girl. I think it might halp me to console myslef...

Slew, if that book includes a recipe for a French 75, please either post it or send me a PM. I'd say that book was well worth your $1!

For anyone interested, a French 75 drink was named after the 75mm, "rapid firing" cannon of World War 1 fame.

I'm not a big wearables collector, 3eeb, so I don't know exactly what it is, but it looks like a utility pouch of some sort. WWII for sure with the classic Lift-the-Dot fasteners. It's kind of neat and looks to be in great condition. I like it. If you're not going to keep it or flip it, please put it aside for me for future trades, purchases, Christmas gifts, etc :)

3bay had the same thought and you were both way ahead of me. I'm guessing that Mr. Allan Ohlsson of the Swedish Embassy in Washington, D.C. is long gone and the original wine consumed in one or another diplomatic soirees!

That will be a wonderful book to have out when you have a few friends over for drinks. Wonderful find.

I'm still catching up from yesterday when I was busy cleaning my haul....

The grinder has "No. 95 E" on it. Anyone know who made it and when?
I don't, but that's an interesting wingnut on the clamp screw. I have a few hand grinders and it doesn't match any of them.

At same sale, picked up a Peck, Stow & Wilcox Co. of Plantsville Conn hand crank metal bead roller that attaches to it's own metal clamp.

Patent Dates of Nov 20, 1888 and Aug 26, 1890.

Mike

Scored a few things so far this weekend! Got the original handle proto mfd USA body hammer for a little less than $20! Handle has dark green paint and the head is tight with no abuse marks. It will get cleaned and used with care. The craftsman lunch box tool box has some dents and straightening that needs to be done. I will try to get the paint drops off it and clean it up. The box does not have much rust but is missing its tray. It has a spot for a single tray not the cantilever trays others do. Box was $5

I tried searching around but couldn't see much, I've seen it around for a few years but never found who it was attributed to.

Love that Craftsman box!

Picked up a few things - $15 for an old 'OK' Greenfield Tap & Die company set - Mrs. Duddly said she loves the paper tag inside... I'll keep her! Also a free set of stamped indestro pliers and a little Lakeside brace from one of my friends at the flea market.

Also, got this box a few weeks ago thrown to hold a purchase.. interesting markings - "replacement parts for antipersonnel practice mine" - cool box - can one of you military collectors tell me anything about it?

Found these Duro Chrome offset flare nut wrenches yesterday. 3/4"- 1" and 1"- 1-3/16". 1-3/16" seems a funny size for a flare nut wrench:headscrat. Will work on 30mm though:thumbup:

Picked up something off Craigslist today. A new to me Seneca Falls Lathe! Everything works great and came with all the tooling shown. The only part missing is the idler gear/mounting shaft for the power feed, but I probably won't use that. It only cost me $150 for everything.

Great score Bobcat! is that a 10 or 12 inch?

On the power feed; you want to sort that out so you can thread. You will use it more than you think!

Bobcat, great score on the lathe. Just know it is bad form to leave the chuck key in the chuck like that. In the middle pic in the second row, drawer with the tool holders, you may have a shaper toolholder, buried in the bottom with a nut above the cutter bit. If it is a shaper tool holder, you can probably recoup a good portion of the $150, depending on size.

Thanks! Not quite sure on the size, I do plan to find the missing power feed piece, hopefully I can make one or one turns up on Ebay.

Thanks! I had the chuck key still in because I was oiling the chuck. Also the motor wasn't attached yet.

You ****! nice lathe! and looks like you have everything to hit the ground running.
Thanks!

BC, Measure from the center of the chuck to the nearest bed, obstruction and double that. that is the largest diameter you can swing in the lathe, and that is its size...

Today's $12 haul. The Weller soldering gun is identical to one my dad's had for 50+ years with a damaged housing. I've cleaned this one up and given it to him.

good size for a starter lathe!

Slow here today without going to repeats. A Church Rummage sale and a Free cycle PU:

The toolbox I went to look at was gone, so leavings: A tambor box for my desk or inside workbench, SWMBO picked up the candle holders and the Jingle bells, I got the tape tin (Similar but different than the one I for a couple of weeks ago) and the confetti was inside the tin (as I found out the hard way after opening it... SWMBO laughed)

attachment.php

And I also got this Water fire extinguisher. The large mouth version so good for a water can AND fire extinguisher for camping. this one makes three large mouth. Needs cleanup but SOS works wonders on these SS cans... One more and that ten gallons of water under pressure, adn 5 more oin the shower/washup can. Plenty!!

attachment.php

$5 for everything from the rummage sale ($2 of that was the extinguisher! :bounce:

From freecycle a gear puller; No name but is well made! and the bird chaser I'l try out on crows that are annoying us in out trees lately...

I helped an older widow lady friend do another garage sale and found a few more things. Even though I have picked this place to death (and done much of the yard cleanup for her) there are always a few more surprises. Spent $30 and I named the price, trying to be fair to her and me as well.

Pic 1: Best finds of the day were the 16 Snap On air hammer bits. A few need to be cleaned up to verify yet but so far all have been Snap On. Also found the Snap On flex shaft 1/4" driver. The bits near the driver are old carburetor tuning pieces. To the right of that is a bunch of punches, 10 of which are Mayhew split roll pin drivers with the little ball on them. In the upper left are large USA made drill bits bigger than 1/2", some smaller drill bits, adjustable reamer, more bits including one for the magnetic drill press I got from her, and a few other odds and ends.

Pic 2: More drill bits, a couple of new Detroit Diesel fuel filter mounts and a few other odds and ends.

Pic 3: 2 Halon small fire extinguishers and 1 large dry Chemical, al read good on the gauge.

Pic 4 and 5: From someone else selling there, a Snap On 1 1/16 combo wrench that was covered in paint, I spent a bit of time getting some of it of already. True Temper roofing hatchet and Petersen Chain Vise Grips, $9 total.

I brang a few items and sold some so it was good day for me too.

Thanks,

Pm sent.

Outlaw - the puller should be Indestro, nice freebie.

Lugz- thanks on the pouch. Can’t find a match online. It has “Lift The Dot” snaps. No other marking other than a number and price on the back that looks like it came from a thrift store. If you can use it that’s cool, otherwise I was contemplating making it a bicycle bag.
