Holy *&$#, tomwil I will definitely give that a try. Amazing idea! If this works it could be huge. But I'm thinking it also might cause bigger issue...so I'll play it by ear. Dont get me wrong I really need this sink to help finish my moms kitchen but if this will cause them to really start messing with me & or ban me... then I'm not going to push it.

Fourjeepin....I tried that once with similar item... meaning a big item... and quickly they came out from every isle and gave me the 3rd degree about using "their" employee ladder. So I already have 1 warning on that idea.

Zippercat, you also have great idea I might try it just to break the ice & get laugh. I know some of the guys in security anyhow.

Will keep you guys posted if barcode idea works

Be Very Careful with the using a Brickseek barcode idea. I remember there being a thread from a few years back about someone who tried to use a makeshift barcode or printed copy of one... long story short they got into some trouble with the store and police about because it wasn't an actual store product that they were scanning ( aka no physical item)

IMO experiences you might be better off asking to buy the items at the lowest last known clearance price or a heavily discounted price. Just my 2 cents. Take it as you wish.

If you think pre-paying could work, you can print off the barcode of the item from BrickSeek, and scan that barcode at the self checkout. If it rings up a penny, be quick on completing the transaction.

Lol. Prepaying for your penny item.

I’m sure they will get that right down for you.... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Icu.... what am I missing? I don't understand why using a barcode from the actual item it belongs to, is a wrong thing to do. I'm not using a different barcode from another item so can someone please explain how this would be a bad thing.

This. You're not entitled to squat. Speak to manager and get them to sell it at last clearance price. It's either that or find a young, clueless employee and have them get the items down for you and hope they don't scan them.

I would not do that. Stores look for people using fake barcodes and this would be a red flag that might get you in real trouble. You might be mistaken for someone who is doing real retail theft with fake barcodes.

Go on a Friday night an hour before close. Climb the ladders, ride on a lumber cart, take all the paint stir sticks, spray paint the floor, nobody will give two craps what you do.

The old ones act like the coupon comes out of their paycheck
Art of deal. Avoid all old casheir, nothing but problems my experience. They question everything and make a big scene. Best is young girl who is easy and more into friendly chit chat then acting surprised at clr price and calling managers like the older cashiers.
I actually had a middle age 45-60 fat grouchy loud mouth casheir lady try to deny me item when she scans barcode because its too cheap.. Even when manager said sorry to me for holding me up.. The cashier still acted like I was stealing from store for paying clearance price.

Another one , avoid older retired tool guy, nothing but problems.. Had one idiot tell me I can't buy clearance item and question me how I know they are clearance..hey pops, ever hear of forum dealsites or computers, smartphones Then they act like I am stealing from store, treat me like a criminal rather then customer. Worst was he denied me from buying clearance item..it was at 03 clr price stage. Lol. Last straw, I just called the manager over to report the old fart. Manager tells old guy, customer are allowed to buy whatever clearance items he wants. Old guy tells mangers, but we're losing money on this item if we sell it to him at that price, its below our cost.. Lol

First want to thank everyone for their advice. I didn't take the chance of buying the sink thru self-checkout cause I didn't want them to think I'm using fake barcode. This store is very... very sensitive and didn't want to push it.

So I was "allowed " to buy the one sink but they would not allow me to buy any of the other sinks that were on same pallet. At this point I was already frustrated & just wanted get home.

I also found some other kinda good deals,

The Altura fan pic says $200 but when I checked on their pc it said $50...so might be worth checking.

And the Lufkin correct price is on the receipt

Bigtiger.... because I goto this HD allot I guess I either am ruining an employee side hustle or they just simply don't like me cause everytime I go... they make me feel exactly as you. They made me feel like I was stealing, I had employees that I know from going often, that now will not talk to me or keep it very very simple.

I know for fact I'm NOT only HD deal chaser, so I don't know why they are acting this way towards me. What makes it worse is I also buy stuff at regular price. Not that it should matter... but I don't only go for penny deals. Last week while looking for penny deals, I also paid for a fridge at regular HD price. Again it shouldn't matter if I'm only penny shopping cause their policy allows the sale of .01 deals . But I actually spent about $1400 for that fridge.

I had one cashier try and tell me I can't buy this landscape LED I got today cause it was recalled...I couldn't hold back my laugh. I was very calm and said we both know its just a penny item, that was forgotten about. And ive been watching this item for awhile. With that, she didn't say anything except "thank you, have nice day"

Nikon... the link tomwil posted is showing wrong sink, not sure why. The actual sink was : 1001754620

Got some other deals today... keep eye out people, I'm noticing allot items going for clearance .

