My most recent finds. Picked up these wood planes and mostly Proto and SK tools at a few of garage sales a month or so ago.

Got this set of Mitutoyo Calipers and a Remline tool box at an estate sale two weeks ago. They were firm on the prices, but prices were good. Only paid $65 for the tool box.

This weekend's finds. Mostly Snap-On sockets, a Mac Tools hammer, and a pair of Toyota slip joint pliers. Picked up all of these at half price day for an estate sale. There was a lot more available, but someone just barely beat me to it as I made my way to the garage.

Wow, you guys are doing great! adn that not even knowing the rest of BMWs teaser!

One that had sufficient words to get me out of the house so far today, and one dead end TOO:

Vaughn Superbar, Malleable clamp, Lighter stick near full, and a Sandvik 6" hacksaw;

Clamp Vaughn S bar Sandvik lighter.jpg

And some precut foam - I'm hoping this fits one of my converted gun cases: $5 all

Foam pad.jpg
Way to go, Outlaw - you found one of the several dozen Vaughan bars I've lost over the decades!

BMW You **** for that cabinet. I found one (empty) about a month ago and had an agreement to sell it for $200 before going to bed that night. I know if you decide to sell you will do quite well. Its really cool to see one with most of the tools.
I hit 1 sale this weekend ,it was only 2 blocks from the house and the dog got a walk. # Craftsman combo wrenches to help fill in a set from the purchases a couple weeks back ,a Goodell Bros hacksaw, and a NIB Coleman funnel. I'm torn between keeping it ,as I don't have one ,or cashing in on Ebay.

after >10 yrs of searching, finally helped a friend pick up a running one of these today - within 3 miles of home.
threw in a battery and drove it onto the trailer. needs fluids changed, some cleaning and a bit of tlc but everything works.
a great buy at the embarrassingly low price of $375 - especially in light of only 750 hrs on the clock.

That's a HUGE You ****!!!

bmwrd0…Heritage wall cab + loaded w tools • 25% = suckage supreme. Nice one!

I slipped away solo to Jake’s Flea this morning while MrsLS prepped our potluck contributions to a family reunion in Sullivan Co, 2hrs distance (no traffic snarls today!).

$20 brought home a pair of 1871 patent Henry Disston & Sons 2-man saw handles, an unmarked large fine half-round rasp, a cord keeper, Brown & Sharpe No710 fractional & decimal guage, 3/8dr & 1/4dr socket organizers, Thorsen 1/4dr uni, two war-era Bonney 1/4dr sockets w sliding tee, Seymour Smith grips, Dunlap small machinist replacement handle, geometric-C Craftsman Vanadium linesmans & utility knife, Wards made in Canada Stanley-lookalike utility knife, Millers Falls nailset, 1/2dr & 3/8dr short Snap-on socket rails, Bonney TuHex dbe.

Our route to the reunion took us through Ricketts Glen State Park, which may be familiar (ca1933) to some who have played Cabelas Legendary Adventures (level 1) hunting game. The weather was gorgeous, and the drive refreshing. As it was his birthday, I gave one of my uncles a Stillson wrench, slipjoints and a replacement hatchet handle, all of a brand coincidently his last name, which I have found at sales.

OK, time to update. On Friday, I had a doctors appointment, which kinda threw a Stilton wrench into my works, as there were more than a few really good looking sales a bit further out than I wanted to go and half to be back at an odd hour. So, I scrounged around and found a mornings worth of sales (and one that looked good but I knew was going to be expensive.) And most of them turned out to be busts. They had tools, just very little I found worthwhile. I did find the following:
52207467649_95e3a62a6f_c.jpg
Vlcheck and Penens ratchets, Walden breaker bar, and a Wigginton voltage tester. Also, this rifle vise:
52207390078_c1a992f8e5_c.jpg

The sale I knew would be expensive turned out to be just that. An older fellow was liquidating his tool collection. And there was some very nice pieces! But he knew what they were (and well he should!)
52207280028_ba3084f315_c.jpg
Early thirties SK socket set, Stanley 148 tongue and groove plane.

On Saturday, I didn't bother to go in the am, as my wife is out of town and that is the prime reason I go every weekend; just to give her some time to herself. Also, one trick I have learned over the years is that if you go to an estate sale near the end of the day before 50% day, you can often get some great deals before the half-price locusts descend. So, I headed out into the countryside to a farmhouse estate sale loaded with antiques. Found some great stuff, but this company had a strict (per contract) policy of no discounts. So much for that trick, but I did still find some good stuff:
52207536789_c804ebd584_c.jpg
Gooseneck lamp, Proto LA screwdrivers, Snap-on spinner, and an R-32 ALLOY (Penens) breaker bar. Along with this
52207298663_43c8ff990b_c.jpg
Arts and Crafts era rocking chair. A little dirty, but should restore really easily.

