This was included in my mix of stuff I got today...
Goodell-Pratt Company Toolsmiths, Greenfield Mass. U.S.A.
Combination woodworking tool, hollow storage in the handle with a threaded cap, Looks like walnut...
I assume vintage, seems in nice condition...
Can't imaging I'd use it for anything... I like old tools, but mainly metal working tools...
Too nice for it to be tossed into the rubbish bin...

Found these Lightening Pliers today. I've never heard of Hjorth Tool Corporation before. Couldn't pass up the $5 price tag on these odd pliers. These are 12" long & are very heavy. Has a screwdriver & a nail puller on the end of the handles.
I don’t know what the hell they’re for, but they sure are cool.

You can show it off here too.

GP was merged out in 1931, so almost antique.

all the guys with OCD for disorder will appreciate that it bothers me that the guy who welded it together was not consistent. Two of the wrenches have the major markings on the same side, but the other one is on the flip side. This will perpetually annoy me.
The guy is obviously an anarchist--or possibly a sadist to us OCD types!

Just mail it to me!!

Snap-on, Proto, SK… $5.

Heading back out.

This stuff was in much rougher shape than I usually buy.

I get it…

But I already have a lot of hardline tools…

I have been making an effort to buy the super clean stuff lately.

I still find stuff almost every week.

This is a guideline for the kind of condition that I usually try to stick to…

Catching up-sorry-its just fast and furious here.

The following ****:

macduff--for your SK set (post #2936)
Bluebolt--for your $70 Snap on/MAC socket haul-nice!
davefr--for your $10 FLUKE-really? $10 for a fluke? sheesh!
Lugz--for your Raybestos dolly (that is a brake job stool if'n I've ever seen one) and your triangle, thats just cool
saukit--for your Armaloy haul
saukit--for your Walden socket sets and entire haul (yes, that is a double up **** for saukit)

Now some housekeeping:

alinc..Thanks for letting me off the hook for that set, I'm really excited about it. I saw your wrenches you got, I see a couple. And yes, The Mrs. is a keeper, thanks.

I try to stick to NOS or light wear, no chrome loss, no owner marks, no rust.

Half the stuff I bought today was out of my normal acceptable condition. Rust, chrome loss, owner marks…

The 5/8” SK spark plug socket and the Proto ignition wrench were within my normal purview.

The oil pressure sender wrench socket cleaned up well enough to be within my normal purview with a brass brush, some Fluid Film and a minute’s work.

The rest is in rougher shape than I usually buy.

Ideall, I only want truck tool brands and industrial brands. Here are more examples of the condition I buy. The 9/16” Snap-on, that I bought today, is the worst thing in the drawer. It probably won’t get to stay in that drawer very long.

I have considered trying Evaporust and buying tools that are a little rougher… but there is literally tonnage of hardline tools out there.

Lots of ***** this week.

@bmwrd0 - Cool watch press.

@Davefr - you stole that Fluke!

@Snip's - Antique multitool.

@Private Lugnutz - That gas can is awesome.

@saukit - Double ***** for the wrenches and socket sets.

@alinc100 - the metric Craftsman combos are on my hunt list.

@Outlawmws - The camp lamp. Not my thing but I know a few serious horder/collectors that would be really envious.

Went food shopping and stopped to pick this up along the way.

Poulan pro chainsaw and blower.

“Ran last season”

They now run and I just cut up a tree limb with the saw, and blew off my driveway with the blower lol.

Price? $20 for the pair.

A nifty metal filing cabinet.

IMG20230621121921.jpg

IMG20230621121938.jpg

It's a nice 2mm steel body with a 4mm aluminum top with nice wheels. I haven't seen deep files like this(14w x18D folders) anyone know where these came from?

IMG20230620155844.jpg

I was mucking out my shoreline and stepped on this driver. This is a keeper for me. I've lost a 24" pry bar, a Stanley wonderbar and a older SK ratchet, extension and 9/16 socket so this lake still owes me.

light bulbs. $4 bucks a six pack.

I'm not sure CA will allow those to be sold much longer, and may be gone already. Same for CFLs and linear Florescent follow in 2025...

I can't give away Incandescent or CFL's at all... No one wants them, and I think I have maybe 2 non LED's left in my house, other than a couple of specialty bulbs....

I'm not missing them, LEDs last better anyway.

Both popular here! If you need the Protos gone, my hand is up.

the "weird ones" are the "Perfect Grip" type, and also popular, Several of us are collecting them. I want to put together a working set, as I really like the grip feel.

What brand is the ratchet driver?

sqwez, is that Williams wrench just an unfinished wrench?

Edit: I looked up Williams 507 wrench. It is supposed to be like that.

Being that I’m from califorina I keep my proto and plvmb stuff..

The Williams I have no idea… seen it at a antique store for 1 dollar and figure it may be the only 5/8 wrench I have that I could put a 10 foot cheater on and not worry about breaking it

...and a new chain? You still ****, great score!

Mike
Yeah, it came with no chain. But on the way home, I decided to get a chain and some bulk fuel line just in case. Didn’t use the fuel line though, as the existing fuel line was still in very good pliable condition. Just I live in the absolute middle of NOWHERE. It would have cost more to buy a chain after I got home/got it running. The mower/small engine place was kinda on the way home, so I figured why not!? Lol

Yeah still a good deal though 😁

I hear you on the LEDs, I did my basement shop and kitchen under cabinets with those linkable 4 ft daylight tubes. They made a world of difference for me.

Here's my conundrum, I have 22 cans, 4 florescent fixtures in the house, a garage with 3 plain sockets and pole barn with 2 sockets.

While I'm up here for the summer, my plan was to get one of those Lutron bridge controllers and start converting them all to led fixtures.

It's a medium priority project since I'm only here for four months.

All if this stuff was $36. Hit one sale and I went to a junk store that I have never been to even though it’s been under my nose for years! The lady at the store was super nice and gave me a good deal. There was a tiny claw hammer in the tackle box, the lady seemed to really it so I let her have it as I was about to leave, maybe she’ll remember this and give me a good deal next time because karma and stuff.
IMG_1480.jpeg
Heres the contents of the tackle box everything here cost $30.
IMG_1483.jpeg
Got this cool little Williams set, the Williams stuff and the box got traded to @JohnDeere for some 3/8 drive Williams stuff. It also came with an old blue point wrench and some 9/32 drive snap-on stuff, does the snappy stuff have any value? Seems kind of useless to me being 9/32 drive and all. It also came with a cool little 1/4 hex drive ratchet, and a 9/32 adapter drive plug thing.
IMG_1484.jpeg
IMG_1485.jpegIMG_1487.jpeg
IMG_1488.jpeg
Got this sweet Remington hat for $1.
IMG_1492.jpeg
Got this almost complete Action set of wrenches.
IMG_1509.jpeg
Can someone direct me to some more info about this weird screwdriver.
