Great Haul RP!

Odd the storage drawers are missing the lower left? are they modular?

The (common) 220 Coleman looks to be in stellar condition - using cases DOES help! Great work horse lanterns.

I keep buying old first aid kit boxes, and a couple have actually been put to use!

Bought home a quick release wood vise this weekend. Wasn't familiar with the brand but grabbed it anyway.
It is a Richard Wilcox 7" with unique gravity quick release.
If interested:

Nice piece! Brian

JimNoGarage: You're out a whopping $10 for both of those cabinets? You ****!

Reverse Polarity: I'm no collector, but love Coleman lanterns. Nice haul, You **** too! BTW, what size is that Craftsman breaker bar (drive and length)?

These impact sockets were in that same haul from this morning.
The 3/8” set had never been opened.
The 1/2” set in the tray is Craftsman.

Nice finds everyone. I especially like the orange parts drawers up above.

Here are my finds for the last weeks trolling of Restores, farm sales and whatever else I think would be interesting:

A Craftsman 1/4" socket box, Stanley plane and chisel sharpening guide -$10 at a used tool store.
Plomb and Tru-Fit DBE and Fleet extension - $5 from a farm sale (way overhyped)
Misc. sockets including Snap-on from '30, '45 and '58, Plomb LA, Fleet, early Thorsen, and Proto. -$3.50 various Restores I stopped in.
Williams (with Red spin handle I have never seen) and Wright speeders, Williams and Plomb 3/4" ratchet and T-handle -$4 at a farm sale run by the grandkids.

I also made several other stops at various sales that yielded nothing.

Went to another barn sale today, this time not as far away and much more interesting. The only thing not pictured is my $1, nearly new, shop apron I was wearing when I took the photos.

First group at $3 a pop:
- 9" Starrett No. 23 Combination Square (the center finder looks like Starrett but seems to require a wider rule--I'll have to look at it more closely)
- Two Snap-on 3/8" Crow feet; 2-1/2" and 1-15/16" from '62 & '60--I thought they would be older.
- Two Wright Air Corps ratchets; 1/2" N-60 & 3/8" MN-60, both from '42.
- Snap-on M-44 9/32" speeder
- Williams ST-1230 socket (this was only $1)
- Armstrong 3/8" F-40 hinge handle

15 Jan 21-1a.jpg15 Jan 21-1c.jpg15 Jan 21-1b.jpg

Next was a sturdy little no-name box that I initially assumed was empty because it was priced at $15. When I swung back around later and looked inside I found all kinds of goodies!

Highlights:
- Indestro Super 372 Screwdriver
- Par-X UDS 104 Screwdriver
- Amalite Screwdriver--see pic#3 below. Not sure what the fuss is with Amalite--sharp edges and not very comfortable in the hand
- Mil Std Corp 2224284 Had to look that one up. Wicked pointy thing, apparently a cotter pin puller from the same folks that brought you the Snoopy wrench.
- Bergman O' Buffalo, Queen City 4" Adjustable
- Proto U.S. 4870 9/32" universal joint

But the nicest surprise was the load of Snap-on that was in the box, including:

- 1/2" Drive Breaker Bar Ratchet Adapter SV67
- (2) 3/8" Drive Breaker Bar Ratchet Adapters F67B
- (6) 3/8" Drive 12-Point Universal Sockets (no date code)
- (5) 1/4" Drive 12-Point Universal Sockets (1980)

Frozen flea finds (Lugz 2021_06) from this morning... See Pic 1.

Anybody following 'The Lugzsonian - A Virtual Tour' thread knows where the matching Cincinnati Tool Co "C" clamps are going. They're not that old, and I was hoping for a second for the older one, but they'll do fine. The WISS V-13 6" duckbill (combination cut) tin snips are wartime and GMTK spec correct. The cocobolo through-blade handled putty knife is also GMTK-spec correct, but I have never seen the mfgr (Pioneer) before. Have to do some research. The B.S.A. pouch has a signal mirror in it. Lastly, a Long C pipe wrench. Oh, and an adjustable wrench lighter for the 'Paddywhack' display case.

