I do this at my Lowes. Who wants to run back and forth to the store for a few misc. items. I'm not a contractor but I spend lots of money there. Stupid policy on HD's part. Hopefullythe guy calls corprate to straighten that out.
I do the same at Lowes. They do (or did have) lockout on returns but I never found the conditions. Since lowes went to their mylowes card and automated receipts, I haven't been stopped from returns (unless the initial purchase didn't get logged to my account. Then, without a receipt, they often times don't accept the return.)

I happened to be behind a customer trying a return at Lowes a few months ago. It was a contractor, he apparently was in the habit of buying extra plumbing fittings and returning the ones he did not use. In spite of being a frequent and high dollar purchase customer, they refused to allow more returns.

That's why it pays to be on a first-name basis with the employees...

I often do that too when working on a project... I'll buy extra bits that I'm not sure I'll need and return what I don't use later... Better than being knee deep in whatever and having to drop everything to go to the store for one stupid little part...

Definitely helps to be polite at customer service. In spite of trying buy extra I still seem to always end up having to make a few, or more, trips per project. I save the returns until the end then take them all in with the stack of receipts. I tell them all the purchases were made on the same credit card and they nearly always do the return by having me swipe the card instead of using the receipts. Seems to be easier for them that way.

Still not a good deal.. I would rather get the m18 kit with 9ah battery.. Or the Dewalt flexvolt kit..
The whole 2--18v battery seems overkill and kills Yur battery cost later.

They work great for cutting down 8/4-10/4 hardwood. I have 2. Worst case I’ll sell it and make a hundo

Order online and it’s not a problem. They send return labels with most all packages

some simple rules:
never use a gc/sc if you think you will return anything on the transaction. gc/sc returns always trigger an id swipe.

if they ever ask for id dont give it to them unless you are fully aware that you are being targeted or have triggered the system. it is possible to get the system generated id-swipe bypassed but dont bother. it will require mgmt or an employee who will just enter junk data. many of the ones willing to help cannot even figure out how to enter data manually instead of swiping id. your odds are extremely low on a bypass. dont bother.

dont hook your payment cards to a pro account. your returns are being tracked that way too.

figure about 15-20mins at best on full speed.... I don;t know why blowers, grinders, buffers and vacumm don;t last long on cordless battery.

Are we no longer allowed to use the contractor computers to look up clearance items? I've used them for a few years now with no issue until this evening. I figured I'm probably in the wrong. But these are the computers facing customers over on the pro side. No-one has ever said anything else to me until tonight about using them. I've been using this exact store using the exact same computers for at least 3 years now and it wasn't an issue until tonight.

If that isn't how everyone else is finding these deals then how do you?

It happens like that sometimes. New employees. New management. Another user showed his *** and screwed it up.......

Can't submit online orders for 11%. But now that I say that, I actually chose to get a receipt for an in-store pickup and looked like what you would get at the register but on 8.5x11 paper. Does sure you won't get 11% for online ship to home

yeah sorry, i only do in store pick up for HD. just make sure they give you a regular receipt with their ID# on it--occasionally they get lazy and just try to get me out the door with the pick up confirmation sheet.

Do they have any deals going on full sized toolboxes at the moment?

use coupon code HUSKYTOOLCHEST and it should be worth $100 off each top/bottom. a week or two ago it was $150 off per, but now you can get the 11% rebate back this week and, if using RMN like stated above, an extra 7% cashback

Thanks for posting this. HD near me had one, with military discount came to ~$150. Good price for rapid dual charger and 5.0 batteries, not to mention a nice blade-left saw. Saw is lighter than I expected, but solid.

I've been watching it too.

I'm showing that it's already dropped $100. And everything I've read searching for the lowest price history says it drops to $598 ($300 off) for Memorial Day and Black Friday.

I'm sure the memorial day fliers will be out next week...

You can usually search to see last year's fliers to compare prices...

that husky was $150 off per box a week or two ago. im not sure if HD has a similar price protection policy like lowes does (i think they do), but if so id buy it now and see if it drops next week. you can submit your receipt ID for an 11% rebate, good through saturday, and if you use RetailMeNot then they currently have 7% cash back by clicking through them. thats $85 back in HD rebate gc and $54 back cash, plus any price protection later. id say neither offer will be there in a week

edit: as of 11pm 5/16 the cashback offer from RMN is 15%

Is the 11% rebate on a single item or the whole purchase?

I believe they do as well from when I talked to rep on phone. She mentioned I'm eligible for a price match as long as I was in return window and I said even with the HD card 1 year for returns she said yes. I used it for Schlage Connect door handles but it was less than 60 days apart.

But I did pickup the Husky boxes few weeks ago paid $660 after tax and 10% HD credit card offer.

It would be better to have some help you unload I did it myself was not fun. Hopefully have time next weekend to unbox and setup.

Not clearance, but the Milwaukee M12 brushed drill/impact combo kit is on sale for $99. Thinking about picking one up on my way home from work.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Drill-Driver-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-w-2-1-5Ah-Batteries-Charger-Tool-Bag-2494-22/203111686

M12 fuel dropped to $199 and you get one of 3 items, one being the ratchet they sell for $120. That makes the fuel set $200 * (200/320) = $ 125 on your receipt for the Fuel set. Keep or return the ratchet, up to you. $80 is a fair price for it right now (went for a little less priorbto the markup to $119). You can also get a free 6ah battery, but doesn't make the fuel set as cheap, if you intend to return the 2nd item. $25 is worth the upgrade in batteries alone. I refuse to use a 1.5ah in anything

Ugh, why did you tell me that? I didn't even want to spend the $100 today....

My 18V platform is Makita and I'm plenty happy with it. The real reason I'm interested in the M12 platform is the PVC shear and the ProPEX expander. Otherwise I wouldn't bother with 12V tools. The small drill and impact could be nifty though.

I think I might have to mosey on over to the Milwaukee addiction thread for advice.

Anyone know if I can combine the free tool deal with a coupon when buying in-store? I've got the 10% off if you use the home depot credit card coupon. Is there a trick to getting it to work? I think I tried a few years ago to use a coupon on a free tool deal and it didn't work.

you have to ask if they will just take 10% off one item, being the fuel kit. any coupons that affect the whole transaction usually void these deals. If I bring a relative in with their military discount, we ask for it off of just one item, and they usually don't mind (as long as it's <$50 discount, otherwise it will need a mgr approval).

and take a picture of the coupon. They make take it, but not technically use it, allowing you to use it on a later purchase.

Thanks, but I don't think that will work for me in this case. The coupon requires a $299 purchase, plus I want to use it for a bunch of other stuff at the same time.

You can use multiple coupons per transaction, but only one item coupon per item and only one transaction level per transaction. Buy this, get that might be an item level so it might combine with the 10% off. You can’t tell from the coupon numbers, so you will need to ask the cashier to try it.
