2019 Home Depot Clearance Thread

Home Depot in Fargo ND had the 48" "Toggled" brand T8 tubes non ballast (110V line voltage) LED on clearance. Regular price $20.08 for a two pack clearance at $3.10. Add on my military discount of $0.31 a bulb out the door at $2.79 a bulb. Then there is the 11% Menards match for another $0.34 back on the gift card makes it $2.45 each. Bought the 28 they had in the clearance area.

Retrofitted the first fixture took 45 minutes as I had to go find various tools to remove the old tube holders. Will take around 15 - 30 minutes for the rest.

The 11% is direct “competition” with Menards. If you are not close to a memards your local stores don’t participate.

Just a personal preference.. Ridgid just felt more secure and easier to move around without the feeling of if the saw was going to drop off the stand. I think those Bosch stand came out before the Bosch glide mitersaw(love this big saw)??

6500k is the color temperature, not how much light it puts out. Standard incandescent is 2700k, halogen is 3000-3200k, most offices, stores, etc will be in the 4100k range. 6500k is going to be pretty blue, like a lot of HID headlights, and cheap led flashlights.

The Toggled onsale are:

either 2100 or 1700 Lumens

These do NOT use the ballast and require a few (15 minutes) to remove the old tube holders and ballasts, but you need to know what you are doing in the electrical field...or ZAP!!!)

They are 6500, 5000 or 4000k (6500k is "normal" daylight which many people feel are "too" blue, but actually is what you have outdoors when the sun is shining)

Wattage seems to hover in the 16 watt area...

Most are Dimmable (a big bonus for moi)

Philips claims their "Instantfit" lamps work with more ballasts than any other brand. I have a mix of older and newer fixtures and the Instantfit tubes have worked with all the ballasts.

I wasn't saying they wouldn't work the ballast, but rather the T12 diameter is 1.5" and I know that some T8's I put in, the fixture wouldn't have room for a larger size bulb.

I see, misunderstood your point. I'm assuming T12 fixtures could use either T8 or T12, but as you say T12 tubes may not fit in a T8 fixture. Is that correct?


FWIW, there seem to be a lot of variants in part number, my local HDs had maybe five different part numbers for was appears to be the same thing - same color temp, etc. It appeared one difference was whether the lamps were intended to be sold individually or in a box, but even the boxed ones were packaged and labeled individually. I found a lot of Philips LEDs in both T8 and T12, and clearance is rare in my area, so hopefully most people will be able to find something in the size they need.

So I ended up getting one of the old Milwaukee display units of the string trimmer. Got it home and the battery is dead when placed on charger flashing red and green I know how to jump it and try and fix the problem but was wondering if you guys have experienced it before with anything from home Depot. wondering if I take it back to store if they would exchange it for the new model give me another battery or if I try and go through Milwaukees warranty if maybe they'll send another battery.

I don't believe they'll upgrade you to the new unit, but feel there's a decent chance they'll switch out the batteries for you. It's pretty much store dependent.

So I had almost the exact same scenario. My trimmer was missing the string head though. I brought it back in to inquire and he pulled a brand new quick lok model kit off the shelf and gave it to me. It was super cool. So I got two batteries, two chargers and a quick lok trimmer for ~$150

Yeah. At $30, it just seems like a no-brainer for anybody that’s already into the one+ system. I got lucky, as it dropped at some point this week, and I hadn’t checked on it. With it sitting right above the compressors, where it’s supposed to be, I was shocked it was still there. The only other one they have is a beat up display model, and no one else it the area has them on clearance.

I've done exactly this with a 2653 impact driver floor model. The date code on the battery might put you out of warranty BUT your receipt trumps all.

So send it in via e-service at milwaukeetool.com, check the box that you are including proof of purchase (POP) and in my case I included a note explaining why the price was so ridiculously low on my receipt (unk if anyone read it once it got there). I received a new battery via FedEx. End of story.

Went to home depot looking for this. No luck. However I did find a Husky compact impact gun for $34 dollars. I also found some impact butterfly wrenches for $11. I have no idea what a butterfly impact wrench is though. I own one now though.

So send it in via e-service at milwaukeetool.com, check the box that you are including proof of purchase (POP) and in my case I included a note explaining why the price was so ridiculously low on my receipt (unk if anyone read it once it got there). I received a new battery via FedEx. End of story.