In the "SPOTTED" category... See Pics 2 & 3.

I'm not a big fan of Restomods, but this Chevy truck is pretty nice. I was talking to the owner, who was about my age. His dad, who is 84, did all the work. He is building a second one now. I told him the only thing I might've done different was the lettering. I would've gone classic on that.

Have some people lost their minds? I picked this 3/8" breaker bar at a Flea Market last weekend, while trolling though nice clean USA $1 wrenches. Seller says "Oh, no!.... That's not a wrench, I have to have $3 for that." I agreed, as I do know the brand has some scarcity and a spirited following. Figure I might wrestle $15-18 bucks out of it online. I just never realized how spirited until I stuck it on Ebay and it found it's way in front of two bidders who apparently can't go on living without it. WOW. I'm going to have to put more diligent eyes on these prizes. My jaw dropped 24 hours ago, and this thing still has several days to run on auction.

Just checked it, did the floor bruise ur chin yet!

Nice hauls guys.

Lugz good find on the Craftsman wrench with a nice logo

Outofbounds like the Armstrong set, good find

Old Radar heck if a score. Nice pick up on the pair of Wrights. I like the little Bergman. I still haven’t found one. My mother’s cousin married someone in that Bergman business, though far after those wrenches were made.

My Sunday swap meet is dying a slow death. Same sellers with the same stuff week after week. It’s getting to the point I remember specific wrenches from weeks past. I did finally find something worth buying today. My first purchase of the year I believe. I spent 4 bucks on a 1932 plomb 5251, a crusty pebble 1126, and a wilpen dbe. Hopefully this opens the flood gates...

Pic 1: Pretty complete SK set I found the other day. I had the missing 7/16" socket and 6" extension at home in my extras. Found a ratchet the next day so now I'm just missing the 2" extension. 5 bucks including the Wera hard handle flathead I found in the guy's other stuff, so call it 4 bucks for the SK set.

Pic 2: One of my regular stops is a tool consignment store who doesn't really have bins of random tools--everything has a price on it. Today there was a bin of all top-level stuff, $2 each. Asked the guy if he would do a deal for bulk and he said yes, so I got everything in the picture for $10.

New Britain 1/4" breaker and 5 sockets
Snap On TM16 socket
SK Wayne 3/8" drive 7/8" & 1/2" sockets
SK Wayne 3/8"-1/4" adapter
SK Wayne 1/4" drive 2" extension & sockets 3/16"-7/16"
SK knurled 7/16" socket
SK 3/8" universal
SK Wayne 3/8" 6" extension
SK 1/2" drive knurled sockets 7/8" & 1"

Nice pick up on the ratchet. I can never find the old ones. I did have an old Plomb find that I was happy about though.

Here is part three of the adventures starting last week. Went back to the guy who had the motor and Power Hacksaw, and loaded this up!

Max Spindle Sander, one face-ring and two spindles (he thinks he has a third somewhere). 3ph, but in amazing condition under the grime. Same idea as the hacksaw, I think the dirt and grime protected the actual paint. I have a friend with a full set of spindles if I need to borrow one, until I can get the lathe up and running to make replacements.

Loaded it up for $150, and headed home. He still has some other smaller stuff I may pick up, and he is undecided if he is going to part with a Delta Radial Arm Drill he has in pieces (headstock/ram is together).

Compared to the 12/14, this thing seems almost light and tiny!IMG_20210117_155712_01.jpgIMG_20210117_155712_03.jpgIMG_20210117_155712_02.jpg

Went to a flea market I hadn’t tried before, and am quite happy with the finds and the prices. Ran into CBacres at the end too and we got to compare notes on our weekend finds.

