Picked up my $12.50 (after tax and fees)walker jack from a local estate sale auction this morning. I really lucked out as I was the only bidder. It’s missing the name plate with the serial number but there are some stamped numbers that I’ll need to research to find out exactly what I have.

Ended up passing both of these up.

Cornwell BPRW12MST 12 pc metric ratcheting wrenches. $140

And a Napa 3/8” set. Mostly SAE with some metric. All made in the USA except the ratchet which seemed out of place (made in Japan). $20

Today I stumbled into the subdivision garge sale from tool heaven!..... First guy I met was Mr. Puller. Then it was on to Mr Craftsman's place, followed by Mr Vise, Mr Machinist tool, Ms. Thin-Wrench and finally Mr Tekton & Mr Snap-on were neighbors. A good day!

mystery tool = valve spring compressor (?)
Looks homemade to me.
It’s really small. Maybe an aircraft pushrod spring compressor?

like this
350801D5-F96E-42B9-94A0-2DF8DEB17BBE.jpeg
Going to look into it some more based off your guesses. It looked homemade to me, machined by a professional though. Only defect is the rod is brazed on a little rough, otherwise it's actually very well machined.

Got it at a sell where there was no tool users, just a couple older women who had it for primitive decor, maybe a parents tools, along with the rest of the lot(pipe vise's, pipe wrenches, and such) so aircraft would be a stretch especially in Indiana but I've had some luck with some oddities lately so there's a chance.

I've been busy working on the tree farm lately, and have not had time to hit the sales. Wednesday, I stopped at the local charity shop so my daughter could donates some clothes. They haven't had many interesting tools in the past, but I found the following there (starting below the two big wrenches):
Offerup and H2O.jpg
SK 4826S spark plug socket, 13/16 and 1/2 drive
SK 40114 6-pt. 1/2 dr. socket 7/16
Bonney 620 6-pt 1/2 dr. socket 5/8 marked "4-"
Proto LA 5428 12-pt 1/2 dr. socket 7/8
P&C 6016-H 6-pt 1/2 dr. socket 1/2
P&C 6032 12-pt 1/2 dr. socket 1"
Tru-Fit DOE wrench set 3/8 x 7/16, 1/2 x 9/16, 19/32 x 5/8, 11/16 x 3/4, and 13/16 x 7/8. I don't collect Tru-Fit, but a full set in good condition was too much to pass up.
$12.00 total

The two wrenches were an Offerup deal he would not split up. Not Ebay prices, but no bargain, either. The Plomb is a condition upgrade for one I have.
Urrea 1236 combo 1-1/8 (28.5mm) Made in a plant started in Mexico by Proto. Off-point broaching in the box end. Supposed to be good quality.
Plomb Pebble 1240 combo 1-1/4

The next photo is a group of tools from a garage sale on Friday after work. Again, $12.00 total:
Garage Sale.jpg
3/16" key stock
4" toolmakers clamp
Wizard H2048 DOE 3/8 x 7/16
Grease Fitting Multi-tool
1/8" and 1/4" Allen Wrenches
Blue Point 308 wire gap gauges
Long-C DOE's, 1033C and 1731 15/16 x 1", 3/4 x 13/16
Utica TL-13-A Linesman's Pliers WWII
Plomb USA 1222 combo 11/16
Channellock nippers, with shearing cutting action
Unmarked 17-5/8" x 1-1/4" tire iron

The cutting edges of the nippers:
Channellock Jaws.jpg
The pattern of the dots on the tire iron would suggest it is factory made:

A friend gave me these wire cutters today. He didn't know what they were, but thought they might cut wire. I told him I thought they would be military, since the "horns" would make it easier to get a strand of barb wire into the jaws.

Sure enough, they turned out to be Japanese, from WWII. Pretty interesting design, with removable handles and replaceable jaws.

Made a couple of stops at various yard sales yesterday. Only found 1 item worth bringing home. Porter Cable 7424XP polisher, appears to have seen limited use, operates smoothly. Hopefully it will speed up the process of cleaning/waxing the RV. $25

Lovely morning at Jake’s Flea. Solo trip with a $30 cap on my budget. Started out crisp before dawn with frost on the windshield. Upon arrival, headed uphill on left to cover the “extra” space near the woodlot, where I spent $5 on a Western Auto hacksaw with the design patent number on it, a Snappy VacuumGrip dikes and a Bonney wood handle Stillson. Then negotiated a crowntop Craftsman machinist chest with three boxed Starrett calipers in it down from $30 to $15 without them. I really just wanted a doner cover panel and a couple of the drawer pulls (which is all that’s there - most are heavily chewed). Then took a pass at Bob’s shed. He had two outdoor tables filled with $1/ea or $7/12 and three tables filled with $3/ea and individually-priced items. I did a quick bottom-feeder pick off the $1 table and got two Crescent #112 jaw replacement kits and a handfull of pliers and wrenches for my remaining $10.

Went to a few sales yesterday, got a bow saw and Dowl-it drill guide for $12.

Second sale was a bust then the third sell was also a bust but the woman running it asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I said tools so she said hold on a minute and ran inside then her husband came out...anyhow 5 hours later we had looked through all the tools in his barn and I agreed to buy his old toolbox, plus a frozen 1982 10-11mm snap on ratchet wrench, for $150.

(Pic wouldn't upload so I had to use the pic I took with the Chariot I've been working on)
PXL_20221009_175242270.jpg
Had to pick it up today because I didn't have a way to haul it and now I have to figure out how to pull the drawers, clean it up, and fix the dents where a customer accidentally rammed it when it was in his mechanic shop.

Overall looks like the same work I've done before so it should be just a week before it joins my other 3 boxes in my office and takes some weight off them once I figure out the drawers.

Here is my meager haul for the weekend, a Corona tree trimming saw and a slightly rusty clipper, Bridgeport and Sabina Ohio (MAC) screwdrivers, and a tiny little stamped wrench with a D on one end, and a star in a circle on the other. The Bridgeport has the licensing info on the shank.

Also got a bunch of well patina'd copper fence post toppers for cheap, will silicone them over my fading wood ones.

Picked up this old Yale and Towne shackle padlock the other day. It works well, but after flushing it out with SiliKroil, when I unlock it, the entire shackle pops out. I can re-insert the shackle to lock it again. Is this fixable?

Looking forward to Jeff Moss giving us a lesson on this. He’s the resident locksmith!

I picked up this PC 136 belt sander for $35 from a senior citizens group. It had a dry bushing squeak. Turned out it was the motor. Cleaned n oiled it, polished the commutator, and now it's as silent as one can get. I'm not sure how old it is, but my memory of these is from the late 50's, early 60's. This one looks pretty good. And it sands really well. It was made in Syracuse. That dates it a bit.

The little stamped ignition wrench is a Kastar.

Found a Huot small drill index, loaded with crappy bits, at a garage sale for $1 and a Lufkin yardstick #7122, with brass tips, also for a dollar. These are likely from the forties/fifties or so.

I drove up to Kennelworth to buy a compressor tank that turned out to be rusted beyond belief. That's a sixty mile drive one way. But at least the sale had a stand with a pair of vises on it for $50. I've already cut down the 1/2" top for a grinder stand but first I had to remove 150 pounds of concrete that was cast around the base before I could even get it off the truck. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo before I cut, rewelded and painted the stand. That's a Reed 4".

Our restores in Delaware and Marion are rip off artists. They price everything on highest eBay price they can find.
