We found two sales that looked promising. The first one was in Fairfax in Marin County. There was a large selection to pick from but at checkout time the Marin County prices were daunting and a few choice pieces were left behind. My wife grabbed the small Kennedy box.
We arrived late at the second sale in San Lorenzo, CA but found a few worthwhile tools. The rusty axe turned out to be Craftsman.

That little Kennedy box is cool. Any pictures of the inside? Dividers?

Today was our town-wide yard sale, but instead of buying, I gathered my treasures from the various dusty squirrel holes in my garages and had my own garage sale. Did pretty well--sold a little of everything, but nearly enough. Now that everything is out, I'll be listing bunch on Marketplace and Ebay. Hope everyone else had some good luck in their purchases!3f478bb53e1b9b14872ef1c1fd41db49.jpgb63034aec957931923291828eeb203c1.jpga6505656d4a46d6c45f988918b2fb5d0.jpg566488dd3f45a3f4719a679a4e09f951.jpgdcb47a45507b25d67cba33c569d8459c.jpg3e6e76723f60b8419bc6ec308bfb3c8a.jpg94929a2e25f50bc95df0b966011124d2.jpg7aee70a095bbb5ac2125503a6db0338b.jpg826aea8bdf842fddbf4484825745a351.jpg

$18 today, mostly at Jakes Flea, but two TOO garage sales, too.
Most pleased with the BAHCO adjustable/gater wrench, which was frozen. I got hold of the adjustment nut with a big pair of slipjoints, and was able to back the pin/shaft out with many small turns. After that, it was easy to clean up.
The 5/16” box wrench is T.B. Wood’s Sons. If it didn’t say Chambersburg PA, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up, but it caught my eye. Founded 1857, incorporated 1897, still in business today.

You know what, though? The pin was bent. I don’t think I could have gotten it apart if it hadn’t been hung up in the nut. Straightening something that small and short was challenging. I just kept making my best guess until it spun free in the nut.
Yeah, PA eyes probably better adapted for recognizing ‘burgs.

First sale in a few months at a local estate aggregator. Fewer tools than he used to have, but picked up a nice S-K tool box with the insert, 3 Craftsman screwdrivers, unmarked wood handled screwdriver, Diamalloy and Wiss tin snips, 2 linesman pliers (Klein and one other) and a Stanley utility knife for $10. Also picked up a Wyandotte truck for $30 and a Buddy L truck and a partial Hubley road grader.a2f7ffd48dd11dfb1b77b3e5325712c0.jpg8fa7f2bee4a0b7de955d65449aaa42c1.jpg7881d8209989ac2ae769b63bd6a4754e.jpgd387cdeabc480d84cd19ee317ee25f6a.jpgf9f32abb9250572cb480f7a8ea82f005.jpge8436c9769e951a533432d27d0e13cdf.jpg

You guys are doing great!

BB, Receivers from the golden years of stereo can bring good $$! What size/Material/type is the extinguisher next to the Propane Lantern on the table? is that a water pressure extinguisher ? I've made several water or soda acid extinguishers, into "wash stations' for camping use. - You had a lot of good stuff for sale!

GPW that Stanley clamp on vise MAY an early one? 1920-34? (orange/black) was used on the Victor/Stanley mini machinists clamp on.

I had a fair day again - One day old Estate, a "block" sale (2 houses) and the new local Flea perked up! (almost full for vendors!)

Several TOO's didn't pan out.

First stop was the Block" a $3 folding table for camping:

Then the Estate where I had to wait for them to open -

Marvel Mystery Oil Penetrol, some engine Moly, and not shown close to 3/4 gallon of Coleman fuel. (they had a stove; I left it), and an Eagle Oil can maybe 1/2 ful of oil :headscrat :

attachment.php

Some 3X1-1/2 Channel 9" long, adn a 6 X maybe 1" steel disk:

Aluminum Diamond Plate:

A mini Propane lantern, and a LARGE 8" Hargrave C-Clamp That was it for re Estate, $15 all.

attachment.php

And at the Local Flea:
A pair of Herbrand DOEs, I think these are the largest DOEs have now.
Klein Nut drivers, this adds to tree others I have so a good start on a set, with no dupes.
And Sockets" 3 marked "D" - Duro, right?, 2 SK, A Bog hex drive, A New Britain, , A Plvmb, adn a Firestone, (may be my first? - Nope second...)

This weeks yardsailing standouts:
Scout 4" vise. Gladly paid the asking price of $5.00
A Wilton 3" was priced at $20 and the railroad anvil at $10.
I asked it they would consider a package deal at $25.00 & was told yes.
The bullet isn't perfect.
It is missing hardware for the swivel.
This is my first one of these. I assume there is some sort of center pin that the vise rides/swivels on as there are no threads in the pivot hole?

