Part of my haul from the weekend. Kind of sad, went to sale for an older guy clearing out his shop. He had built a house with an inlaw apartment, sold the house to his daughter with him taking the inlaw. She got transferred, called him up, "you gotta get out of the house, we're putting it on the market".

Continuing to build my woodworking collection, picked up this JET jointer at an estate auction this past weekend.

Got it for $45 + 10% auction fee made it under $50! There were a bunch of people there running up the prices for some of the dewalt and craftsman stuff, but there wasnt much attention on this one! It has one rusty spot in the bottom corner of the stand, but it runs great... going to clean it up and order some new knives for it.

That's almost stealing RFT! Great pick up!

Bought a work bench/table with drawers and a Morgan Chicago 145 vise all for $50 off Craigslist. First pic. with vise still mounted is from the Craigslist ad. The vise has Wilton copper jaw covers on it.

I picked these Klein D208-8N Needle Nose Pliers for 50 cents at a Yard sale Sunday. I got them for the junk drawer to do household repairs. I had no idea they were so pricey.

Of course it's worth it. I just wondered how big it was, the pics on the left make it look smaller. I'm still waiting to find a vise at a sale, that's something I really need. Would swoon if I could find one of those massive round-style Wiltons(?).

And I need a well pump. Was it for sale? $?

Yeah, the place was booming with tools this time. There was so much out there in general, the antiques and collectibles will make your head spin. I was junk drunk within minutes of arrival. A friend who had never been there came along to see a girl he knows who sells, and therefore had to watch me dig through box after rusty box. I kept it short, maybe 4 hours. He loved it, he’s a people watcher.

I'm kind of confused by that topmost breaker bar. Normally a breaker is extra long or at least a single diameter to make it easier for a cheater pipe. That one appears to be short and the dual diameter would make a cheater difficult. What's the deal?

A short breaker bar is a godsend when you need to use a socket but there is not enough clearance for a ratchet. Just used a 3/8 breaker a week ago to take the piston rod nuts off a frozen Ford 460, nothing else worked.

Got these barn door hangers,trollies,brackets, (I don't know what their official name is) as well this past weekend. I managed to dicifer "Coburn, Holyoke Mass" off the tag on one of them. Thought they were pretty cool, maybe I'll find a use for them on the farm some day.

Drove an hour for a tool sale, not many pics but it looked promising. Got there early and I was #3. When the estate sale people arrived the first two guys said these gals are way over priced and they left. I hung around and picked up these two Snap-on body hammers for a reasonable price but they were kinda high on the rest. Everyone that showed up were bad-mouthing the sales company. For a tool sale I expect a lot of action but there was just a handfull of people there!

Not much action today! I picked up 2 more Craftsman gray with red drawers bottom cabinets. Both are 1972, one is 5 drawers and storage compartment, the other is the 9 drawer lower (5 full width drawers and 4 half width drawers). Pics tomorrow, it started raining so I hit all the antique stores and a few bars too!

I have a Facom J151 from a sale a few years back and I compared it to the newer J151A......


They share the same tootsie roll handle, but look how much smaller the J151A's head is.....make a world of difference in the balance and feel.....the action is smoother also, although I didn't count the teeth....


Older model Bonney T-704 (from the '40's -'50's???).....


Nice ('70's?) K-Mart Auto #263 ratchet - made in Japan....well made and the internals look a lot like S-K's ? (anyone know who made these?).....


1/2" nut driver looks like a Snap-On but has no markings....I believe it may be a Par-X ....they shared the same style handles as Snap-On ?....

Snap-On and S-K 1/4" drive Metric sockets on a Craftsman socket rail....


The 7mm and the 10mm are S-K....

I hit an estate sale that was pretty far out in the country, it looked good from the pics, but was with a company I don't really like a whole lot (they tend to bag up things and you have to buy the whole bad whether you want everything or not) and the prices on the first day are usually pretty high. They also tend to clean up everything first and sort it out, so you cant really roach around for treasures. But this time was different, with outbuildings that weren't really touched, and good prices. So, for $29 here is what I found:

Millers Falls utility knife, Craftsman =V= swivels and DBE, Craftsman BE socket and Plomb swivel (not WF), unknown Tommybar, carbide scriber, Stanley sliding bevel (pat. 1892) Williams S52 and S53, Starrett and Craftsman micrometers, Craftsman 3/8 flex and a cool old brass fishing pole holder.

Only found one decent sale today. It was pretty picked over, but I managed a Craftsman circle h 1/4" breaker, an SK 1/4" breaker, SK and Craftsman sockets, and a small screwdriver. Plus the best find, a big stack of 1965 and 1966 four-wheeler magazines. Looks like lots of early bronco, scout, and jeep info. Lady asked for 1 dollar. I gave 3.

Outlaw, I know you're really into the Coleman stuff. Is there much of a market for the Camp Stove and Lantern generators? I guess a quick search of that auction site will answer that for me.

Large Nicholson coarse file with a Crowntop interchangeable handle, CM drivers.


Mac swivel plug sockets, Mac 3/8 wobble extension, CM flex sockets including two metrics, 1/2" extension, stud remover, extensions/adaptors, Wiss scissors, Channel Lock 460, CM distributor wrench, Klein Allen key set and a 1/4" CM =v= speeder.


Not pictured are a **** load of CM USA sockets. Probably spent about $60 total.

Also picked up a short set of CM Professional SK made metric combos from eBay.

Forgot to post the finds from an estate sale last week. Spent $51 the first day and picked up a nice mix of Hinsdale, half inch Milwaukee Tool & Forge speed wrench and breaker bar. Ford, Bog, Bluepoint, Fairmont, Vlchek and some US wrenches, German hacksaw, Starrett calipers, 3M sanding block, couple of coping saws, chisels, punches, tape measure, scrapers, pliers, very small vise, and a 1964 Craftsman Handy Chart of Common Fasteners.