Because the company is literally setting the price using what they scan. By switching the barcode you are committing retail fraud. They can switch the UPC/price/etc to whatever they want - you don't have the right to change it.

No one is saying switch the barcode. He even explicitly stated that. The idea is to use the actual barcode on a piece of paper.

Which is the same as when Home Depot has "tear this to purchase item held in back" or "This box is empty" placeholders.

But the problem is that some people will think he's doing what you THINK he wants to do, which is use a fake/wrong barcode.

Recall - that’s a common tactic among the more seasoned cashiers. Don’t ever let them convince you it is recalled unless you see recall on their screen. If an item is recalled, it will say it is on manufacturer recall and not allow the sale.

You would think they would stop this silly penny business. If they just mark stuff down to a decent amount to begin with everything would sell through.

I've had the same problem with new young employees. Several times a new cashier has refused to sell me something that was on clearance because it was too cheap and I must have switched tags or something. They ran to get a manager to 'tell' on me. I usually use the self checkout registers now, ringing everything up then calling over a seasoned employee to change the taxable status of my purchase (I'm tax exempt on most purchases, but never use it on penny items if I find them).
I rarely find the amazing deals though, even on items that seem abundant at other locations such as screws. I think the employees at my store grab a lot of the choice items.

Ish...as one member explained... I'm NOT trying to use fake barcode. That's like printing money and not worth the risk. But I do appreciate the concern.

Turboolds...I live staten island/Brooklyn, what about you, where are you from? If you happen to live in same area, fear not...cause I DON'T clear shelves...I like to leave enough behind for next HD Penny hunter. I really just want few items for my personal garage & maybe a family/friend that's it.

Dont take offense if you are a shelve clearer...lol I don't judge. I understand there are no rules to this game we play.

Fourjeepin... when she first said it, she actually almost...I say almost convinced me. Her jedi force was not strong...she walked away cause she realized I knew what I was talking about. I spoke "their" shop talk.

Lafester...I completely agree! Ive spoken with more then few workers and they agree. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE penny deals but I truly wouldn't mind paying few bucks for item. Example say $100 item is going to go for penny & then thrown out...if they put up front store selling for $20 bucks I bet they wouldn't last 1 hour.

***on side note I could use help please getting barcode for this item***

HUSKY
41in 16 Drawer Tool Chest

I searched HD app can't find anything, searched HD online, nothing... please any help would be huge help.

You didn't try very hard. :p123

What are you using barcodes for? Having a HD employee scan it? If it doesn't show a location in the PCA I very seldom think it will show the location on a handheld...

It sometimes will on a handheld, if they use the Home Depot app "Overhead Management".

https://risnews.com/4-ways-home-depot-will-thrive-home-improvement

To this end, the company rolled out a new overhead management application. Prior to the rollout, the only way an associate could locate product in overheads was to manually look for it. This new app helps associates locate product in overheads quickly and accurately. This saves time, improving the customer experience, and provides better inventory management.

InDaRed2....I actually did try and find it but clearly Im not as skilled as a senior member. I completely understand showing off and having fun with the new guy...I can take it ;)

But maybe also as a senior member you can show the wise side of you and explain how you found it?

I need one more barcode that I cannot find...again I did try but having hard time. I dont mind doing the leg work if you could please give a few tips on how to find such a thing.

The SKU is:
ryobi 6500 Gen
1004088279

*** By the way InDaRed2 *** ...thats the WRONG (lol) barcode. When I scan it, it reads for a 61 husky....The sku I posted is for a 41 inch 16 draw Husky. BUT...thanks for trying I do appreciate the help.

Any help would be great, thanks guys!

Use the Home Depot Internet #300117511 with BrickSeek to generate your barcode.

The only other time I've seen camping gear at Home Depot is when I was in Louisiana for hurricane relief.

HDs can highly vary their selection between stores. 4 in one town. One doesn't carry anything chainsaw related, one has no riding lawn mowers, other carries uber large wheeled dirt bikes (?). Then I went to a semi middle of no-where HD and they had 4-wheeled utility vehicles.

All indoor/outdoor rugs that were part of the summer special set are a penny. At least one of them is kind of nice, one is red and okay, one is brown and awful.

The brown one UPC is 017411042192

Walked into my local HD this morning and found a 9.0 M18 battery for $100. That’s better than the craigslist prices I’ve seen for these...
