In my experience here in SoCal you have to walk the register person through the process. If they call the manager over, forget it. They will act like you are trying to steal something. They have to hit "some" discount button, then internet match, then put in the 50%.. good luck! I did good one year but never tried again...

Agreed. ACE Hardware had the Packout organizers for $19.99 when HD was $29.99. They are supposed to match and beat by 10%. I went up to customer service and asked/showed the girl before I even wasted my time to go get the item. She said yes, she would do it. Went and got the organizers. Brought them up and lucky me the store manager walks up as she is ringing them up and asks what’s going on? She tells him and I see him look at me and the pull out his phone out to look it up himself. He then does has to approve the adjustment. I pay and leave. Get down the road and look at my receipt and they just matched the price, didn’t give me the extra 10%. Call the store and talk to the girl she put me in touch with the manager and he said well it has to be in stock to get the extra 10%. I said it is.(I had called the local ACE Hardware and verified) He said oh okay, bring it back in and we will adjust it. I asked for a name and what time he was there till and went back.

I know they have a job to do. But make you feel like a thief for using there own policies.

The 10% meet & beat is actually not policy anymore, but they never removed the option from the register computer system. So if you do get a more customer-centric store, then you should have no issue getting the ‘beat’ part, but not a guarantee. The 10% beat policy could be found on their lower price guarantee page, but is no longer there. If you are friendly, and they are friendly, it really shouldn’t be an issue.

Lol. I'm "that guy" he mentions in the video. I sent him a msg through IG & suggested he should make a video about it.

I still think it's a glitch cause for some reason it applies the $29 discount twice. You can see the discount applied note in the cart twice. It's supposed to be 23% discount like it shows for the item prices but for cart total it gives you 44% off.

I purchased them in store & they were $98. When I came across this last night I ordered another set online, gonna return with my prior receipt.

Just tried this on a couple of different browsers--it only applies the $29 discount once, for a total of $99--they must have fixed the glitch.

Yeah they fixed it yesterday some time after noon my time. I checked it yesterday morning & it was still working.

I don’t know if it was ever confirmed if so my bad, but I had no issues getting the compressor setup for $199 and taking the receipt alone to a store with the $50 price and rebuying. Helped that the store I took it to still showed 1 in the system but of course didn’t have it. LA and SD are on different pricing schedules so if you travel between them a lot there are probably a bunch of deals you could pull off like that.

M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill Driver/Impact Driver Combo Kit (2-Tool) w/(2) 1.5Ah Batteries, Charger, Tool Bag $99.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...-Batteries-Charger-Tool-Bag-2494-22/203111686

Pretty good price. I just bought one of these last month to keep in my camper for $120 and I thought that was a good price. I just picked up 3 more to give away as xmas gifts for my workers.

The benefit I have found is that the fake mapp can be used upsidedown where the blue propane you can not and has to remain upright to stay lit. That is pretty helpful in itself.

also i dont think that looking at the temps tells the whole story

try using a propane canister to light some lump charcoal and then compare it to mapp+ and it's night and day.

Seems like the Propane may last longer, maybe...

One is a gas and one is a liquid in the cylinder I guess.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I was nice the whole time through. Just proposed everything with a question, more of a inquiring. Was able to get it worked out but they weren’t thrilled. They did the meet and beat one other time for me when I bought a Paslode framing nailer. Good info to know next time.

I had been watching these at my store and were at the .06 price for what seemed like forever. They had one on the floor and one in the rafters. Price finally dropped this week and were both gone when I went in to check. :(

I'm new to this, but I just looked up that compressor on the HD site, there appear to be none in stock near me, but I can get one shipped to a store for a purchase price of $169 (no obvious sale/discount).

What gives? I'd think that if they were in clearance anywhere in the country, it's because it's an outdated model. Why would they try to charge full price online?

Thanks.

Mike,

Home depot's official website will always show the full retail price for items that are on clearance in stores (except for official special deals). I'm not sure why, but maybe to do with the logistics of having things sitting in stores instead of a national warehouse. The only way to find out if an item is in your local store and on clearance is to find the internet item number on home depots site, then search it using brickseek. Home depots page will have the "internet #" for each item up in the top left hand side. (it also has the model number and store sku number on the same line) You can type that info into brickseek and it will tell you how many are at your store, and if the item is on clearance or not. That is why this message board is so useful, since the info is not easily found by browsing home depots webpage.

Here is a link to brickseek with that cooler already entered in. You will need to change the zip code though:

I’ve always been curious. Why can’t you buy an item online full price and have it shipped to a clearance store. Return in store and re buy at clearance? Do they have completely different skus for online and in store that it would ring up full price again?

HD considers the website a separate entity. Only items that would go back to store inventory are items that are stocked & picked up in store.

I was at HD over the weekend and spotted this work bench for a decent price. 46 in. W 9-Drawer, Deep Tool Chest Mobile Workbench in Gloss Black with Hardwood Top: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-4...s-Black-with-Hardwood-Top-H46MWC9XD/303101236

Same price as their smaller 18" deep model: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-4...kbench-with-Solid-Wood-Top-7440946R/206839475

I picked up the HF equivalent of the smaller one a couple months ago ($220), but really like the work space of the larger Husky, plus the power block is nice. I may be upgrading this week.

They are on clearance for $298.

I looked at them this weekend as well. Hesitent. They are much thinner gage steel than the HF boxes. It would have been the perfect size for my 9" south bend lathe, but they are not sturdy enough and wobble/shake with the casters.

Its not clearance.. Just sale as special buy for the holidays. Nothing special, think harbod freight feels stronger to me.

Are you guys talking about the Yukon with wood top (https://www.harborfreight.com/46-in-mobile-storage-cabinet-with-wood-top-64012.html) or the US General 44"? (https://www.harborfreight.com/44-in...roller-cabinet-64133.html?_br_psugg_q=44+x+22)

I have both and the Yukon is definitely cheaper build than the US General.

I'm playing around on brickseek, with zip codes within an hour drive of me, and found a few potential stores that may have that compressor in stock. No prices are given, however.

that's a good way to get blacklisted on home deport return file and most probably be on the masterlist of most vendors who keep track of suspicious returns or fraudsters.

Well I doubt HD is going to spend money shipping something to sell at a loss to someone, like the employee I was talking to Saturday said, they'll just crush it.

I've got my eye on the portable table saw, right now it's $300 but if I can snag it under $200 I'll do it.

I was at Menards and saw a tool I just purchased at HD for $5 less (2 sets bought). I went to HD chat and they will not honor Menards pricing :shocking:

Now I have to decide if all that work is worth $10.