On my way back from that sale, I was passing by another estate sale that is in Provincials territory. Now, I am a good sort, but he had a couple days to make his way over, I didn't feel bad about going under his nose (not that I really feel bad about things like this), and it also looked like a lot (and I mean A LOT) of cheap tools. So, while I wasn't wrong about that, there was still some good stuff, just nothing I was in need of. I was hoping that the Logan lathe was still there (not that I need another lathe, but, you know) but that had sold. So, looking around, not seeing much in the various rooms of tools (though there were some interesting Optimus burners in the house part) I was turning to go, and by chance I noticed a cabinet I (and everyone else) had walked right past. See, it was in a dark hallway, and if you didn't look right at it, it blended in. I opened it up, pretty sure it wasn't what I was hoping it was, but, lo and behold, it was it. I closed it, and went asking for a price, as I didn't see on. Well she knew the cabinet, and through a price at me. I though for a second, and pulled my late in the day before trick "well, tomorrows half price day, and it's the end of the day, would you go 40% off of that?" But, she knew the value of the piece, so we settled in at 25% off.

Heritage era Craftsman Mechanics wall chest. Full of Snap-on, Mac Sabina, P&C, Craftsman, and who knows what else. It still has the original key, paint is in pretty good shape, the pictographs for tool positions are clean. I haven't seen a better example.
Wait, it has the key😱? And you got it on discount? Double you *****! Well done

Yes, Wing Archery Co. and is most likely a Red Wing. Educated guess without seeing the rest of it would be early 1970's. Roll back the camo sleeves, there will be silkscreens on the limbs. Please use a bow stringer if you are taking the string on & off. Selway makes a great recurve stringer.

If I had to guess at the compound, mid 1980's X-Cellerator.

It has been a busy yard sale season & I have a pile of stuff to clean & post photos here, but these 2 hammers deserve a spot by themselves.
I have previously mentioned that I sell at (newly renamed) Morningsun fleamarket in Thomasville 10 times or so every summer.
I flip a lot of tools as well as other flotsam & jetsam that the yard sale trips yield.
I have lots of repeat customers that over the years I now count as friends.
2 weeks ago a guy that I sold a non-EPA compliant gas can to, says,
"I have 2 hammers I want to bring to you, I'm never going to use them".
I'm thinking, Ok great.... how to tell this fella that no, I can't pay what you are asking for those whatever they are...."
This weekend he shows up & hands me these two fellows saying,
"Here, You always give me good prices, maybe you can sell them or whatever."
I was gobsmacked.
2 nearly new condition Protos, a deadblow mallet, and a 1.5lb brass.
The next item that fella buys from me will definitely be a freebee.

Habitats are weird. There are a couple near me that I don't bother with, as they never have anything but nearly new furniture. Others have tons of tools, building supplies, and older furniture. And prices can be all over the map, too. But, those ones that get good stuff, I will hit them when I am around.

I picked up this S-K No. 6610 Heavy Duty Tool Chest with an Earl Scheib paint job on Tuesday. Badging indicates post-war.
I suspect this was home for the 88 piece S-K 4088 Socketchest tools since the agent said a lot of S-K tools went out the door prior to my arrival. The box was, sadly, filled with offshore drek that I told the agent I was uninterested in and just a few well used S-K pieces. On the upside, both the tote and the front panel were within arms reach, as was an orphan Kennedy 520 front panel. Once I emptied the box of the offshore tools, we settled on $8 for everything else.

Tools included in the sale are all S-K:
1/2" and 3/8" speeders,
1/2" ratchet--spins, so a through cleaning is needed,
1/2" drag link--modified,
1/2" 19/32 socket,
3/8" 12-inch extension, well pitted.

After pulling the draws, I found two scribers. The larger one looks home made.

After finding a similar box, I did a gathering of tools to come as close as I could to duplicating a 4088 master set.

Craftsman wrenches and pocket screwdriver, Xcelite, Vaco, and Pratt-Read drivers, 4 in 1 from a now-closed hardware store that was local. Got two of the fire extinguisher signs, one for a buddy.

I was working in northern Tennessee and had a little down time yesterday so I visited a couple of local antique shops. I purchased the following items:

This apparently never used horn relay was $5.00

This stool was $17.00

This Atwater Kent model 30 (non working) was $17.00. E015B22D-CFE7-455C-AA95-04B4C95AFF73.jpeg

This Flamingo Ice Chest was $80.00

Miscellaneous kind of haul (Lugz 2022_34) from the flea today.

2022_34.jpg

The tools, top to bottom, are a so-called "Alien" logo Snap-on dwarfie DBE with a 1955 date code, a first generation Snap-on 1/2-inch extension, empty vintage Vise-Grip box (not sure of the age yet), a bulky crescent-type adjustable with a name (Jamestown Spec. & Mfg. Co.) I have never seen before, but certainly made in the right place for early bulky crescent-type adjustables, Proto military water pump/service wrench, COMPANION dwarfie DBE, wartime Williams combo Superrench, a SIMANCO wrench I didn't previously have in my SInger/SIMANCO collection, and an unknown tank wrench. The vintage cross-country ski boots will be converted into revenue as gothic/punk/steampunk boots.
