Scored some tools this week from someone selling “assorted tools” on marketplace. Thought I saw one or two SO tools in the lot they were asking $60 for. When I met them, I made sure to contain my excitement when I saw what they had.
Snap-On 10, 13, 14, 15, 17 combo wrenches
Snap-On 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 19 deep well 3/8” drive sockets
Snap-On 8, 9, 11, 13, 16, 17 shallow 3/8” sockets
Snap-On 10, 11, 13 shallow 1/4” drive sockets
BluePoint multimeter
BluePoint 16 oz ball peen
Craftsman torx T8-T60 (pretty happy with this set as I don’t have one this complete)
Proto 1/2” ratchet
And probably 100 screwdriver 1/4” bitsCDC77D4B-D6A2-4EB2-AD07-B9FF48E4249D.jpeg

There is a huge vacuum produced by the amount of suckage here! Congrats on the finds!

Naked Barrett! Barrett Machine Tool Co. 303 1/2 vise. Not currently on spreadsheet. Jaws 3 1/2" wide , weight 31 pounds, opens 5 1/2", overall length 15 1/2". This is the $10 stuck vise I picked up, it was laying in the dirt at the same place as the Emmert's. I wire wheeled the back part of the slide and what I could get to on the front part, sprayed Kroil on it and balanced it in a nose up position to let the Kroil work using gravity. I went back out a few hours later and it just came loose without much effort! These vises were apparently only marked Barrett for about 5 years starting around 1905, before that they were marked Meadville Vise Co. In 1910 Yost bought the vise line. I wire wheeled the heck heck out of this thing! Works like a charm now!

Are the VANADIUM ones still special or something? I have a handful of them around here.

I landed this Cole vise for FREE on CL. There was one person who responded before me but they never showed up! Thanks whoever you are!
You definitely deserve a YOU ****! for that vise for FREE! My grandfather has had one like it for as long as I can remember, it works great.

Been a long time forum lurker here. Anyways picked up a couple dandies this past weekend and couldn’t help but post something. Out of a 50$ collection of wrenches and screwdrivers on marketplace, came up with a Snap On SL710 (a tad dinged up on the decal but fantastic gear condition), and an old Snap On MAGNA TIP screwdriver. From what I’ve read, the screwdriver is from the 1950’s.
Needless to say, happier than a twister in a trailer park.C28D803A-D02A-453E-B874-E2EBF4C42EAD.jpeg362AFFFA-B519-41A7-8F5D-BC3DB901EB17.jpeg

Thursday's run to 4 local yard sales. Three were a bust.
The fourth is a yearly stop that always is a weird mix of stuff with very little tools.
Today they had a small section that I started in on, then asked, "how much for this stuff?"
"A dollar each....."

1/4 Fleet and 2 John Deere 12pt flare nut
P1010003.JPG
Craftsman Pro #2 Phillips and a 3/8 locking extension
P1010004.JPG
A Peterson in nice shape and a Proto LA
P1010005.JPG
And best for last...
A pair of Bahco adjustables in nice shape

@3jakes, at $1 each, You **** for all of it!
X3! All the more so since I haven't picked up a thing in three weeks.

I spent the Memorial Day weekend visiting one of my brothers in Indiana and after three years of diligently staving off Covid, Mrs. Radar and I inadvertently let our guard down by forgetting our masks before boarding the flight. She caught it and, after a week, unselfishly gave it to me. The doc gave me Paxlovid. It's a 5-day course of pills that cleared up all my symptoms over night. The only side-effect I experienced was a sour taste in my mouth for the five days, but food tasted normal. "Luckily" there have been no decent tool sales here for me to miss out on. Hoping for a change next week. Just a reminder, the pandemic may be over, but the bug is still out there waiting to pounce, so keep your guard up in high-traffic and sardine-packed settings.

Picked up these Metric Snap-On 1/2" drive impact sockets and Metric MAC 3/8" drive swivel sockets (missing the 10 mm of course LOL) for $70 total off of Facebook Marketplace 2 days ago.
Bluebolt ***** on that uncommon impact set.
Semi deep 307IMMS list is $230.
They look like they have some life left in them.
The MAC set is gravy.

Saw a barn sale listed on Marketplace not far from work. The photos had lots of potential. I stopped by after work, and unfortunately alot of what I was wanting had sold. But I did leave with a few gems.

Then the lady asked me what do u look for I told her old tools oils saw ect.. she said we have some in the shed in the back… after looking it all over I wanted to buy the drill bits and taps.. they said its only being sold as a lot. So for 75.00 I walked away with another tool box full6BE0BC0E-6FFB-4E0E-B823-5D68A738DAED.jpeg3E159A7A-8E82-4544-ABF0-9AA30771442B.jpeg0377DA11-201C-427C-95FB-0F19FC74CFBB.jpegDA43CB45-71BC-443E-AA70-97FA82854F3E.jpegAE2A07AB-D942-4428-B93A-CEBD603F35A3.jpegE303BE28-CF4A-4BD3-B430-030CD9A6898E.jpeg2D9908B7-BE1E-4383-B85D-00CCBF72125D.jpeg899BC7DA-EFF4-4715-8704-4F4D0C91A5AE.jpeg0724AB82-7096-4922-8B1E-8A4D31567B52.jpeg1B442B24-0F8F-4C3A-ACC2-AEBC362B8443.jpeg

the last picture of the hex keys I’ve never seen anything like them any ideas?
Those are Bristol spline wrenches. Still being made: https://bristolwrench.com/about/
Apparently they are common in avionics. I've got a set of the wrenches that (like yours) came in a toolbox I bought. I've never used them or seen a Bristol fastener.

Oh, and by the way, you deserve a hearty, well-intended "You ****!" for that purchase. :) What a find!

Ya, a well earned “you ****“ to the new guy.

Ive used the Bristol spline wrenches as an easy out before, got a bunch of them in a bundle too, and never had any other use for them.

Vintage Sunoco 5 gal can (Ellisco), unbranded mini brass gasoline(?) blowtorch, roll of military WD1 wire and Zenith TransOceanic shortwave receiver, Amazon Echo Dot "smart" speaker.
Fuel can is dirty and has surface rust but is intact. Torch has a couple very dings and should clean up nicely. Spool and wire are like new. Dot was new in box and now playing in the house. Haven't tried out the shortwave yet but have noticed the brass "brights" are missing from the knobs.
$66 for all.