-four Herbrand pieces: bullet handle speeder, extension, punch, and what looks like a little single box end bleeder wrench
-Snap-On brake spoon, 10mm socket, 12mm allen wrench, stubby screwdriver
-Ridgid and Proto screwdrivers
-sockets: Mac hex socket,Stevens Walden deep socket, Williams old 8pt socket
-Craftsman hose nozzle, Craftsman circle K 3/8 swivel, 1/4” ext.
-Wright 3/8 ext.
-Sears ratchet wheel
-unmarked cross bar
-Crescent 4” adjustable
-Wizard adjustable wrench
-Seymour Smith pliers
-USA made endmill
-ratchets: Thorsen 3/8, Thorsen 3/8 open gear, Great Neck 3/8 stubby, S-K 1/4
-Plomb Los Angeles single end wrench. I think it was a water pump tool.

A nice old key collection to help recover some funds, and and an ugly little box I almost passed by. It resembled a socket box so I opened it up to find some Williams goodies. Got it cheap, but only a few Williams sockets, one S-K, 3 Taiwan, and the t handle is missing the ball.

Three FM stops this weekend.

- Klein 44105
- Needle Files
- Cut Off Wheels
- 2 Bolen Leather Works 6720 Bags & Leather knee pads

I've got a little research to do on the Bolen bags. For $15 ea (w/knee pads thrown in) I didn't feel they were too badly priced.

You guys have been killing it.. Meanwhile.. nothing has been going on for me in this area, although I heard the Capital was recently giving out souvenir furniture and I missed out on that!

I finally got out to an estate sale and the only good part was I got out for $5 and picked up some odds and ends. The only tools were a little Stillson wrench and an odd little Gulmite screws "pre-patent" demonstration driver. Gulmite screws were patented in 1935 as a tamper proof type of screw. I realize now that I have seen Gulmite screws before and never realized what they were. (the example picture is not mine) I have some other neat odds and ends to go through but that was those were my main tool scores. There was also a nice cabinet lock with an ornate key, a cloth tape measure, a machinists block of some type, some odds and ends in original packaging, a reference wheel of some type from Perkin's machinery and gear company.

Also a couple of light sockets because I am getting to the point that if I can't fix it or use it, I might as well make a lamp out of of it. And a ball of twine because it had good "patina". With a statement like that, I really worry about the year ahead, but at least I had fun!

3Bay - that little Williams set has a great look. The sockets really show off that logo

3bay, since that knurled item in the Williams socket box wasn't worth mentioning, please send it to me. I'll give it the attention it deserves! ;)

Haha! I took some more photos.

For others who may be curious (Provincial and most of you guys certainly know), a 1/4 drive spinner handle NM-110 with female drive in the handle. The shank locks to the handle via detent ball, and unlocks to allow use of the rotating hand grip.

Here it is with an odd socket or adapter.

A nice old key collection to help recover some funds, and and an ugly little box I almost passed by. It resembled a socket box so I opened it up to find some Williams goodies. Got it cheap, but only a few Williams sockets, one S-K, 3 Taiwan, and the t handle is missing the ball.

Here is my similar complete set. It’s kind of a mix of wartime and postwar tools.

I am tempted to ask: Where's Waldo?*

Nice to see the locals come through for you!

*(I already know...)

Beamer, Half way between Delaware, Ohio and Marion, Ohio. About 50 minutes north of Columbus. Went to a downtown Columbus Pawn Shop today. First trip there. A buddy of mine that I buy from at a local flea market gets a lot of his stuff there. I prefer the flea market. Pawn shop was pretty picked over.

I picked up this rolling tool cabinet last weekend from a local auction house. Thanks to a lead from GJ member Sam3 Customs in the toolboxes of GJ thread, I believe it can safely be identified as a cabinet for a Sun Scope Tune-up Tester 300 (era unknown).

I paid $10 plus $1 auction fee.

Damn, this year is starting out pretty solid even with the pandemic. No sales or auctions around here worth hitting yet this year. I feel like I'm missing out. I can't even go on the hunt which is the best part. Most auctions have gone online and tag sales have been sparse. I'm starting to get amped up. I'm done with winter.