I haven’t posted much on here because of a new garage being built and house addition happening. For that reason, I need an extension ladder as. Ok I have a 2 story house and the garage which will need to be sided. I found a good deal on this Louisville 24ft fiberglass extension ladder with 300lb capacity. Paid $160. The seller had it stored inside and you can tell. That’s half price of a new one. It fit perfectly on my wife’s Thule cargo rack.

Wow, lots more great stuff that you guys are finding!

Bagged, great find on that ladder. You're right, nothing but bad things happen to fiberglass ladders stored outdoors. I had to throw a couple away that my Dad and/or Grandfather left behind a shed for who knows how long. Such a waste.

The Eagle oiler is spot on for one included under the hood of every WW2 Jeep as well as many other toolsets including the GMTK. The wartime D-I sockets are GMTK correct as well. I’m going to have to check out your new flea!

There is a date code on your Plomb adjustable that I can’t quite make out. 1945?

GPW that Stanley clamp on vise MAY an early one? 1920-34? (orange/black) was used on the Victor/Stanley mini machinists clamp on.

Outlaw, I am guessing you meant me? But, yes, orange and black, no other markings other than saying STANLEY across the front. I am going to have to machine up a pad and other than the cracked front it seems really well made.

Some times you have to do that to make room for the ext good deal. I am doing the same [emoji481]

Blue Bomber

Did you take any after the garage sale pictures? Just curious how many treasures were sold from all the displays you sold.

Much of what I had out were treasures I had previously picked and reported in the annual GJGS threads. The good stuff got put on the 'resale' bench, and had been stacking up for four years or so. In a way, it was kinda fun to rediscover the really good stuff, like the Italian-made Ferrari wrench or the rusty Porche lug wrench that'll bring big bucks on Ebay. Those didn't get set out yesterday. Nor did any of the Snap-on.

Outlaw: I sold some of the stereo equipment (a receiver, big Sony speakers and an equalizer for $140. I certainly could gave gotten more, but hey, it was a garage sale. The extinguisher is a stored pressure carbon tetrachloride type, in pretty roached shape. No one bit at $10. We'll see what interest Ebay brings.

The vintage license plates sold well, as I had them priced too low ($2/plate). I sold a stack of 25 Kromedge Craftsman 10" saw blades to a kid who only wanted one by giving him a deal he couldn't refuse. None of the big stuff went, so I'm putting them up on FB today.

Still, I converted some of my treasures into more than $600 in my pocket. Good progress in making room and in making this hobby pay for itself...and my Impala engine swap!

BlueBomber - congrats on the sale! I think I need to do a little thinning of the collection around here.

Here is a follow-up on the chest / drawers I picked up last weekend. I still need to work on the inside of the drawers, but for now I glued a few joints to steady it up and polished the outside and put a finish on the top. It looks good even with the missing drawers. My wife always complains that I don't take enough before pictures... (yet another thing she is right about).... but I had a couple pics so you can get an idea of the 'before'

All of you guys are doing very well but nothing like 3jakes.
The early bullet by itself would have been a “you ****” deal even for the original asking price. But $25 for the package deal of these three?

It's beautiful, Duds. Not to be repetitive, but I'm not sure if you saw my initial reply, so I will say it again - I love those type of recessed pulls and just passed up a little possibly homemade machinists' chest with pulls like that (photos a few pages back just after your initial post); and, I know your instinct may be to have some drawers made, but I can see myself sticking tools in those empty slots. Unless you're going to repurpose it for something in general living space, in which case, if you're looking for opinions, I would probably just leave empty. It looks kind of appealing that way and tells its own story. "Yeah, I may be incomplete, but I am 100% original and authentic!"

Not sure how to translate this Plomb code?
It is a J.P. Danielson code. December 1946. Pretty early for Plomb production. Plomb acquired them in October that year.

D42, thx for the tip on the oiler! I may need to see how much of a kit I could outfit someday if I ever pickup one of the boxes...

ONE sale today - Rain is threatening (per the weather guessers, I'm not seeing or feeling it...)

Stanley 601 5 oz magnetic tack hammer, Proto 332 9" bench snips, and a pair of P38 can openers.

after quite a dry spell, picked up what appears to be a kennedy model 275xb rollaround box, complete with assorted castoff tools (incl. a few proto items) and hardware.
it required a few hours of of cleaning and lube but well worth it.
still need to wipe it down w/acetone one last time.
shown with the craftsman machinist's box picked a couple years ago.
now have a place to put all the machinist tools i've been collecting over the past several years.
selling off the assorted tools at next yard sale will more than cover the $10 purchase price.

Naaah. Just a topic I happen to know. Funny how I can remember things like key tool mfg history factoids and my 4th grade locker combination, but couldn't tell you my kids birthdays without a fairly large margin of error or what I had for dinner last night.

So your memory was the pattern on which this website based it's search function?
